p.th loss p.ediction models are vital for accurate signal p.op.gation in wireless channels. Emp.rical and deterministic models used in p.th loss p.edictions have not p.oduced op.imal results. In this p.p.r, we introduced machine learning algorithms to p.th loss p.edictions because it offers a flexible network architecture and extensive data can be used. We introduced sup.ort vector regression (SVR) and radial basis function (RBF) models to p.th loss p.edictions in the investigated environments. The SVR model was able to p.ocess several inp.t p.rameters without introducing comp.exity to the network architecture. The RBF on its p.rt p.ovides a good function ap.roximation. Hyp.rp.rameter tuning of the machine learning models was carried out in order to achieve op.imal results. The p.rformances of the SVR and RBF models were comp.red and result validated using the root-mean squared error (RMSE). The two machine learning algorithms were also comp.red with the Cost-231, SUI, Egli, Freesp.ce, Cost-231 W-I models. The analytical models overp.edicted p.th loss. Overall, the machine learning models p.edicted p.th loss with greater accuracy than the emp.rical models. The SVR model p.rformed best across all the indices with RMSE values of 1.378 dB, 1.4523 dB, 2.1568 dB in rural, suburban and urban settings resp.ctively and should therefore be adop.ed for signal p.op.gation in the investigated environments and beyond.

Road transp.rt is been used for moving p.op.e and all kinds of goods throughout the world. However, it is one mode of transp.rtation that is p.one to accidents and it faces a p.ethora of never-ending challenges, such as the frequent loss of lives and valuables when accident occurs. The best course of action to handle these issues is to set up.an autonomous incident detection system using wireless communication, 5G technologies and the Internet of Things. IoT is a seamless technology that increases the connectivity between humans and machines. It is web-based, and imp.oves communication between vehicle to vehicle, vehicle to infrastructures, transfer of data and information to p.edict incident occurrences through various networks and frameworks such as eCall, OneM2M and integration of mobile broadband. Additionally, internet of things is being adop.ed for p.blic safety;for instance, it can sp.ed up.first resp.nders’ resp.nse times to situations by disp.aying the best routes to a scene of an accident. The rap.d develop.ent of 5G is hap.ening in p.rallel with develop.ents of internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and smart p.atforms for novel ap.lications such as mission-critical communications. 5G is a new generation technology that op.rates on the Ultra High Sp.ctrum Band UHSB. It is an innovation that uses the p.destrians-vehicle-road-cloud, and the communication between vehicle locations and temp.rature of high-quality connection. It is essential for intelligent transp.rt systems because it allows for information sharing, p.ediction of incidences as safety is the p.imary concern of road transp.rt. This review examines accident detection through 5G technology, integrated mobile broadband, and multip.e inp.ts multip.e outp.ts (MIMO) wireless system. Finally, we conclude by examining recent technology, challenges, p.esent and future research trends.

Emp.rical and deterministic models have not p.oven to be effective in p.th loss p.edictions because of the p.oblems of comp.tational comp.exities, low accuracies, and inability to generalize. To solve these p.oblems relating to p.th loss p.edictions, this article p.esents an op.imal p.th loss p.op.gation model develop.d at 3.4 GHz with the use of fuzzy logic. We introduced Fuzzy logic to accurately rep.esent all forms of uncertainties in the data sp.ctrum as the signal p.op.gates from the transceiver to the receiver, thereby p.oducing accurate results. Exp.rimental data were collected across Cyp.us at 3.4 GHz and comp.red with three existing p.th loss models. The fuzzy-logic p.th loss p.ediction model was then develop.d and comp.red with the exp.rimental data and with each of the theoretical emp.rical models, the newly develop.d model p.edicted signal loss with the greatest accuracy as it gives the lowest root-mean-square error. The newly develop.d model is very efficient for signal p.op.gation and p.th loss p.ediction.

Objective:To assess the neurop.otective effects of aqueous extract of Garcinia kola on neurotoxin administered malnourished mice adop.ing histological ***:The study was carried out using thirty-two adult malnourished mice which were randomly assigned into four group.(n=8):A,B,C and *** A served as control,while the other group. served as the exp.rimental *** in group.A were fed malnourished diet ad libitum and given water *** in group.B were administered with 3-Nitrop.op.onic acid(3-Np.(neurotoxin)only at 20 rag/kg body weight,group.C were given only Garcinia kola extracts,and group.D were p.e-treated with Garcinia kola extracts at 200 mg/kg for seven days p.ior to administration of neurotoxin at 20 mg/kg body *** three days of neurotoxins administration in the relevant group.,the brains were excised and fixed in formal calcium for histological ***:The study showed that hip.ocamp.l and cerebellar neurons of animals in group.B exhibited some cellular degeneration and blood vessel blockage,which were not seen in group. A,C and *** violet staining was least intense in group.B than in group. A,C and *** the fact that animals in group.D has equal administration of 3-Nitrop.op.onic acid concentration,there were no traces of neural degeneration as it was evidenced in group.***:It is concluded that Garcinia kola has p.otective effects on the neurons of the hip.ocamp.s and cerebellum of malnourished mice.

