this paper examines the transport analysis, including both heat transfer and mass transfer, in hybrid nanofluid flow containing gyrotactic microorganisms towards a curved oscillatory surface. the influence of magnetic fields is also inspected in terms of their physical characteristics. to depict the phenomena of transport, modified versions of both Fick's and Fourier's laws are used. Additionally, the characteristics of both heterogeneous and homogeneous chemical reactions are also incorporated. Utilizing a curvilinear coordinate system, the flow problem is formulated as partial differential equations(PDEs)for momentum, concentration, microorganism field, and energy. An analytical solution to the obtained flow equations is achieved utilizing the homotopy analysis method(HAM).the effects of significant flow parameters on the pressure and microorganism fields, velocity, oscillation velocity, concentration, and temperature distributions are shown via graphs. Furthermore, the variations in skin friction, mass transfer rate, heat transfer rate, and local motile number due to different involved parameters are presented in tables and are analyzed in detail. Graphical results indicate that the curves of velocity and temperature fields are enhanced as the values of the solid volume fraction variables *** is also verified that the concentration rate field decreases as the values of the homogeneous reaction strength parameter and the radius of curvature parameter increase, and it increases with the Schmidt number and the heterogeneous reaction strength *** outcomes show a favorable response of the motile number to advanced values of the Peclet number, the Schmidt number, the microorganism difference parameter, and the bio-convective Lewis number.

Dynamic experiment and numerical simulation of frozen soil under confining pressure

With the development of cold region engineering,it is crucial to study the mechanical properties of frozen *** practice,frozen soil is inevitably subject to impact loading,making the study of frozen soil under impact loading necessary for engineering in cold *** split–Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)is an important experimental means for obtaining the dynamic performance of *** this study,an SHPB experiment was conducted on frozen soil under confining *** frozen soil exhibited an evident strain rate effect and temperature effect under confining *** SHPB experiment on frozen soil under confining pressure was simulated numerically using LS-DYNA software and the Holmquist–Johnson–Cook(HJC)material model.A loading simulation with passive confining pressure and active confining pressure was completed by adding an aluminum sleeve and applying a constant *** simulation results obtained using the above methods were in good agreement with the experimental *** strength of the frozen soil under confining pressure was greater than that of the uniaxial impact,and there was an evident confining pressure ***,the confining pressure provided by passive confinement was larger than that provided by active *** passive confining pressure energy absorption efficiency was higher than for the active confining pressure due to the need to absorb more energy under the same damage *** frozen soil exhibited viscoplastic failure characteristics under confining pressure.

the genesis of the slab window-related Arzular low-sulfidation epithermal gold mineralization(eastern Pontides,NE turkey)

the Arzular mineralization is one of the best examples of epithermal gold deposits in the eastern Pontides orogenic belt. the mineralization is hosted by the subduction-related basaltic andesites and is mainly controlled by E W and NE SW trending fracture zones. the main ore minerals are galena. sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, tetrahedrite and gold. Homogenization temperatures of fluid inclu- sions are between 130 and 295 C for quartz and between 90 and 133 C for sphalerite. Sulphur isotope values obtained fiom pyrite, galena and sphalerite vary between 1.2‰ and 3‰ indicating that sulphur belongs to magmatic origin and was derived from the Lutetian non-adakitic granitic intrusions in the region. Oxygen isotope values are between 15.0‰, and 16.7‰ and hydrogen isotope values are between -87‰ and 91‰ the sulphur isotope thermometer yielded temperatures in the range of 244-291 C for the ore formation. Our results support the hypothesis that the Arzular mineralization is a low-sulfidation epithermal gold deposit associated with non-adakitic subduction- related granitic magmas that were generated by slab window-related processes in a south-dipping subduction zone during the Lutetian.

the effects of transformation of slag composition and additive agents on the morphology, the precipitation behavior, the crystal growth, and the volume fraction (VF) of perovskite (CaO·¤tiO_2) crystal in the ti-bearing blast furnace slags were investigated. As the morphology of perovskite is dispersed in molten slags, the crystal growth mechanism of the melting of fine dendrites and the coarsening of large grains exist throughout the solidification of molten slags. With the increase of CaO and Fe_2O_3 content, VF of perovskite obviously increases. However, high basicity leads to the viscosity of slag, which results in the reduction of the average equivalent diameter (AED). the experimental results showed that the presence of the additives CaF_2 and MnO efficiently decreased the viscosity of the slags, and obviously improved the morphology of perovskite and promoted its growth.

