AIM To investigate recruitment, retention, and estimatesfor effects of formula supplementation withLactobacillus rhamnosus GG （LGG） on inflammatorybiomarkers and fecal microbial community in infants ***： A prospective, double-blind, placebocontrolledtrial was conducted in otherwise healthyinfants with colic. We screened 74 infants and randomizedand analyzed results in 20 infants [9 receivingLGG （LGG＋） and 11 not receiving LGG （LGG-）]. LGG wasincorporated in the formula （Nutramigen？）（minimum of3 × 10^7 CFU/d） in the LGG＋ group. Fecal microbiota andinflammatory biomarkers, including fecal calprotectin（FC）, plasma cytokines, circulating regulatory T cells（Tregs）, and crying ＋ fussing time were analyzed todetermine optimal time points and effect sizes for alarger ***： Recruitment in this population was slow, withabout 66% of eligible infants willing to enroll; subjectretention was better （75%）. In this study,we reported on the concept and practical use of cation exchange resin(CER)for removing anions in water via pretreating the CER with metal *** cation exchange resinsupported iron and magnesium oxides/hydroxides composite(FeMg/CER)was synthesized and introduced as a new and potential adsorbent for selective removal of nitrate ion in the water *** of FeMg/CER were determined by techniques such as Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,and Xray *** results showed that FeMg/CER material had a high nitrate adsorption capacity of 200 mg NO_(3)^()·g^(1)with a fast equilibrium adsorption time of 30 min at pH *** addition,it had good durability of at least 10 times of regeneration,which could be applied to practical water and wastewater treatment.

Piaoac Granites Related W-Sn Mineralization, Northern Vietnam: Evidences from Geochemistry, Zircon Geochronology and Hf Isotopes

Piaoac granites exposed in the Cao Bang region, northern Vietnam, are S-type granite, which are associated with W-Sn-Mo-Be-F mineralization. Zircon U-Pb ages, major and trace elements, mineral chemical and Hf isotopic compositions of the W-Sn-bearing granites from the Piaoac District have been investigated in detail. LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating of zircon grains from these granites yielded ages of 82.5±2.3 and 82±1.8 Ma, representing an episode of Late Cretaceous magmatic event. These granites are characterized by high peraluminous and have typical S-type geochemical signatures with high SiO_2(72.37 wt.%–73.07 wt.%), high A/CNK values(1.61–1.65) and Al_2O_3(14.4 wt.%–15 wt.%). They are enriched in Rb, U, K, Th, ta and Pb and display pronounced negative Ba, Sr, Nb, Ti and Eu(Eu/Eu*=0.19–0.24) anomalies. The high degree of fractional crystallization is characterized by low Rb, Sr, Ba and Eu concentrations with high ratios of La/Sm and Eu/Eu*. Zircon grains show εHf(t) values from-9.69 to-0.9 and the corresponding TDM2 range from 1.2 to 1.7 Ga, indicating that these granites could be derived from the Proterozoic basement rocks with minor input from mantle-derived magmas. The calculation of Fe^(3+) and Fe^(2+) of biotites indicates a low oxygen fugacity condition(log fO_2 ranging from 10-17 to 10-18 bars, below MH), which is favorable for the W-Sn mineralization. Tungsten and tin have been enriched in granitic magmas through fractionation, and low oxygen fugacity conditions have promoted the accumulation and transportation of W-Sn in the hydrothermal fluids, leading to deposition of mineral phases. The geochemical data suggest that Piaoac granites formed in an extensional setting related with the Late Cretaceous magmatism occurring large-scale lithospheric extensional in South China Block.

Surveillance of dengue and chikungunya infection in Dong Thap,Vietnam:A 13-month study

已知斑岩铜-钼-金矿床类型是重要的斑岩型矿床之一,提供了世界上50%以上的金属铜资源,因此质学家对该类型的矿床十分关注。通过多年来的研究表明,斑岩型矿床主要产于大洋片俯冲产生的岛弧和陆缘弧环境,后碰撞走滑环境与碰撞伸展环境。斑岩型铜-钼-金矿床形成与中酸性的钙碱岩浆系列或高钾岩浆系列有十分重要的关系。位于三江构造带的东南侧,中南半岛中心地区存在三棋-福山与PoKo两条缝合带,同时发育一系列的混杂岩,蛇绿岩与弧岩浆组合。昆嵩地块位于研究区的中心,该地块被认为是冈瓦纳古大陆的一部分,主要由高级变质岩与岩浆岩组成,其中岩浆岩组合主要包括三叠纪的花岗岩与二叠-三叠纪的火山沉积岩。与古太平洋板片向西俯冲活动有关的侏罗纪火山岩局部发育。第四纪玄武岩广泛覆盖在各种岩石之上形成西原高原的地形。在印支期,昆嵩地块往西北方向碰撞,形成PoKo缝合带。该缝合带由一系列的不连续蛇绿岩体(Pleiweik杂岩)组成,并发育了超高温麻粒岩、角闪岩、绿片岩和硅质岩。沿着Po Ko缝合带出露一系列岩浆岩体,它们与Cu-Mo-Au矿化尤其是Dac To-SaThay斑岩Cu-Mo-Au矿化带的形成密切相关。地球化学研究结果表明这些岩体具有低 TiO2(0,20-0,60%)、低 P2O5(ta、Nb、Ti呈明显的“TNT”负异常。锆石Hf同位素分析结果表明该岩石组合的岩浆来源接近于富集地幔EM2。这些结果表明该岩浆岩组合具有弧岩浆的特征。通过Re-Os方法得到的成矿年龄为238.6±1.7Ma,而花岗岩的锆石U-Pb年龄为239至241Ma,说明该岩浆组合与相关的斑岩Cu-Mo-Au矿化的形成与印支期运动有关。

