Effect of Long-Term Application of K Fertilizer and Wheat Straw to Soil on Crop Yield and Soil K Under Different Planting Systems

Effect of application of K fertilizer and wheat straw to soil on crop yield and status of soil K in the plough layer under different planting systems was studied. The experiments on long-term application of K fertilizer and wheat straw to soil in hebei fluvo aquic soil and Shanxi brown soil in northern China were begun in 1992. The results showed that K fertilizer and straw could improve the yields of wheat and maize with the order of NPK ＋ St 〉 NPK 〉 NP ＋ St 〉 NP, and treatment of K fertilizer made a significant difference to NP, and the efficiency of K fertilizer in maize was higher than in wheat under rotation system of hebei. In contrast with Shanxi, the wastage of soil potassium was a more serious issue in the rotation system in hebei, only treatment of NPK ＋ St showed a surplus of potassium and the others showed a wane. K fertilizer and straw could improve the content of water-soluble K, nonspecifically adsorbed K, non-exchangeable K, mineral K, and total K in contrast to NP; however, K fertilizer and straw reduce the proportion of mineral K and improve proportion of other forms of potassium in the two locating sites. Compared with the beginning of orientation, temporal variability character of soil K content and proportion showed a difference between the two soil types; furthermore, there was a decrease in the content of mineral K and total K simultaneously in the two locating sites. As a whole, the effect of K fertilizer applied to soil directly excelled to wheat straw to soil. Wheat straw to soil was an effective measure to complement potassium to increase crop yield and retard the decrease of soil K.

Moment Redistribution Effect of the Continuous Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer-Concrete Composite Slabs Based on Static Loading Experiment

This study aimed to investigate the moment redistribution in continuous glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP)-concrete composite slabs caused by concrete cracking and steel bar yielding in the negative bending moment *** experimental bending moment redistribution test was conducted on continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs,and a calculation method based on the conjugate beam method was *** composite slabs were formed by combining GFRP profiles with a concrete layer and supported on steel beams to create two-span continuous composite slab *** methods,epoxy resin bonding,and stud connection,were used to connect the composite slabs with the steel *** experimental findings showed that the specimen connected with epoxy resin exhibited two moments redistribution phenomena during the loading process:concrete cracking and steel bar yielding at the internal *** contrast,the composite slab connected with steel beams by studs exhibited only one-moment redistribution phenomenon throughout the loading *** the concrete at the internal support cracked,the bending moment decreased in the internal support section and increased in the midspan *** the steel bars yielded,the bending moment further decreased in the internal support section and increased in the mid-span *** GFRP profiles do not experience cracking,there was no significant decrease in the bending moment of the mid-span *** test specimens experienced compressive failure of concrete at the mid-span *** results showed good agreement between the calculated and experimental values of bending moments in the mid-span section and internal support *** proposed model can effectively predict the moment redistribution behavior of continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs.

Yi-Qi-Huo-Xue decoction(YQHX)is the recombination of Dang-Gui-Bu-Xue decoction(DBD),which is one of the well-known traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)prescription,and has long been shown to have significant protective effects against myocardial ischemic *** previous studies,we found that YQHX could regulate lipid and glucose metabolism,promote angiogenesis,attenuate inflammatory response,and ameliorate left ventricular function in myocardial ischemia rat ***,the underlying mechanism of how YQHX involves in lipid metabolism remains unclear so *** this study,the underlying mechanism of YQHX in lipid metabolism disorders was elucidated in a myocardial ischemia rat model and a hypoxia-induced H9 c2 cell injury ***(8.2 g·kg-1)and positive-control drug trimetazidine(10 mg·kg-1)were administered daily on the second day after left anterior descending(LAD)*** 7 days and 28 days after surgery,changes of cardiac morphology,structure,and function were evaluated by H&E staining and echocardiography,*** plasma lipid levels and mitochondrial ATP content were also *** blot and RT-PCR were used to determine the protein and mRNA expressions of AMPK,PGC-1α,CPT-1α,and PPARα.YQHX improved cardiac function and ameliorated lipid metabolism ***,YQHX increased the expression of p-AMPK,PGC-1α,and CPT-1αwithout changing PPARαin ischemic rat *** vitro,YQHX activated the protein and mRNA expression of PGC-1α,CPT-1α,and PPARαin hypoxia-induced H9 c2 cells injury,whereas AMPK inhibitor Compound c blocked the effects of *** together,the results suggest that YQHX reduces lipid metabolism disorders in myocardial ischemia via the AMPK-dependent signaling pathway.

