This paper presents a study of the segmentation of medical *** paper provides a solid introduction to image enhancement along with image segmentation *** the first step,the morphological operations are employed to ensure image detail protection and *** objective of using morphological operations is to remove the defects in the texture of the ***,the Fuzzy C-Means(FCM)clustering algorithm is used to modify membership function based only on the spatial neighbors instead of the distance between pixels within local spatial neighbors and cluster *** proposed technique is very simple to implement and significantly fast since it is not necessary to compute the distance between the neighboring pixels and the cluster *** is also efficient when dealing with noisy images because of its ability to efficiently improve the membership partition *** results are performed on different medical image ***(Us),X-ray(Mammogram),Computed Tomography(CT),Positron emission Tomography(PeT),and Magnetic Resonance(MR)images are the main medical image modalities used in this *** obtained results illustrate that the proposed technique can achieve good results with a short time and efficient image *** results on different image modalities show that the proposed technique can achieve segmentation accuracies of 98.83%,99.71%,99.83%,99.85%,and 99.74%for Us,Mammogram,CT,PeT,and MRI images,respectively.

In the literature,numerous techniques have been employed to decrease noise in medical image modalities,including X-Ray(XR),Ultrasonic(Us),Computed Tomography(CT),Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI),and Positron emission Tomography(PeT).These techniques are organized into two main classes:the Multiple Image(MI)and the Single Image(SI)*** the MI techniques,images usually obtained for the same area scanned from different points of view are used.A single image is used in the entire procedure in the SI *** denoising techniques can be carried out both in a transform or spatial *** paper is concerned with single-image noise reduction techniques because we deal with single medical *** most well-known spatial domain noise reduction techniques,including Gaussian filter,Kuan filter,Frost filter,Lee filter,Gabor filter,Median filter,Homomorphic filter,Speckle reducing anisotropic diffusion(SRAD),Nonlocal-Means(NL-Means),and Total Variation(TV),are ***,the transform domain noise reduction techniques,including wavelet-based and Curvelet-based techniques,and some hybridization techniques are ***,a deep(Convolutional Neural Network)CNN-based denoising model is proposed to eliminate Gaussian and Speckle noises in different medical image *** model utilizes the Batch Normalization(BN)and the ReLU as a basic *** a result,it attained a considerable improvement over the traditional *** previously mentioned techniques are evaluated and compared by calculating qualitative visual inspection and quantitative parameters like Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR),Correlation Coefficient(Cr),and system complexity to determine the optimum denoising algorithm to be applied *** on the quality metrics,it is demonstrated that the proposed deep CNN-based denoising model is efficient and has superior denoising performance over the traditionaldenoising techniques.

AIM:To investigate the effects of adenosine triphosphate(ATP)and melatonin,which have antioxidant and antiinflammatory activities,on potential 5-fluorouracil(5-FU)-induced optic nerve damage in ***:Twenty-four rats were categorized into four groups of six rats:healthy(HG),5-FU(FUG),ATP+5-FU(AFU),and melatonin+5-FU(MFU).ATP(4 mg/kg)and melatonin(10 mg/kg)were administered intraperitoneally and orally,*** hour after ATP and melatonin administration,rats in the AFU,MFU,and FUG were intraperitoneally injected with 5-FU(100 mg/kg).ATP and melatonin were administered once daily for 10d.5-FU was administered at a single dose on days 1,3,and 5 of the *** 10d,the rats were euthanized and optic nerve tissues were *** nerve tissues were biochemically and histopathologically ***:ATP and melatonin treatments inhibited the increase in malondialdehyde(MDA)and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels,which were elevated in the *** treatments also prevented the decrease in total glutathione(tGSH)levels and the superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)activities(Per in the ATP group than in the melatonin group(Pevented histopathological damage better than melatonin(Pelatonin have the potential to be used in alleviating 5-FU-induced optic nerve *** addition,ATP treatment shows better protective effects than melatonin.

感潮河段是受到人类活动和潮汐水动力影响的典型河口区域,深刻理解其溶解有机质(DOM)来源组成的动态变化对于研究河口有机质的迁移转化和碳循环至关重要.本研究于2022年干季(5月)和湿季(10月)在大沽河下游感潮河段采集了不同潮周期的水体样品,进行了盐度、叶绿素、溶解有机碳及DOM的紫外-可见吸收光谱和三维荧光光谱分析.结果显示,湿季陆地径流大,初级生产力高,但DOM以陆地径流输入的芳香性化合物和类腐殖质为主,并且落潮期养殖废水的排放增加了近海站位类腐殖质的含量;干季陆地径流小初级生产力低,在人类污水排放的影响下大沽河感潮河段DOM不仅富含陆源类腐殖质也富集了大量的类蛋白,并且在落潮期含量高.主成分和相关性分析表明,陆地径流量和初级生产力是干湿两季DOM含量及组成差异的重要调控因素;并且在干季潮汐水动力通过调控淡水团和海水团的混合影响陆地径流惰性物质(芳香性化合物和类腐殖质)和活性类蛋白的输入和输出,增加陆源有机质在感潮河段的生物地球化学转化周期,从而改变向海输送的有机碳通量.这些结果认识为研究河口有机质的来源和迁移转化提供了数据支撑和参考依据.

Using 3-D magnetic modeling to evaluate subsurface structures of the Siwa Oasis,Western Desert,egypt

This work was designed to study the subsurface structures in the Siwa Oasis area of the Western Desert in egypt and to determine their effects on surface geologic structures. A detailed land magnetic survey was performed in traverses covering about 400 km2 of the study area. The measured total magnetic field was corrected and reduced to the north magnetic pole. The reduction-to-pole aeromagnetic and Bouguer anomaly maps were used to obtain regional extensions of these subsurface structures, study the continuation of these structures in sedimentary rocks, and delineate the depths to the basement rocks. Data analysis was performed using trend analysis, euler deconvolution, Werner deconvolution, the Hilbert transform of the analytical signal, and 3-dimensional magnetic modeling methods. The results indicate that the area is affected by tectonic forces in the e-W, N45°-65°e, and N35°-45°W trends, which are correlated with the directions of surface geologic lineaments. The depth to the basement rocks increases from 3.2 km in the southern part to about 3.6 km in the northern part of the area. The results are in good agreement with depths obtained from drill hole data in the area.

Dark count rate and band to band tunneling optimization for single photon avalanche diode topologies

This paper proposes two optimal designs of single photon avalanche diodes(SPADs) minimizing dark count rate(DCR). The first structure is introduced as p^+/pwell/nwell, in which a specific shallow pwell layer is added between p^+and nwell layers to decrease the electric field below a certain threshold. The simulation results show on average 19.7%and 8.5% reduction of p^+/nwell structure’s DCR comparing with similar previous structures in different operational excess bias and temperatures respectively. Moreover, a new structure is introduced as n+/nwell/pwell, in which a specific shallow nwell layer is added between n+and pwell layers to lower the electric field below a certain threshold. The simulation results show on average 29.2% and 5.5% decrement of p^+/nwell structure’s DCR comparing with similar previous structures in different operational excess bias and temperatures respectively. It is shown that in higher excess biases(about 6 volts), the n+/nwell/pwell structure is proper to be integrated as digital silicon photomultiplier(dSiPM) due to low DCR. On the other hand, the p^+/pwell/nwell structure is appropriate to be utilized in dSiPM in high temperatures(above 50?C) due to lower DCR value.