An electrical resistivity sounding investigation was carried out within the vicinity of some hand dug wells at Temidire Quarters in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. The aim of this study was to comp.re dep.h and thickness resolution p.wer of Schlumberger and Wenner arrays. The investigation involved twenty-four vertical electrical soundings (VES) which consisted of twelve Schlumberger array VES and twelve Wenner array VES. The VES results delineated geoelectric layers beneath each VES locations, their layer resistivities, layer thicknesses and dep.h to aquifer layer(s). Dep.h to aquifer layer was also determined from static water level measurement and this aided the aquifer layer delineation from VES results. The geoelectric sounding results showed that the study area is dominated by a KH-curve typ. which consists of top.soil, clay/weathered layer, fractured basement and fresh basement. Results from both Schlumberger and Wenner array data were correlated with the static water level measurement;Schlumberger array was found to have higher correlation value than Wenner array.

Equations of dynamic systems in drop.et distribution at high p.essure and boundary value flows in the swirl chamber of a swirl nozzle were used in conjunction with momentum equations of forces on moving curved vanes to develop.mathematical models.A comp.ter p.ogram in C++language was develop.d and used to simulate the effect of some flow and geometric p.rameters,including flow rate,p.essure and swirl chamber diameter,on the sp.ay p.rformance of a high p.essure agro-forestry swirl *** of the three p.rformance p.rameters of axial flow rate,sp.ay cone angle and outp.t discharge(or p.rformance)coefficient were studied as a function of any two combinations of the nozzle sup.ly p.essure,exit orifice diameter and swirl chamber *** study established that the sp.ay cone angle of the discharge flow p.ttern varied from the minimum value of 40°for a swirl chamber diameter of 90 mm to 220°for 40 mm as the exit orifice diameter varied from the minimum value of 0.5 mm to 4.0 *** simulated nozzle outp.t discharge coefficient could be varied from 0.98,when the nozzle sup.ly p.essure was 400 kp. to the minimum value of 0.001 at any of the other six simulated nozzle sup.ly p.essure values of 200,250,300,350,450 and 500 kp. by varying the exit orifice diameter from 0.5 mm to 4.0 *** p.ttern of variation of the simulated nozzle discharge coefficient values were similar to those obtained by measurement during the validation exercise in the laboratory although their sensitivities to the indep.ndent variables were *** results indicated that the range of nozzle discharge coefficient of 0.80 to 0.98 required for a well designed high p.essure agro-forestry swirl nozzle has been *** the successful develop.ent of the C++comp.ter p.ogram,a useful tool that will cut down on the rigor encountered and time sp.nt by nozzle designers and evaluators during nozzle develop.ent p.ocess has been develop.d in the study.

Land tenure security is p.rtinent to achieving the sustainable develop.ent agenda in cities where land is needed and useful for develop.ent *** emp.rical research has been done to p.ove the imp.rtance of tenure security for investment,resilience,conservation,food security,as well as health and well-being,but it has not been clarified if and how land tenure security could adequately influence p.ace loyalty and satisfaction with the residential environment,as it is clear that p.ace loyalty and satisfaction are p.rtinent to inclusive *** the case of Ibadan City,the study examined how different dimensions of tenure security could determine residents’p.ace loyalty and *** study emp.oyed a survey cross-sectional research design to distribute 514 structured questionnaires to household heads across 4 samp.ed p.ri-urban local government areas while 452 were retrieved for *** regression analysis model was emp.oyed to understand the association between tenure security dimensions and satisfaction(as model I)and loyalty(as model II).For model I,F=8.640,p.0.000,R=0.555,and R^(2)=0.308 were obtained;while for model II,F=9.157,p.0.001,R=0.415,and R^(2)=0.173 were *** thus means that residents’p.ace loyalty and satisfaction can p.rtly be exp.ained by tenure *** p.rticular,resp.ndents with no eviction exp.rience,recognized p.op.rty rights,and invulnerable to eviction have higher odds of being satisfied and ***,we recommend p.otection,imp.ovement,and up.rading of land tenure security as one of the means to p.omote p.ace loyalty and satisfaction,which is essential to achieving inclusive and sustainable develop.ent.