Photon energy response optimization using few-channel spectroscopy dose method for Si-PIN photodetector applied in personal dose equivalent measurements

Si-PIN photodetectors having features such as low cost,small size,low weight,low voltage,and low power consumption are widely used as radiation detectors in electronic personal dosimeters(EPDs).The technical parameters of EPDs based on the Si-PIN photodetectors include photon energy response(PER),angular response,inherent error,and dose rate *** them,PER is a key parameter for evaluation of EPD measurement *** present,owing to the limitations of volume,power consumption,and EPD cost,the PER is usually corrected by a combination of single-channel counting techniques and filtering material ***,the above-mentioned methods have problems such as poor PER and low measurement *** solve such problems,in this study,a 1024-channel spectrometry system using a Si-PIN photodetector was developed and fullspectrum measurement in the reference radiation fields was conducted for radiation *** measurement results using the few-channel spectroscopy dose method showed that the PER could be controlled within±14%and±2%under the conditions of two and three energy intervals,respectively,with different channel *** PER measured at 0°angle of radiation incidence meets the-29%to+67%requirements of IEC 61526:***,the channel number and counts-to-dose conversion factors formed in the experiment can be integrated into an EPD.

Wildfire bears a close relationship with vegetation as its fuel *** southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau witnesses frequent wildfires among various types of vegetation,whereas such wide in-teractions between wildfire and vegetation remain poorly studied from geological *** this study,we reported a local fire using sedimentary macroscopic charcoals from the latest Miocene to early Pliocene of the Baoshan Basin in this region,and then inferred the local vegetation at the time of the fire event based chiefly on the coexistent fruit and seed fossil *** taxonomic results show that the charcoal assemblage is probably dominated by broadleaved plants and the fruit and seed fossil assemblage is apparently dominated by Salix(Salicaceae)followed by Sambucus(Adoxaceae),suggesting a deciduous broadleaved forest in which the fire likely *** a seasonally dry climate associated with the Asian monsoon,this type of vegetation might be prone to natural fire,because in the wet rainy season the plants grew well to accumulate biofuel and in the dry season abundant ground litter resulting from leaf decay would be desiccated to become highly *** to the fire-tolerant habit of Salix as the dominant plant,the forest might be in return adapted to the fire event or even more fires that potentially *** these may suggest a close relationship between the fire event and the reconstructed *** finding documents a new type of wildfire—vegetation interaction,namely the interaction between wildfire and deciduous broadleaved forest,from the geological past at the southeastern margin of the Tibetan *** therefore sheds new light on the wildfire history coupling vegetation change in the region.

Effects of the combined application of organic and chemical nitrogen fertilizer on soil aggregate carbon and nitrogen:A 30-year study

To understand the long-term effects of combined organic and chemical nitrogen fertilization on soil organic C(SOC) and total N(TN), we conducted a 30-year field experiment with a wheat–maize rotation system on the huang-HuaiHai Plain during 1990–2019. The experimental treatments consisted of five fertilizer regimes: no fertilizer(control), chemical fertilizer only(NPK), chemical fertilizer with straw(NPKS), chemical fertilizer with manure(NPKM), and 1.5 times the rate of NPKM(1.5NPKM). The NPK, NPKS, and NPKM treatments had equal N inputs. The crop yields were measured over the whole experimental duration. Soil samples were collected from the topsoil(0–10 and 10–20 cm) and subsoil(20–40 cm) layers for assessing soil aggregates and taking SOC and TN measurements. Compared with the NPK treatment, the SOC and TN contents increased significantly in both the topsoil(24.1–44.4% for SOC and 22.8–47.7% for TN) and subsoil layers(22.0–47.9% for SOC and 19.8–41.8% for TN) for the organically amended treatments(NPKS, NPKM and 1.5NPKM) after 30 years, while no significant differences were found for the average annual crop yields over the 30 years of the experiment. The 0–10 cm layer of the NPKS treatment and the 20–40 cm layer of the NPKM treatment had significantly higher macroaggregate fraction mass proportions(19.8 and 27.0%) than the NPK treatment. However, the 0–10 and 20–40 cm layers of the 1.5NPKM treatment had significantly lower macroaggregate fraction mass proportions(–19.2 and –29.1%) than the control. The analysis showed that the higher SOC and TN in the soil of organically amended treatments compared to the NPK treatment were related to the increases in SOC and TN protected in the stable fractions(i.e., free microaggregates and microaggregates within macroaggregates), in which the contributions of the stable fractions were 81.1–91.7% of the increase in SOC and 83.3–94.0% of the increase in TN, respectively. Protective Effect of Irbesartan by Inhibiting ANGPTL2 Expression in Diabetic Kidney Disease