Structural modeling of sandwich structures with lightweight cellular cores

An effective single layered finite element （FE） computational model is proposed to predict the structural behavior of lightweight sandwich panels having two dimensional （2D） prismatic or three dimensional （3D） truss cores. three different types of cellular core topology are considered： pyramidal truss core （3D）, Kagome truss core （3D） and corrugated core （2D）, representing three kinds of material anisotropy： orthotropic, monoclinic and general anisotropic. A homogenization technique is developed to obtain the homogenized macroscopic stiffness properties of the cellular core. In comparison with the results obtained by using detailed FE model, the single layered computational model can give acceptable predictions for both the static and dynamic behaviors of orthotropic truss core sandwich panels. However, for non-orthotropic 3D truss cores, the predictions are not so well. For both static and dynamic behaviors of a 2D corrugated core sandwich panel, the predictions derived by the single layered computational model is generally acceptable when the size of the unit cell varies within a certain range, with the predictions for moderately strong or strong corrugated cores more accurate than those for weak cores.

Bake-Hardening Response of High Martensite Dual-Phase Steel with Different Morphologies and Volume Fractions

Bake-hardening behaviour of carbon steel with different martensite morphologies and volume fraction was investigated. the specimens with fibrous and bulky martensite were prestrained in tension by 4%. After this, they were unloaded and bake hardened at 180 ℃ for 10-160 min. It was found that dual-phase steel samples which were bake hardened at 180 ℃ for 20 rain showed an increase in the yield stress （YS） and ultimate tensile stress （UtS） but a decrease in ductility. Further increase in the bake-hardening time of 80 or 160 min has reduced the YS and UtS, but increased the ductility. △σ （increase in stress due to bake hardening）, YS and UtS values are higher for the microstructure containing fibrous martensite compared to the microstructure-containing bulky martensite. It was also observed that at a given baking temperature Aa, YS and UtS increased by volume of martensite.

Under certain conditions, nonmetallic inclusions such as oxides, sulfides, nitrides and carbides are no longer harmful to steel service properties. With the new concept of oxide metallurgy, these properties can be improved by generating fine oxide inclusions which serve as heterogeneous nuclei for sulfide and fine ferrite. A novel continuous casting (CC) process is expected to be created with the utilization of oxide metallurgy. this is also useful for the forthcoming technologies of direct rolling and near-net-shape casting. the main idea of oxide metallurgy consists of an alternative oxidation technology. It is based on steels treated by complex metals such as ti, zr, ti-zr alloys and rare earth metals. the selected deoxidants should follow the required conditions which are concluded in this paper. Emergent phenomena in manganites under spatial confinement

It is becoming increasingly clear that the exotic properties displayed by correlated electronic materials such as high- tc superconductivity in cuprates, colossal magnetoresistance （CMR） in manganites, and heavy-fermion compounds are intimately related to the coexistence of competing nearly degenerate states which couple simultaneously active degrees of freedom---charge, lattice, orbital, and spin states. the striking phenomena associated with these materials are due in a large part to spatial electronic inhomogeneities, or electronic phase separation （EPS）. In many of these hard materials, the functionality is a result of the soft electronic component that leads to self-organization. In this paper, we review our recent work on a novel spatial confinement technique that has led to some fascinating new discoveries about the role of EPS in manganites. Using lithographic techniques to confine manganite thin films to length scales of the EPS domains that reside within them, it is possible to simultaneously probe EPS domains with different electronic states. this method allows for a much more complete view of the phases residing in a material and gives vital information on phase formation, movement, and fluctuation. Pushing this trend to its limit, we propose to control the formation process of the EPS using external local fields, which include magnetic exchange field, strain field, and electric field. We term the ability to pattern EPS ＂electronic nanofabrication.＂ this method allows us to control the global physical properties of the system at a very fundamental level, and greatly enhances the potential for realizing true oxide electronics.
