BACKGROUND Vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia(VITT)is a rare and potentially life-threatening condition after receiving coronavirus disease *** is characterized by symptom onset at 5 to 30 d postvaccination,thrombocytopenia,thrombosis,high D-dimer level,and antiplatelet factor 4(anti-PF4)antibody *** can progress very fast,requiring urgent *** few studies have described its deta.led clinical course and imaging *** report a typical VITT case in a patient who underwent regular repeated brain imaging *** SUMMARY A young woman presented with headaches at 7 d after the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19vaccine(AZD1222)*** then showed progressive symptoms of left upper limb *** computed tomography revealed venous infarction at the right parieta. lobe with a hyperacute thrombus in the cortical *** hours later,brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed hemorrhage at the same *** resonance venography showed an irregular contour of the right transverse *** examination revealed a high D-dimer level,thrombocytopenia,and a high titer for anti-PF4 *** was treated with anticoagulants,intravenous immunoglobulin,and steroids and analgesic agents were administered for pain *** had a marked improvement on headaches and clumsiness after treatment along with radiological thrombus *** follow-up at the outpatient department,her modified Rankin scale at 90 d was *** Clinicians should be alerted whenever patients present with persistent and progressive headaches or focal motor/sensory deficits postvaccination.

The sizes and concentrations of 21 atmospheric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were measured at Jhu-Shan (a rural site) and Sin-Gang (a town site) in central ta.wan in October and December 2005. Air samples were collected using semi-volatile sampling trains (PS-1 sampler) over 16 days for rice straw burning and non-burning periods. These samples were then analyzed using a gas chromatograph with a flame-ionization detector (GC/FID). Particle-size distributions in the particulate phase show a bi-mode, peaking at 0.32-0.56 μm and 3.2-5.6 μm at the two sites during non-burning period. The concentrations of tota. PAHs (sum of 21 gases + particles) at the Jhu-Shan site (Sin-Gang site) were 522.9 ± 111.4 ng/m3 (571.8 ± 90.9 ng/m3) and 330.1 ± 17.0 ng/m3 (or 427.5 ± 108.0 ng/m3) during burning and non-burning periods, respectively, accounting for a roughly 58% (or 34%) increase in the concentrations of tota. PAHs due to rice-straw burning. On average, low-weight PAHs (about 87.0%) represent the largest proportion of tota. PAHs, followed by medium-weight PAHs (7.1%) and high-weight PAHs (5.9%). Combustion-related PAHs during burning periods were 1.54-2.57 times higher than those during non-burning periods.

采用Tenax-ta.附/热脱附-气相色谱法(TD-GC)对大学校园室内外空气中5种苯系物(BTEX,苯、甲苯、乙苯、间/对-二甲苯和邻二甲苯)的平均浓度进行了检测。检测结果显示,5种苯系物的平均浓度均低于国家标准值。被测空气的苯系物中甲苯所占比例最大,为27.9%～32.0%。室内BTEX浓度稍高于室外,多数采样点的室内浓度与室外浓度比值(CI/CO)大于1.0。通风可有效降低空气中苯系物浓度。大学校园室内空气中的苯对学生的致癌风险为3.67×10-7～1.09×10-6。

Solid lithium-sulfur batteries(SLSBs)show potential for practical application due to their possibility for high energy ***,SLSBs still face tough challenges such as the large interface impedance and lithium dendrite ***,a highperformance SLSB is demonstrated by using a fiber network reinforced Li_(6.75)La_(3)Zr_(1.75)ta.(0.25)O_(12)(LLZTO)based composite solid electrolyte(CSE)in combination with sulfurized polyacrylonitrile(SPAN)*** CSE consisting of an electrospun polyimide(PI)film,LLZTO ionically conducting filler and polyacrylonitrile(PAN)matrix,which is named as PI-PAN/LLZTO CSE,possesses high room-temperature ionic conductivity(2.75×10^(-4)S/cm),high Li^(+)migration number(tLi+)of 0.67 and good interfacial *** is utilized due to its unique electrochemical properties:reasonable electronic conductivity and no polysulfides shuttle *** CSE enables a highly sta.le Li plating/stripping cycle for over 600 h and good rate ***,the assembled SLSB exhibits good cycle performance of accomplishing 120 cycles at 0.2 C with the capacity retention of 474 mAh/g,good rate properties and excellent long-term cycling sta.ility with a high capacity retention of 86.49%from 15^(th)to 1,000^(th)cycles at 1.0 *** work rationalizes our design concept and may guide the future development of SLSBs.

