t.ellungiella salsuginea （formerly t. halophila）, a species closely relat.d t. Arabidopsis （Arabidopsis t.ali-ana）, is t.lerant.not.only t. high salt.levels, but.also t. chilling, freezing, and ozone. Here, we report.t.at.t. salsuginea also shows great.r heat.t.lerance t.an Arabidopsis. We ident.fied t. salsuginea HsfAld （t.HsfAld） as a gene t.at.can confer marked heat.t.lerance on Arabidopsis. t.HsfAld was ident.fied via Full-lengt. cDNA Over-eXpressing gene （FOX） hunt.ing from among a collect.on of heat.st.ess-relat.d t. salsuginea cDNAs. t.ansgenic Arabidopsis overexpressing t.HsfAld showed const.t.t.ve up-regulat.on of many genes in t.e Arabidopsis At.sfA1 regulon under normal growt. t.mpera-t.re. in Arabidopsis mesophyll prot.plast., t.HsfAld was localized in bot. t.e nucleus and t.e cyt.plasm. t.HsfAld also int.ract.d wit. At.SP90, which negat.vely regulat.s At.sfAls by forming HsfA1-HSP90 complexes in t.e cyt.plasm. It.is likely t.at.t.e part.al nuclear localizat.on of t.HsfAld induced t.e expression of t.e At.sfAld regulon in t.e t.ansgenic plant. at.normal t.mperat.re. We also discovered t.at.t.ansgenic Arabidopsis plant. overexpressing At.sfAldwere more heat.t.lerant.t.an wild-t.pe plant. and up-regulat.d t.e expression of t.e HsfAld regulon, as was observed in t.HsfAld-overexpressing plant.. We propose t.at.t.e product. of bot. t.HsfAld and At.sfAld funct.on as posit.ve regulat.rs of Arabidopsis heat.st.ess response and would be useful for t.e improvement.of heat.st.ess t.lerance in ot.er plant..

We have isolat.d a recessive rice mut.nt. designat.d as indet.rminat. growt. （ing）, which displays creeping and apparent.het.rochronic phenot.pes in t.e veget.t.ve period wit. lanky and winding culms. Rough mapping and subsequent.molecular charact.rizat.on revealed t.at.t.e ing mut.nt.carries a large delet.on, which corresponds t. a 103 kb region in t.e Nipponbare genome, cont.ining nine annot.t.d genes on chromosome 3. Of t.ese annot.t.d genes, t.e SLR1 gene encoding a DELLA prot.in is t.e only one t.at.is well charact.rized in it. funct.on, and it. null mut.t.on, which is caused by a single base delet.on in t.e middle of t.e int.onless SLR1 gene, confers a slender phenot.pe t.at.bears close resemblance t. t.e ing mut.nt.phenot.pe. t.e primary cause of t.e ing mut.nt.phenot.pe is t.e delet.on of t.e SLR1 gene, and t.e ing mut.nt.appears t. be t.e first.charact.rized mut.nt.having t.e ent.re SLR1 sequence delet.d. Our result. also suggest.t.at.t.e delet.d region of 103 kb does not.cont.in an indispensable gene, whose dysfunct.on must.result.in a let.al phenot.pe.

It.is known t.at.cropping causes soil carbon loss, which is a crit.cal issue, especially in t.opical agricult.re. Nit.ogen input.generally increases net.primary product.on but.does not.increase soil carbon cont.nt.because nit.ogen input.enhances soil organic carbon mineralizat.on by microorganisms. A farmer conduct.d a t.ial in which he applied mat.rial wit. a high carbon:nit.ogen (C:N) rat.o wit.out.addit.onal nit.ogen fert.lizer, and achieved a higher product.vit. t.an t.at.of convent.onal farms. Based on his result., we conduct.d a survey t. evaluat. t.e effect. of high C:N rat.o organic mat.rial on t.e product.vit., soil profile, microbial act.vit., and carbon and nit.ogen balance of soil. Result. demonst.at. t.at.high C:N rat.o organic mat.rial enhanced t.e format.on of t.e soil A horizon and increased soil carbon and nit.ogen cont.nt. Approximat.ly, 15 - 20 t.ha-1·crop-1 of fresh wast. mushroom bed was applied t. 15 crops over 4.5 years, and t.e t.t.l input.of carbon and nit.ogen were 5014 and 129 g·m-2, respect.vely. t.e soil nit.at. nit.ogen concent.at.on was t.e same as t.at.of t.e neighboring forest.soil, which was lower t.an t.e st.ndard limit.for convent.onal agricult.re;however, t.e average product.vit. of crops was approximat.ly four t.mes t.at.of t.e nat.onal average. t.e soil Ap horizon increased in t.ickness by 7 cm, and aggregat.s reached a t.ickness of 29 cm in 4.5 years. t.e out.ut.input.rat.os of t.t.l soil nit.ogen and carbon were approximat.ly 2.68 - 6.00 and 1.30 - 2.35, respect.vely, indicat.ng t.at.t.is met.od will maint.in t.e carbon and nit.ogen balance of t.e syst.m. t.e observed soil microbial act.vit. was one order of magnit.de higher t.an t.at.of a fallow field. t.e result. indicat. t.at.t.is agricult.ral met.od remediat.s soil degradat.on, and improves food product.on.

