Intravascular ultrasound(IVUS)is a burgeoning imaging technology that provides vital information for the diagnosis of coronary arterial diseases.A significant constituent that enables the IVUS system to attain high-resolution images is the ultrasound transducer,which acts as both a transmitter that sends acoustic waves and a detector that receives the returning *** the most mature form of ultrasound transducer available in the market,piezoelectric transducers have dominated the field of biomedical ***,there are some drawbacks associated with using the traditional piezoelectric ultrasound transducers such as difficulties in the fabrication of high-density arrays,which would aid in the acceleration of the imaging speed and alleviate motion *** advent of microelectromechanical system(MEMS)technology has brought about the development of micromachined ultrasound transducers that would help to address this *** from the advantage of being able to be fabricated into arrays with lesser complications,the image quality of IVUS can be further enhanced with the easy integration of micromachined ultrasound transducers with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS).this would aid in the mitigation of parasitic capacitance,thereby improving the ***,there are two commonly investigated micromachined ultrasound transducers,piezoelectric micromachined ultrasound transducers(PMUts)and capacitive micromachined ultrasound transducers(CMUts).Currently,PMUts face a significant challenge where the fabricated PMUts do not function as per their ***,CMUts with different array configurations have been developed for *** this paper,the different ultrasound transducers,including conventional-piezoelectric transducers,PMUts and CMUts,are reviewed,and a summary of the recent progress of CMUts for IVUS is presented.

In Inderasabah(southeast Sabah),tri-spine horseshoe crab tachypleus tridentatus was observed for their locomotion activity using data loggers from September to November in 2015.A female with acceleration and depth-temperature loggers and five males with acceleration loggers were recaptured between 10 and 49 days after their *** the record of 194 activity days that involve all six ***,four horseshoe crabs,including the female,were active throughout the 24.0 h cycle,whereas the activity of the remaining two males was consistent with the 12.4 h *** the 40-day recording,three horseshoe crabs,including the female,were primarily active around the new moon and full moon,but they were dormant around the first and third quarter moon *** female spent much time in shallow shores(depththe new moon and full *** result indicated that the female attempted to spawn in a minimum of three spring tide periods while lingering in the ***,after spawning,the female spent time foraging in shallow water(depth 0.3–18 m).As for the two male individuals,their activity was consistent with semi-lunar ***,both of them were in *** addition,a solitary male individual was active only during the first and third quarter moon *** activity recording,all the *** in Inderasabah was active during daytime and *** result was contrary to *** activity cycles in western Japan,where the species was found to be primarily ***,the regional differences in activity cycles for *** were related to their population adaptation toward water temperature,depth,and prey-searching periods.

Charles taylor criticizes many liberal theories based on a kind of atomism that assumes the individual self-sufficiency outside the *** not only causes soft-relativism and political fragmentation but also undermines the solidarity of the community,that is,the very condition of the formation of autonomous *** thus argues for communitarian politics which protects certain cultural common goods for sustaining the solidarity of the ***,Brenda Lyshaug criticizes taylor’s communitarianism as suppressing plurality and enhancing hostility among cultural *** the face of such controversies,I argue for modern Confucian familism which emphasizes the family as a common good that provides a safe,stable,and nurturing environment for nurturing children and cultivating civility for future generations with a sense of community and autonomy.I also defend Confucian familism from four possible criticisms:insufficiency of familism,hierarchical relationship in the family,the danger of nepotism,and challenge from postmodern families.I argue that unlike traditional Confucianism,modern moderation of the Confucian family can greatly reduce the hierarchical problem;its emphasis on the family as one of the foundations of politics can avoid the danger of being atomistic liberalism and suppressive communitarianism.

throughout the SMILE mission the satellite will be bombarded by radiation which gradually damages the focal plane devices and degrades their *** order to understand the changes of the CCD370s within the soft X-ray Imager,an initial characterisation of the devices has been carried out to give a baseline performance *** CCDs have been characterised,the two flight devices and the flight spa *** has been carried out at the Open University in a bespo ke cleanroom measure ment *** results show that there is a cluster of bright pixels in the flight spa re which increases in size with tempe *** at the nominal ope rating tempe rature(-120℃) it is within the procure ment ***,the devices meet the specifications when ope rating at -120℃ in 6 × 6 binned frame transfer science *** se rial charge transfer inefficiency degrades with temperature in full frame *** any charge losses are recovered when binning/frame transfer is implemented.

In this work, characteristics of X/γ-ray radiations by intense laser interactions with high-Z solids are investigated by means of a newlydeveloped particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation code. the PIC code takes advantage of the recently developed ionization and collision dynamicsmodels, which make it possible to model different types of materials based on their intrinsic atomic properties. within the simulations, bothbremsstrahlung and nonlinear Compton scatterings have been included. Different target materials and laser intensities are considered forstudying the parameter-dependent features of X/γ-ray radiations. the relative strength and angular distributions of X/γ ray productions frombremsstrahlung and nonlinear Compton scatterings are compared to each other. the threshold under which the nonlinear Compton scatteringsbecome dominant over bremsstrahlung is also outlined.

A theoretical investigation on the fluid flow and heat transfer in a pipe with porous body of high porosity twisted by metal wire was carried out. A theoretical model of a circular pipe with porous matrix attached at the channel wall and extended inward the centerline was set up. through analyzing the flow in the porous matrix by the Brinkman-extended-Darcy equation and through including the effect of dispersion by adding the dispersion coefficient into the energy equation, the theoretical solutions of velocity distribution and temperature fields were obtained. Finally the effect of the properties of the porous matrix on the flow and heat transfer in the porous body was studied, which indicates that dispersion can really enhance the heat transfer in pipe.

Four ferrocenyl long -chain alkyl β-diketonato zinc(Ⅱ) complexes with a general formulaZnL2 (L = C5H5FeC5an COCH COCnH2n+1.n= 6 - 9) were synthesized. these complexes were characterizedby elementary analysis, IR 1HNMR MS. polarizing microscopy with a heating stage and DSC. It wasfound that the complexes have thermotropic liquid crystalline properties. the type of the heteronuclearliquid crystalline metal complexes have not been reported so far.
