Assessing efficacy of standard impregnation techniques on die-cast aluminum alloys using X-ray micro-CT

Utilizing lightweight Al alloys in various industrial applications requires achieving precise pressure tightness and leak *** pressure impregnation(VPI)with thermosetting polymers is commonly used to address leakage defects in die-cast Al *** this study,the efficacy of the VPI technique in sealing alloy parts was investigated using a combination of nondestructive micro X-ray computed tomography(micro XCT)and a standard leak *** results demonstrate that the commonly used water leak test is insufficient for determining the sealing ***,micro XCT shows distinct advantages by enabling more comprehensive *** reveals the presence of a low atomic number impregnates sealant within casting defects,which has low grey contrast and allows for visualizing primary leakage paths in *** effective atomic number of impregnated resin is 6.75 and that of Al alloy is 13.69 by dual-energy X-ray *** research findings will contribute to enhancing the standard VPI process parameters and the properties of impregnating sealants to improve quality assurance for impregnation in industrial metals.

BACKGROUND Paracoccidioidomycosis(PCM)may involve the hepatic pedicle and peripan creatic lymph nodes,cause damage to the bile duct and manifest,exceptionally,in combination with extrahepatic cholestasis(EHC),making investigation and treatment *** To investigate the management of patients with visceral PCM admitted with *** All patients diagnosed with PCM treated in a public,tertiary teaching hospital between 1982 and 2020 were retrospectively *** also identified with EHC were allocated to two groups according to the treatment approach for the purpose of comparing clinical,laboratory,and imaging findings,resources used for etiological diagnosis,treatment results,and *** analyses were performed using the linear mixed-effects model(random and fixed effects),which was adjusted using the PROC MIXED procedure of the SAS®9.0 software,and Fisher’s exact *** Of 1645 patients diagnosed with PCM,40(2.4%)had *** these,20(50.0%)lived in the rural area and 29(72.5%)were men,with a mean age of 27.1 years(3-65 years).Jaundice as first symptom and weight loss of at least 10 kg were observed in 16 patients(40.0%),and a mass in the head of the pancreas was observed in 8(20.0%).The etiological diagnosis was made by tissue collection during surgery in 4 cases(10.0%)and by endoscopic methods in 3 cases(7.5%).Twenty-seven patients(67.5%)received drug treatment alone(Group 1),whereas 13(32.5%)underwent endoscopic and/or surgical procedures in combination with drug treatment(Group 2).EHC was significantly reduced in both groups(40.7% in Group 1,with a mean time of 3 months;and 38.4% in Group 2,with a mean time of 7.5 months),with no statistically significant difference between *** recurrence rates,associated mainly with treatment nonadherence,were similar in both groups:37% in Group 1 and 15.4% in Group *** mortality rate was 18.5% in Group 1 and 23% in Group 2,with survival estimates of 71.3% and 72.5%,respectively,with

This study investigated the embryonic development of Maldives clownfish Amphiprion nigripes under natural conditions (28 - 30℃) at a lagoon of Agatti Island, Lakshadweep, India. The newly deposited fish egg was capsule-shaped and orange-red, with a (0.73 ± 0.04) mm3 yolk containing 5 - 10 fat globules. The embryonic development of fertilized eggs was divided into 26 stages and the time elapsing for each stage was recorded. Results showed that the cleavage was rapid, with the first division observed 1 h 20 min after fertilization. Blastulation occurred 4 h later, followed by gastrulation 12 h after fertilization, with a yolk volume of (0.61 ± 0.06) mm3. The organogenesis process started 22 h after fertilization when the blastopores closed and notochord formation began. The embryonic stage was recorded 24 h later, with the appearance of forebrain, midbrain, hindbrain, melanophores on yolk-sac and 22 somites, and a decreased yolk volume of (0.54 ± 0.08) mm3. Other organs developed well 31 h after fertilization, whereas the heart started beating and blood circulation began 78 h later. Red pigmentation (erytrophores) appeared 96 h after fertilization, with a small yolk volume of (0.22 ± 0.02) mm3. Mouth developed well and eyes were noticeable 120 h later, with head, pectoral fin and tail frequently moving 144 h after fertilization. The embryo reached the pre-hatching stage 168 h later and started to hatch after 170 - 180 h incubation. This study first detailed the embryonic development and yolk absorption of A. nigripes under natural conditions.

In this paper, more efficient, low-complexity and reliable region of interest （ROI） image codec for compressing smooth low texture remote sensing images is proposed. We explore the efficiency of the modified RO! codec with respect to the selected set of convenient wavelet filters, which is a novel method. Such ROI coding experiment analysis representing low bit rate lossy to high quality lossless reconstruction with timing analysis is useful for improving remote sensing ground truth surveillance efficiency in terms of time and quality. The subjective [i.e. fair, five observer （HVS） evaluations using enhanced 3D picture view Hyper memory display technology] and the objective results revealed that for faster ground truth ROI coding applications, the Symlet-4 adaptation performs better than Biorthogonal 4.4 and Biorthogonal 6.8. However, the discrete Meyer wavelet adaptation is the best solution for delayed ROI image reconstructions.

