Row Spacing Affects Biomass Yield and Composition of Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinusL.) as a Lignocellulosic Feedstock for Bioenergy

Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) is a warm-season annual. Kenaf fibers are commonly used for paper pulp and cordage, but it is also a promising lignocellulosic feedstock for bioenergy production, although optimum plant density for biomass production has not been determined for the northern region of the USA. the objective of this study was to determine the best plant density and row spacing of kenaf to maximize biomass yield and chemical composition for biofuel conversion. the experiments were conducted at Fargo and Prosper, ND, in 2010 and 2011. the experiment was a randomized complete block design with a split-plot arrangement where the main plot was tworowspacings (30 and60 cm) and the sub-plot fourplant densities (32, 16, 8, and 4 plants·m-2). Row spacing had a significant effect on both biomass and biofuel yield. Narrower rows had higher biomass and biofuel yield. Maximum biomass and estimated biofuel yield was obtained with the two highest plant densities of 16 and 32 plants·m-2 and fluctuated between 9.45 and 10.22 Mg·ha-1 and 1354 and1464 L·ha-1, respectively. Stem diameter increased with a decrease in plant density. Chemical composition varied with plant density;glucan (27%) and xylan (9.8%) content were lower at the lowest plant density. Ash content was not different among plant densities but it is interesting to mention the very low ash content of kenaf (0.15%). According to the results of this study, it is recommended to plant kenaf at 30-cm rows with a plant density of 16 to 32 plants·m-2 to maximize biomass yield. Kenaf has a tremendous potential as a cellulosic feedstock for biofuel and green chemicals in the Northern Great Plains because of high biomass yield and low ash content.

Influence of Machining Parameter on Surface Roughness and tool Life While Machining EN24 Grade Alloy Steel

the requirements of high quality machined surface as well as demand of enhanced contact time of cutting tools drive towards adopting multilayer coated carbide inserts. the industry requires higher productivity, hence higher machining parameters need to be used in order to meet the industry requirements. the alloy steel material used to fabricate machine parts consists of alloying elements like nickel, chromium and molybdenum difficult to machine, since the cutting tool fails by high tool wear, if we use uncoated carbide inserts to machine alloy steels. Hence in the present research work it is intended to use tungsten carbide inserts coated with different coatings for the experiments. the turning experiments were carried out using different grades of uncoated and coated carbide inserts of identical tool signature. the cutting speed selected for the experiments was 100 to 500 m/min in steps of 100 m/min, and the feed per revolution was 0.1 mm to 0.4 mm in step of 0.1 mm. the experimentation was carried out following ISO3685 standards. the results of the experiments revealed that the surface roughness measured was the least at cutting speed 500 m/min and feed per revolution of 0.1 mm, however the chip breaking found better when the feed used was greater than 0.2 mm/revolution.

为优化单层声表面波换能器的驱动性能,改善现有δ函数分析方法在计算过程中的不足之处,采用有限元仿真优化方法对叉指式换能器的静力学性能进行了分析,研究了支路电极宽度w、电极间距s和基片厚度t对驱动性能的影响。仿真结果表明,当w/t=0.7时,可以得到最佳应变响应;当s/t>3.2时,可以得到最大应变。同时还得出了电极间距越小,驱动电压越低的结论。根据仿真优化结果制备了声表面波叉指换能器(SAW-IDt),并进行了频率响应测试。研究结果为声表面波叉指换能器的制备、性能测试和应用提供了指导。

