Background: In vitro fertilization (IVF) has emerged as a transformative solution for infertility. However, achieving favorable live-birth outcomes remains challenging. Current clinical IVF practices in IVF involve the collection of heterogeneous embryo data through diverse methods, including static images and temporal videos. However, traditional embryo selection methods, primarily reliant on visual inspection of morphology, exhibit variability and are contingent on the experience of practitioners. Therefore, an automated system that can evaluate heterogeneous embryo data to predict the final outcomes of live births is highly ***: We employed artificial intelligence (AI) for embryo morphological grading, blastocyst embryo selection, aneuploidy prediction, and final live-birth outcome prediction. We developed and validated the AI models using multitask learning for embryo morphological assessment, including pronucleus type on day 1 and the number of blastomeres, asymmetry, and fragmentation of blastomeres on day 3, using 19,201 embryo photographs from 8271 patients. A neural network was trained on embryo and clinical metadata to identify good-quality embryos for implantation on day 3 or day 5, and predict live-birth outcomes. Additionally, a 3D convolutional neural network was trained on 418 time-lapse videos of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT)-based ploidy outcomes for the prediction of aneuploidy and consequent live-birth ***: These two approaches enabled us to automatically assess the implantation potential. By combining embryo and maternal metrics in an ensemble AI model, we evaluated live-birth outcomes in a prospective cohort that achieved higher accuracy than experienced embryologists (46.1%vs. 30.7% on day 3, 55.0%vs. 40.7% on day 5). The recurrent extreme El Niño events are commonly linked to reduced vegetation growth and the land carbon sink over many but discrete regions of the Northern Hemisphere(NH).However,we reported here a pervasive and continuous vegetation greening and no weakened land carbon sink in the maturation phase of the 2015/2016 El Niño event over the NH(mainly in the extra-tropics),based on multiple evidences from remote sensing observations,global ecosystem model simulations and atmospheric CO_(2)*** discovered a significant compensation effect of the enhanced vegetation growth in spring on subsequent summer/autumn vegetation growth that sustained vegetation greening and led to a slight increase in the land carbon sink over the spring and summer of 2015(average increases of 23.34%and 0.63%in net ecosystem exchange from two independent datasets relative to a 5-years average before the El Niño event,respectively)and spring of 2016(6.82%),especially in the extra-tropics of the NH,where the water supply during the pre-growing-season(November of the previous year to March of the current year)had a positive *** seasonal compensation effect was much stronger than that in 1997 and 1998 and significantly alleviated the adverse impacts of the 2015/2016 El Niño event on vegetation growth during its maturation *** legacy effect of water supply during the pre-growing-season on subsequent vegetation growth lasted up to approximately six *** findings highlight the role of seasonal compensation effects on mediating the land carbon sink in response to episodic extreme El Niño events.

Climate warming is causing rapid permafrost degradation,including thaw-induced subsidence,potentially resulting in heightened carbon ***,our understanding of the levels and variations of carbon components in permafrost,particularly during the degradation process,remains *** uncertainties arising from this process lead to inaccurate assessments of the climate effects during permafrost *** vast expanses of permafrost in the Tibetan Plateau,there is limited research available on SOC components,particularly in the central Tibetan *** remarkable variations in hydrothermal conditions across different areas of the Tibetan Plateau,the existing limited studies make it challenging to assess the overall SOC components in the permafrost across the Tibetan Plateau and simulate their future *** this study,we examined the properties of soil organic carbon(SOC)and microbial necromass carbon(MicrobialNC)in a representative permafrost thaw-subsidence area at the southern edge of continuous permafrost in the central Tibetan *** results indicate that prior to the thaw-subsidence,the permafrost had a SOC content of 72.68±18.53 mg g^(-1),with MicrobialNC accounting for 49.6%.The thaw-subsidence of permafrost led to a 56.4%reduction in SOC,with MicrobialNC accounting for 70.0%of the lost *** constitutes the primary component of permafrost SOC,and it is the main component that is lost during thaw-subsidence *** in MicrobialNC are primarily correlated with factors pH,plant input,and microbial *** present study holds crucial implications for both the ecological and biogeochemical processes associated with carbon release from permafrost,and it furnishes essential data necessary for modeling the global response of permafrost to climate *** on this study and previous research,permafrost thawing in the Tibetan Plateau causes substantial loss of ***,there's remarkable heterogeneit

Ureas are widely used in drugs,materials and catalysts because of their diamide structure,which can form strong hydrogen ***,it is of great scientific significance to develop efficient and green methods for the synthesis of urea compounds,especially unsymmetrical ***,we have disclosed novel and highly efficient three-component coupling reactions of organic halides,sodium cyanate and amines enabled by nickel/photoredox dual catalysis for the preparation of unsymmetrical *** reaction features simple and safe operations,broad substrate scopes,and product *** allows the facile synthesis of N-aryl/vinyl ureas from readily available,user-friendly feedstocks under mild conditions(27 examples,36%—98%yields).In addition,this method is further derived to alcohols as nucleophiles to synthesize a series of carbamates(15 examples,40%—95%yields).The mechanism experiment shows that the isocyanate produced by the coupling of halide and sodium cyanate may be the key intermediate in this reaction.

Vapor catalysis was recently found to play a crucial role in superclean graphene growth via chemical vapor decomposition(CVD).However,knowledge of vapor-phase catalysis is scarce,and several fundamental issues,including vapor compositions and their impact on graphene growth,are ***,by combining density functional theory(DFT)calculations,an ideal gas model,and a designed experiment,we found that the vapor was mainly composed of Cui clusters with tens of *** vapor pressure was estimated to be~10^(-12)-10^(-1)1 bar under normal low-pressure CVD system(LPCVD)conditions for graphene growth,and the exposed surface area of Cui clusters in the vapor was 22-269 times that of the Cu substrate surface,highlighting the importance of vapor *** calculations show Cu clusters,represented by Cu17,have strong capabilities for adsorption,dehydrogenation,and decomposition of *** exhibit an adsorption lifetime and reaction flux six orders of magnitude higher than those on the Cu surface,thus providing a sufficient supply of active C atoms for rapid graphene growth and improving the surface cleanliness of the synthesized *** experimental validation showed that increasing the amount of Cu vapor improved the as-synthesized graphene growth rate and surface *** study provides a comprehensive understanding of vapor catalysis and the fundamental basis of vapor control for superclean graphene rapid growth.