Objective:This study comp.red the p.evalence of intestinal helminths in Water,Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH) intervention and non-intervention communities in Abeokuta,***:Stool samp.es were collected from 225 resp.ndents in a study carried out between July and November,*** samp.es were examined for p.esence of helminths using Formol-Ether concentration *** collected from stool samp.es were analyzed using Sp.S for Windows(version 16).Results:Results showed that,at the intervention community,88 out of 113 resp.ndents were infected with at least one helminth infection while at non-intervention community,80 out of 112 resp.ndents were *** result revealed overall helminth p.evalence of78% at Mawuko and 71% at *** both intervention(Mawuko) and non-intervention(Isolu) communities,hookworm was the most p.evalent helminth observed(21% and18%,resp.ctively) followed by Ascaris lumbricoides(13% and 13%,resp.ctively),Taenia sp.(4% and 3%,resp.ctively) and Trichostrongylus sp.(1% and 3%,resp.ctively).Cases of single infections of Trichuris trichiura,Strongyloides stercoralis and Hymenolep.is nana were observed only at the non-intervention ***,*** occurred in the multip.e infections observed at the intervention *** more(p.p.p.rts(32%).Conclusions:This study concludes that the Community Led-Total Sanitation intervention p.ogramme,which was executed in Mawuko was not effective as exp.cted.

The biodegradation of coal discard is being intensively studied in South Africa in an effort to develop.p.ssive methods for the successful revegetation and rehabilitation of waste dump., to mitigate p.llution, and facilitate mine closure. Bacteria were isolated from slurries of coal tailings and diesel-contaminated soil, screened for coal biodegradation comp.tence, characterized, and the colonization and degradation of coal discard and geologically weathered coal investigated using individual isolates and consortia. Ten novel coal-degrading bacterial strains were isolated and characterized, the gene sequences dep.sited with GenBank, and the (wild-typ.) strains dep.sited at Microbial Culture Collection, India. The results from the p.esent work show that bituminous coal discard and geologically weathered coal is used by these isolates as carbon and energy source. Isolated strains and consortia colonized and degraded both coal substrates. Growth rate of the isolates is faster and stationery p.ase achieved sooner in minimal medium containing geologically weathered coal. This observation suggests that the oxygen-rich weathered coal is a more friable substrate and thus readily colonised and biodegraded. A reduction in mass of substrate is demonstrated for both individual isolates and consortia. The changes in p. and associated media colouration occurred concomitant with formation of humic acid-like (HS) and fulvic acid-like substances (FS) which is confirmed following analysis of these p.oducts by FT-IR sp.ctroscop.. It is concluded that p.eferential metabolism of alkanes from the coal substrates p.ovided the carbon and energy for bacterial growth and transformation of the substrates to HS and FS.

Objective: This study investigated the ameliorative p.tential of Zingiber officinale Roscoe extract against lead-induced brain damage in ***: Thirty male rats were divided into 5 group. of 6 rats each. Lead-acetate toxicity was induced by intrap.ritoneal injection(10 mg/kg body weight(b.w.)) in Group. B–E. Group.A(control) and Group.B(lead-acetate) were left untreated; vitamin C(200 mg/kg b.w.) was administered to Group.C; ethyl acetate fraction from Z. officinale extract(200 and 100 mg/kg b.w.) was administered to Group.D and E by oral gavage once daily for 7 days. Changes in the content of some key marker enzymes such as acetylcholinesterase(AChE), butyrylcholinesterase(BChE), monoamine oxidase(MAO), ep.nep.rine, dop.mine,Na^+/K^+-ATp.se, catalase(CAT), sup.roxide dismutase(SOD) and glutathione p.roxidase(Gp.) as well as malonaldehyde(MDA) levels were determined in ***: Exp.sure to lead acetate resulted in a significant decrease(p.p.se, SOD, CAT and Gp. with a corresp.nding increase in the levels of MDA, xanthine oxidase, ep.nep.rine, dop.mine and MAO relative to the control group. Levels of all disrup.ed p.rameters were alleviated by co-administration of Z. officinale fraction and by the standard drug, vitamin ***: These results suggest that ethyl acetate fraction of Z. officinale extract attenuates leadinduced brain damage and might have therap.utic p.tential as a sup.lement that can be ap.lied in lead p.isoning.
