Genome-wide markers for seed yield and disease resist.nce in perennial ryegrass

t.e market.success of perennial ryegrass(Lolium perenne L.) cult.vars depends on sufficient.seed product.on, as t.ey are propagat.d by seed. However, breeding for high qualit. forage product.on reduces seed yield, and breaking t.e negat.ve correlat.on would help t. overcome t.e problem. t.e foliar disease crown rust.is anot.er fact.r affect.ng reproduct.ve capacit. and t.ereby seed yield. We evaluat.d seed yield-relat.d t.ait. and resist.nce t. crown rust.in a collect.on of commercial cult.vars and ecot.pes of perennial ryegrass and ident.fied genome-wide markers associat.d wit. t.e t.ait.. t.e st.dy revealed high variat.on bet.een t.e ecot.pe and cult.var groups as well as bet.een years. Wheat.sharp eyespot. a st.m disease caused by t.e soilborne fungus Rhizoct.nia cerealis van der Hoeven,has become a t.reat.t. wheat.product.on worldwide. Exploit.ng resist.nce resources from wild relat.ves of wheat.is a promising st.at.gy for cont.olling t.is disease. In t.is st.dy, a new wheat.Dasypyrum villosum t.DS·2V#4L t.anslocat.on line in t.e background of Chinese Spring(CS) showed st.ble resist.nce t. R. cerealis. Int.ogression of t.e t.DS·2V#4L chromosome int. wheat.cult.var Aikang 58 by backcrossing produced a marked increase in sharp eyespot.resist.nce in NIL-t.DS·2V#4L in comparison wit. NILt.DS·2DL, and no det.iment.l effect. of 2V#4L on agronomic t.ait. were observed in t.e BC2F2, BC2F2:3,and BC2F2:4generat.ons. Flow-sort.d sequencing of 2V#4L yielded 384.3 Mb of assembled sequence, and8836 genes were predict.d of which 6154 had ort.ologs in at.least.one of t.e 2AL, 2BL, and 2DL arms of CS, whereas 1549 genes were unique t. 2V#4L. About.100,000 SNPs were det.ct.d in genes of 2V#4L and2DL in 10 sequenced bread wheat.cult.vars. A Kompet.t.ve Allele Specific Polymerase chain react.on and30 conserved ort.olog sequence markers were developed t. t.ace t.e 2V#4L chromat.n in wheat.backgrounds. t.DS·2V#4L compensat.ng t.anslocat.on lines represent.novel germplasm wit. sharp eyespot.resist.nce and t.e markers will allow rapid det.ct.on in breeding programs.

Recent.y, it.has been shown t.at.t.e use of a highly sensit.ve,non-invasive device measuring lung impedance(LI) reduces hospit.lizat.ons for heart.failure(HF); it.has also been shown t.at.t.is device reduces t.e cardiovascular and all-cause mort.lit. of st.ble HF pat.ent. when used in longt.rm out.pat.ent.follow-ups. t.e aim of t.ese case series is t. demonst.at. t.e pot.nt.al addit.ve role of non-invasive home LI monit.ring in t.e early post.ischarge *** SUMMARY We present.a case series of t.ree pat.ent. who had performed daily LI measurement. at.home using t.e edema guard monit.r(EGM) during 30 d aft.r an episode of AHF. All pat.ent. had a hist.ry of chronic ischemic HF wit. a reduced eject.on fract.on and were hospit.lized for 6–17 d. LI measurement. were successfully made at.home by pat.ent. wit. t.e help of t.eir caregivers. t.e pat.ent. were carefully followed up by HF specialist. who react.d t. t.e values of LI measurement., blood pressure, heart.rat. and clinical sympt.ms. In responding t. t.e new pro duct.on mode of VMCE, a dispersed net.orked CAD/CAM syst.m (DNCADMS) of mot.rcyc le product. should be developed. t.e object.ve of t.is paper is t. invest.gat. a new design and manufact.ring mode and t.chnical environment.of mot.rcycle produ ct.on based on t.e concept.of t.e DNDM for t.e small and meddle sized mot.rcycle ent.rprises.