Responses of Antioxidant Enzymes to Chilling Stress in Tobacco Seedlings

Chilling is one of the major abiotic stresses limiting yield and quality of many important crops. For better understanding of chilling stress responses in tobacco （Nicotiana tabacum）, growth rate and antioxidant enzymes of seedlings in 2 tobacco cultivars, viz., MSk326 （chilling sensitive variety） and Honghuadajinyuan （HHDJY, chilling tolerant variety） at chilling temperature （5℃） were studied. The results showed that the relative growth rate in chilling period to that in recovery period was significantly higher in roots than that in shoots for both cultivars, suggesting that shoots growth was more easily affected by chilling stress. Chilling stress increased peroxidase （POD） activity and reduced superoxide dismutase （SOD） activity in shoots of HHDJY, and catalase （CAT） activity was little affected. In the roots of HHDJY, chilling stress increased SOD and CAT activities, and had little effect on POD activity. For MSk326, chilling treatment increased SOD activity in shoots and declined CAT activity in roots. MDA concentration in both varieties was increased under the chilling stress, while it was decreased after seedlings were recovered growth for 4 d at normal temperature （25℃）. It showed that tobacco seedlings might have the capacity of recovering from chilling injury for a short term, The relationship between the growth rate and antioxidant enzyme activity was analyzed by stepwise regression. It was found that there was a close relationship between relative growth rate of tobacco seedlings and CAT activity under chilling stress condition and regression equations containing CAT could be used in predicting seedling growth rate of tobacco under chilling stress condition.

Changes of Leaf Morphological, Anatomical Structure and Carbon Isotope Ratio with the height of the Wangtian Tree (Parashorea chinensis) in Xishuangbanna, China

Leaf morphological and anatomical structure and carbon isotope ratio （δ^13C） change with increasing tree height. To determine how tree height affects leaf characteristics, we measured the leaf area, specific leaf mass （ratio of leaf mass to leaf area [LMA]）, thickness of the total leaf, cuticle, epidermis, palisade and sponge mesophyll, stomata traits and δ^13C at different heights of Parashorea chinensis with methods of light and scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and isotope-ratio mass spectrometry. The correlation and stepwise regression between tree height and leaf structure traits were carried out with SPSS software. The results showed that leaf structures and δ^13C differed significantly along the tree height gradient. The leaf area, thickness of sponge mesophyll and size of stomata decreased with increasing height, whereas the thickness of lamina, palisade mesophyll, epidermis, and cuticle, ratios of palisade to spongy thickness, density of stomata and vascular bundles, LMA and δ^13C increased with tree height. Tree height showed a significant relationship with all leaf indices and the most significant relationship was with epidermis thickness, leaf area, cuticle thickness, δ^13C. The δ^13C value showed a significantly positive relationship with LMA （R = 0.934）. Our results supported the hypothesis that the leaf structures exhibited more xeromorphic characteristics with the increasing gradient of tree height.

The amalgamation of multi-subjects often elicits novel materials,new concepts and unexpected ***,Ge2 Sb2 Te5,as the most established phasechange material,has been found to exhibit decent thermoelectric performance in its stable,hexagonal *** challenge for higher figure of merit(zT) values lies in reducing the hole carrier concentration and enhancing the Seebeck coefficient,which,however,can be hardly realized by conventional *** in this work,we report that the electrical properties of Ge2 Sb2 Te5 can be readily optimized by anion-site ***,Se/S substitution for Te induces stronger and more ionic bonding,lowering the hole ***,an increase in electronic density of state is introduced by Se substitution,contributing to a large increase in Seebeck *** with the reduced thermal conductivity,maximum zT values above 0.7 at 800 K have been achieved in Se/S-alloyed materials,which is ~30% higher than that in the pristine Ge2Sb2 Te5.