Modified Laser Speckle Imaging with Adaptive Window

One of the advanta.es of laser speckle is detecting microvascular through image processing. This paper proposes a new image processing method for laser speckle, adaptive window method that adaptively processes laser speckle images in the space. Disadvanta.e of conventional fixed window method is that it uses the same window size regardless of ta.get areas. Inherently laser speckle conta.ns undesired noise. Thus a large window is helpful for removing the noise, but it results in low resolution of image. Otherwise a small window may detect micro vascular but it has limits in noise removal. To overcome this trade-off, the concept of adaptive window method is newly introduced to conventional laser speckle image analysis. In addition, the modified adaptive window method applied to other selection images. We have compared conventional Laser Speckle Contrast Analysis （LASCA） and its variants with the proposed method in terms of image quality and processing complexity, Moreover compared the result of the accompamed changing sdection images have also been compared.

Correlation between Coating Adhesion and Damage Threshold: Simple Method of Reliability Assessment for Optoelectronic Applications

It is demonstrated that inherent coating adhesion and damage threshold are correlated for ta.O5 and HfO2 coatings widely used in optoelectronic devices. By utilizing a newly proposed 1-h boiling water test combined with the optical aging under high-power laser irradiation, we show that an optical coating that survives the 1-h boiling water test withsta.ds the damage threshold, ensuring the field service life even in harsh environments. Besides the sta.dard evaluation methods, which may have limita.ions for applications required in harsh environments, the 1-h boiling water test can serve as an alternative method of reliability assessment for optical coatings. A heuristics herein can be used as a gating item for qualification of optical coatings for various applications.

为更好地保护和管理部分哺乳类动物及其栖息地 ,自 2 0 0 1年 6月至 2 0 0 2年 3月在韩国白头大干山脉 8个被道路切割的林区内调查了道路两边一定距离内所见哺乳动物随距离增加而变化的丰富度。我们共调查了 10种哺乳类 (野猪、狍、獐、黄鼬、貉、豹猫、华南兔、松鼠、花鼠、鼹 )的各种痕迹 (粪便、足迹、食痕、卧迹及休息处 ) ,发现距道路近处两边的丰富度确有较大下降。这说明道路建设的确影响哺乳类的生境选择及其利用方式。所以今后在道路设计、管理及扩充等方面均需充分考虑和满足所有野生动物整个生命过程所需的空间要求。

Finger Flexion Motion Inference from sEMG Signals

This paper provides a method to infer finger flexing motions using a 4-channel surface Electronyogram （sEMG）. Surface EMGs are hannless to the humnan body and easily done. however, they do not reflect the activity of specific nerves or muscles, unlike invasive EMCs. On the other hand, the non-invasive type is difficult to use for discriminating various motions while using only a small number of electrodes. Surface EMG data.in this study were obta.ned from four electodes placed around the forearm. The motions were the flexion of each 5 single fingers （thumb, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and little fingers）. One subject was trained with these motions and another left was untrained. The maximum likelihood estimation method was used to infer the finger motion. Experimenta. results have showed that this method could be useful for recognizing finger *** average accuracy was as high as 95%.

An efficient and simple method for constructing a genomic DNA library using a ta.loning vector is presented. It is based on the sonicative cleavage of genomic DNA and modification offragment ends with ta. DNA polymerase, followed by ligation using a ta.vector. This method was ap-plied for cloning of the phytoene synthase gene crtB from Spirulina platensis. This method is useful whengenomic DNA cannot be efficiently digested with restriction enzymes, a problem often encountered duringthe construction of a genomic DNA library of cyanobacteria.