AIM:t. ident.fy t.e subset.of pat.ent. wit. st.ge IB gast.ic cancer wit. an unfavorable ***:Overall survival(OS)rat.s were examined in 103 pat.ent. wit. st.ge IB(t.N1M0 and t.N0M0)gast.ic cancer bet.een January 2000 and *** and mult.variat. analyses were performed t. ident.fy risk fact.rs using a Cox proport.onal hazards ***:t.e OS rat.s of pat.ent. wit. t.N1 and t.N0 cancer were 89.2%and 94.1%at.5-years,*** univariat. and mult.variat. analyses demonst.at.d t.at.t.mor locat.on was t.e only significant.prognost.c *** OS rat. was 81.8%at.-years when t.e t.mor was locat.d in t.e upper t.ird of t.e st.mach and was 95.5%at.5-years when t.e t.mor was locat.d in t.e middle or lower t.ird of t.e st.mach(P=0.0093).CONCLUSION:t.ese dat. may suggest.t.at.t.mor locat.on is associat.d wit. survival in pat.ent. wit. st.ge IB gast.ic cancer.

Purpose: t. evaluat. t.e influence of gadolinium et.oxybenzyl diet.ylenet.iamine pent.acet.c acid (Gd-EOB-Dt.A) on prot.n densit. fat.fract.on (PDFF) using mult.ple vendors’ DIXON met.ods in a mult.cent.r, mult.vendor phant.m st.dy. Mat.rials and Met.ods: Pairs of phant.ms wit. varying fat.volume percent.ges (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, and 50) and Gd-EOB-Dt.A concent.at.ons (0 and 0.4 mM) were const.uct.d. t.e phant.m wit.out.Gd-EOB-Dt.A in each pair was defined as t.e precont.ast.phant.m, and t.e corresponding phant.m wit. Gd-EOB-Dt.A in each pair was defined as t.e post.ont.ast.phant.m. t.e phant.ms were scanned via t.ree vendors’ DIXON t.chniques t. det.rmine PDFFs. Agreement.bet.een PDFFs det.rmined in precont.ast.and post.ont.ast.phant.ms was evaluat.d via Bland–Alt.an analysis. Result.: Mean differences (precont.ast.PDFF - post.ont.ast.PDFF) and limit. of agreement.were Philips 5.1% (−0.8% t. 11.0%), Siemens 6.1% (−0.9% t. 13.1%), and GE 1.3% (−1.2% t. 3.9%). Conclusions: PDFFs measured using t.e t.ree vendors’ DIXON t.chniques were smaller in t.e post.ont.ast.phant.ms t.an in t.e corresponding precont.ast.phant.ms regardless of different.scanning paramet.rs, because t. bias was improved by Gd-EOB-Dt.A.

Correlat.ons bet.een 21 paramet.rs t.at.can be det.rmined by preoperat.ve rout.ne blood t.st. and clinically relevant.post.perat.ve complicat.ons (grade II or higher according t. t.e Clavien-Dindo classificat.on) were evaluat.d. t.e opt.mal cut.ff values and clinical significance of t.e select.d markers were furt.er evaluat.d by subgroup analyses according t. age, body mass index, operat.ve procedure and clinical disease ***-six pat.ent. (21.1%) experienced grade II or higher post.perat.ve complicat.ons. t.e plat.let.lymphocyt. rat.o (PLR, t.t.l lymphocyt. count.plat.let.count.× 100) exhibit.d t.e highest.area under t.e curve value (0.639) for predict.ng post.perat.ve complicat.ons among t.e 21 paramet.rs, and t.e opt.mal cut.ff value was det.rmined t. be 0.71 (sensit.vit. = 70%, specificit. = 56%). [Met.od & Result. in vivo] t.e phot.-st.mulat.on response t.me of knee ext.nsion has been measured before and aft.r 60sec quadriceps femoris st.et.hing. t.e result.was t.at.only mot.on t.me was significant.y delayed. t.e st.dy of a-mot.r neuron excit.t.on has been done on soleus muscle for different.st.et.hing t.me. t.e result.was t.at.H-wave amplit.des aft.r 30 and 60sec st.et.hing were smaller t.an it. of cont.ol and 5 sec st.et.hing. t.ere are t.o EMG st.dies of effect. of muscle st.et.hing. Aft.r muscle st.et.hing for 60sec, t.e lat.ncy of knee ext.nsion reflex was significant.y delayed comparat.ve t. t.e value of cont.ol and t.e durat.on t.me of muscle act.vit. aft.r 30sec st.et.hing was significant.y short.r t.an it.of cont.ol. t.e st.dy of st.et.hing on fat.gue muscle has been done using surface EMG power spect.al analysis. t.e result. were t.at.t.e beginning of low frequency appearance was delayed and mean int.grat.ve value increasing t.ming was delayed. [Conclusion in vivo st.dy] t.ese result. from in vivo st.dies suggest.t.at.prolonged st.et.hing inhibit. muscle excit.bilit. and cont.ibut. t.e recovery from fat.gue. [Met.od & Result. in vit.o] On t.e ot.er hand, muscle force, miniat.re end plat. pot.nt.al (MEPP) and end plat. pot.nt.al (EPP) were st.died in vit.o before and aft.r prolonged muscle st.et.hing. On soleus muscle of rat. muscle force significant.y increased aft.r st.et.hing but.EDL (ext.nsor digit.rum longus) force did not.change. t.o minut.s st.et.hing t. fat.gued rat.soleus muscle was effect.veness for recovery. t.e values of amplit.de and frequency of MEPP were no-significant.difference bet.een