Due to the characteristic emission of phosphors,phosphor-converted LEDs have been employed to provide the requisite light sources for indoor plant growth in the optical agricultural ***,we prepared a series of Mn^(2+)co-doped NaSrB5 O9:Dy^(3+)phosphors via a solid-state reaction *** phosphors have significant three-band emissions at 467 nm(blue region),606 nm(orange region),and765 nm(far-red region),ascribed to the^(4)F_(9/2)-^(6)H_(15/2)and 4 F9/2-6 H13/2 transitions of the Dy^(3+)ions and the^(4)t_(1g)(G)-^(6)A_(1g)(S)spin-forbidden transition of the Mn^(2+)ions,respectively,when excited by light of 376 nm(near-UV region).the co-dopant in the host material facilitates tunable photoluminescence(PL)due to energy transfer from the Dy^(3+)ions to the Mn^(2+)*** three emission peaks from the prepared phosphors well match with the absorption spectra of the photosynthesis pigments of plants,chlorophyll and phytochrome,which can absorb blue(400-500 nm),orange-red(550-700 nm),and infrared(IR)radiation,indicating that these phosphors have potential applications in the fabrication of plant-growth *** to the PL studies,the structure of the phosphors was determined by X-ray diffraction,refined by Rietveld method and chemically quantified by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

Primary hepatic peripheral t-cell lymphoma associated with Epstein-Barr viral infection

Primary hepatic peripheral t-cell lymphoma(H-PtCL) is one of the rarest forms of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. We report a patient who presented with worsening jaundice, abdominal pain, and vomiting. Laboratory values were significant for elevated total bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, and liver aminotransferases. Following a liver biopsy, histopathology revealed several large dense clusters of atypical t-lymphocytes which were CD2+, CD3+, CD5+, CD7-, CD4+, CD8-, CD56-, CD57-, CD30+ by immunohistochemistry. the proliferation index was approximately 70% by labeling for ki67/mib1. the above histological profile was consistent with peripheral t-cell lymphoma of the liver. Epstein-Barr viral serology indicated a remote infection, a likely risk factor for PtCL. Bone marrow biopsy was negative for malignancy, further supporting hepatic origin.

Magnetic and Electrical Properties of Gd Doped Ni-Cu-Zn-Fe2O4

Ni0.5Cu0.25Zn0.25GdxFe2-xO4 (x = 0.0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1) ferrites were synthesized using an oxalic-based precursor method. the tC for all the Ni0.5Cu0.25Zn0.25GdxFe2-xO4 (x = 0.0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1) samples was measured by using one of the double coil susceptibility setup. In all the samples it is observed that, at a certain temperature, susceptibility falls to zero indicating the Curie temperature (tC) and ferrimagnetic samples are converted into paramagnetic sample at that temperature. the electrical properties were investigated for these samples. Dielectric properties and ρdc properties were observed to decrease with the increase in the frequency for all the Gd doped ferrite samples.

Enhanced Energy Efficient with a trust Aware in MANEt for Real-time Applications

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANEts) are subjected to attack detectionfor transmitting and creating new messages or existing message *** attacker on another node evaluates the forging activity in themessage directly or indirectly. Every node sends short packets in a MANEtenvironment with its identifier, location on the map, and time through *** attackers on the network broadcast the warning message usingfaked coordinates, providing the appearance of a network collision. Similarly,MANEt degrades the channel utilization performance. Performancehighly affects network performance through security algorithms. this paperdeveloped a trust management technique called Enhanced Beacon trustManagement with Hybrid Optimization (EBtM-Hyopt) for efficient clusterhead selection and malicious node detection. It tries to build trust amongconnected nodes and may improve security by requiring every participatingnode to develop and distribute genuine, accurate, and trustworthy materialacross the network. Specifically, optimized cluster head election is done periodicallyto reduce and balance the energy consumption to improve the lifetimenetwork. the cluster head election optimization is based on hybridizingParticle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Gravitational Search OptimizationAlgorithm (GSOA) concepts to enable and ensure reliable routing. Simulationresults show that the proposed EBtM-HYOPt outperforms the state-of-thearttrust model in terms of 297.99 kbps of throughput, 46.34% of PDR, 13%of energy consumption, 165.6 kbps of packet loss, 67.49% of end-to-end delay,and 16.34% of packet length.