Soil Gas Radon Measurement for Identifying Active Faults in Thua Thien Hue (Vietnam)

The solid-state nuclear track detectors have long been applied to assess the activity of tectonic faults. We measured the Radon (Rn) concentration in soil gas on 09 profiles with a total of 245 measurement points in Thua Thien Hue area (Vietnam). Measurement results show that the Rn concentration in soil gas ranges from ~10 Bq/m3 to 144,570 Bq/m3. There is a clear difference in the Rn concentration on the granite rock of Dai Loc complex compared to the remaining rocks. The calculated background value and anomaly threshold of Rn concentration on the granite rock of Dai Loc complex and on the remaining rocks are 33,488 Bq/m3, 82,839 Bq/m3 and 5313 Bq/m3, 24,850 Bq/m3 respectively. Spatial distribution of Rn concentration in soil gas reflects the existence of faults since Rn concentration increases at the points above or near fault lines. The level of expression of fault activity is assessed by radon activity index (KRn), which is calculated by the ratio of anomaly value to background value of Rn concentration. According to KRn, in Thua Thien Hue area, only the Dakrong-Hue fault shows a strong expression of activity with high and very high KRn (the maximum KRn = 27.21). The Truong Son, Huu Trach River, ta Trach River and Bo River fault zones do not show clear activity with low and medium KRn. There is no Rn anomaly value recorded on the Rao Trang fault, demonstrating that it is likely to be inactive at present. The study results indicate that the Rn concentration in soil gas is a strong evidence of the existence of faults or tectonic fracture zones as the Rn concentration always increases at the points above or near the fault line.

Antibiofilm activity of a-mangostin extracted from Garcinia mangostana L. against Staphylococcus aureus

Objective: To isolate a-mangostin(AMG) from the peels of mangosteen(Garcinia mangostana L.), grown in Vietnam, and to investigate antibiofilm activity of this compound against three Staphylococcus aureus(S. aureus) strains, one of which was methicillin-resistant S. aureus(MRSA) and the other two strains were methicillinsensitive S. aureus(MSSA).Methods: AMG in n-hexane fraction was isolated on a silica gel column and chemically analyzed by HPLC and NMR. The antibiofilm activity of this compound was investigated by using a 96-well plate model for the formation of biofilms. Biofilm biomass was quantified using crystal violet. The viability of cells was observed under confocal microscopy using LIVE/DEAD Bac Light stains. Biofilm composition was determined using specific chemical and enzyme tests for polysaccharide, protein and DNA. Membranedamaging activity was assayed by measuring the hemolysis of human red blood cells in presence of ***: The results indicated that the isolated AMG, with a purity that exceeded 98%,had minimal inhibitory concentrations in the range of 4.6–9.2 mmol/L for the three strains tested. Interestingly, the MSSA strains were more sensitive to AMG than the MRSA strain. Minimal bactericidal concentrations were 2-fold higher than the minimal inhibitory concentration values for the three strains, indicating that AMG was a bactericidal compound. AMG also prevented biofilm formation effectively, albeit that again the MRSA strain was the most resistant. Interestingly, biofilms of the MRSA strain contained protein as a main component of the extracellular matrix, whereas this was polysaccharide in the MSSA strains. This might relate to the resistance of the MRSA 252 strain to *** using human red blood cells indicated that AMG caused significant membrane damage with 50% of cell lysis occurred at concentration of about 36 mmol/***: Our results provide evidence that the isolated AMG has inhibitory activity against biofilm formation

为研究江西省齐云山国家级自然保护区的鸟类和兽类多样性,于2017年2月至2019年11月,利用红外相机技术对保护区及其周边地区进行调查。研究期间共布设60个相机监测位点,覆盖60个公里网格,累计29809个相机工作日,共拍摄到8167张独立有效照片,鉴定出16种野生兽类和49种野生鸟类,分别隶属4目11科和9目19科,其中包括国家一级保护重点动物2种,国家二级重点保护动物13种;易危种(vu)3种,近危种(NT)2种。相对多度指数(RAI)排前5位的兽类依次为小麂(Muntiacus reevesi)、鼬獾(Melogale moschata)、红腿长吻松鼠(Dremomys pyrrhomerus)、野猪(Sus scrofa)和果子狸(Paguma larvata);排前5位的鸟类依次为白鹇(Lophura nycthemera)、紫啸鸫(Myophonus caeruleus)、灰胸竹鸡(Bambusicola thoracicus)、华南斑胸钩嘴鹛(Erythrogenys swinhoei)和黑领噪鹛(Garrulax pectoralis)。此次调查记录到的红腿长吻松鼠、绿翅金鸠(Chalcophaps indica)、大鹰鹃(Hierococcyx varius)等11个物种为齐云山国家级自然保护区新记录种。区内海拔>700~1000和>1000~1300 m区间的物种较多(均为48种),常绿阔叶林和落叶阔叶林中的物种最丰富(分别有55和49种)。此次调查结果丰富了保护区生物多样性本底数据库,为后续保护区内的野生动物资源调查监测和保护管理奠定了基础。