Background:Studies on animals have demonstrated that maternal iron deficiency anaemia(IDA)could result in decreased cochlear sensory hair cells and reduced amplitudes of distortion-product otoacoustic emissions(DPOAEs)of young guinea ***,it is essential to study the functioning of cochlear hair cells using DPOAEs in human newborn babies with maternal *** current study explores maternal IDA’s effect on DPOAEs in newborn ***:A total of 110 newborn babies with gestational age≥34 weeks were considered and a‘betweensubjects’design was *** participants were divided into 3 groups-“Normal”(61 babies without maternal IDA),“Mild”(28 babies with mild maternal IDA)and“Moderate”(21 babies with moderate maternal IDA).The cord blood was collected and the DPOAEs were recorded for each baby for a range of frequencies(1 k 8 kHz)and a range of intensities(7040 dB SPL in 10 dB steps).Results:The analysis of both DP-gram and DP input-output(I/O)function showed that there was no significant difference(p>0.05)across the normal,mild,and moderate groups in the overall presence of DPOAEs as well as the amplitude across frequencies or intensities(7040 dB SPL).Also,the overall correlation of RBC indices with DPOAE amplitude across frequencies as well as the slope of the I/O function showed no ***:The current study concludes that there is no effect of late-term maternal IDA on the DPOAEs of newborn babies.

A simple and efficient solid iodination method has been proposed for the fabrication of p-type γ-CuI thin *** structural,morphological,optical,electrical and electrochemical properties have been investigated in order to serve as an effective hole-transporting layer in solid-state solar *** fabricated films exhibited p-type conductivity with resistivity of 7.0×10;Ωcm,the hole concentration of ～1.13×10;cm;and the mobility of 18.34 cm;V;s;.The cyclic voltammetry result shows a maximum specific capacitance of 43 mF/cm;at a scan rate of 10 mV/*** cyclic stability and capacitance retention were found to be 99.7%.These findings demonstrate that γ-CuI film can be a potential candidate for multiple applications,such as a hole transporting material for solid-state solar cells and electrochemical supercapacitor.

Breeding and mass scale larval rearing of clownfish Amphiprion percula is very limited in brackishwater. We designed an indoor program of A. percula culture in brackishwater with a salinity of 24±1, during which the impacts of feed type, water temperature, and light intensity, on the efficiency of its reproduction, were revealed. The fish were accommodated along with sea anemones in fibre glass tanks to determine the influence of brooder diet on breeding efficiency. Higher reproductive efficiency [number of eggs laid （276±22.3 eggs）] was observed when fish were fed live Acetes sp. rather than clam （204±16.4 eggs）, trash fish （155±12 eggs） and formulated feed （110±10 eggs）. The spawning rate was increased during September and October （water temperature, 28.74±0.55℃） on average of 2.4 spawning per month; and low spawning rate was in January （water temperature, 24.55±0.45℃） on average of I spawning per month. Among three light intensities （100, 500, and 900 1x） set to evaluate larval survival rate, larvae showed the highest survival rate （65.5%） at 900 lx. The breeding method specifically in brackishwater developed in the present study is a new approach, will help the people from the regions of estuary and backwater to enhance their livelihood and it will lead to reduce the exploitation from the wild habitat.

This study aims to optimize the input parameters such as mass fraction and particle size of SiC along with depth of cut,feed and cutting speed in the milling of Al5059/SiC/*** hybrid metal matrix composites are generally fabricated by reinforcing of different sizes(10,20,40 μm)of SiC with aluminium at a different levels(5%,10%& 15%)whereas the MoS2 addition is fixed as 2%.The effect of each control factor on response variables are analyzed through Taguchi S/N ratio ***,the most significant method for prediction of response parameters is satisfied by ANN model than the regression *** of variance(ANOVA)results envisage that mass fraction of SiC,feed rate is the most domineering factor on response variable.

CRISPR-Cas9 is a powerful tool for generating targeted mutations and genomic ***,precise gene insertion or sequence replacement remains a major hurdle before application of CRISPR-Cas9 technology is fully realized in plant ***,we report high-frequency,selectable marker-free intra-genomic gene targeting(GT)in *** shock-inducible Cas9 was used for generating targeted double-strand breaks and simultaneous mobilization of the donor template from pre-integratad *** construct was designed such that release of the donor template and subsequent DNA repair activated expression of the selectable marker gene within the donor *** approach generated up to 4.7%targeted insertion of the donor sequence into the target locus in TO plants,with up to 86%detected donor template release and 99%mutation rate being observed at the donor loci and the genomic target site,*** previous in planta or intra-genomic homologous recombination reports in which the original chimeric GT plants required extensive progeny screening in the next generation to identify non-chimeric GT individuals,our method provides non-chimeric heritable GT in one generation.
