BACKGROUND Anorectal melanoma(ARM)is a rare disease with a poor *** on optimal treatment is limited and surgical management varies *** hypothesized that the frequency of abdominoperineal resection used as primary treatment of ARM has decreased over the past several *** to update our understanding of outcomes for patients with ARM and analyze management trends around the *** this is a multi-institutional,retrospective study of patients treated for ARM at 7 *** included both large,academic,tertiary care centers and smaller,general community *** prospectively maintained institutional tumor registries,we identified 24 patients diagnosed with ARM between January 2000 and May *** analyzed factors prognostic for recurrence and *** then used Cox regression to measure overall survival(OS)and melanoma-specific *** also performed a literature review to assess trends in surgical management and *** Of the 24 patients diagnosed with ARM,12(50.0%)had local,8(33.3%)regional,and 4(16.7%)distant disease at *** time to recurrence was 10.4 mo[interquartile range(IQR)7.5-17.2]with only 2 patients(9.3%)not developing recurrence following surgical *** OS was 18.8 mo(IQR 13.5-33.9).One patient is still alive without recurrence at 21.4 mo from diagnosis;no other patient survived 5 *** surgical management with abdominoperineal resection(APR)vs wide excision(WE)did not lead to differences in OS[hazard ratio=1.4(95%CI:0.3-6.8)].Review of the literature revealed geographic differences in surgical management of ARM,with increased use of WE in the United States and Europe over time and more frequent use of APR in Asia and *** was no significant improvement in survival over *** there is wide variation in the management of ARM and survival outcomes remain poor regardless of *** management should aim to minimize morbidity.

Assessing gully erosion and rehabilitation using multi temporal LiDAR DEMs:Case study from the Great Barrier Reef catchments,Australia

Millions of dollars are being spent on gully rehabilitation to help reduce excess fine sediment delivery to the Great Barrier Reef(GBR).there is an urgent need for(i)prioritisation of active gullies for rehabilitation and(ii)the development of methodologies to inform the effectiveness of *** this study we analyse DEMs of Difference derived from 0.5 m resolution 2-3 year interval multi-temporal LiDAR data collected pre and post rehabilitation at three variable gully morphologies in the Burdekin *** analysis indicates that the highest annual average fine sediment erosion rates for the untreated control gullies occur at the linear gully(53.38 t ha^(-1)y^(-1))followed by linear-alluvial gully(34.24 t ha^(-1)y^(-1))and least at the alluvial gully(14.41 t ha^(-1)y^(-1)).the proportional loss or export of fine sediment from the gullies in their un-treated condition ranges from∼68 to 90%of what is eroded,and when the gullies are treated the proportion of fine sediment that is retained in the gully proportional to what is eroded increases to∼60%at all *** pre-treatment baseline erosion rates,and additional post treatment LiDAR captures,it is difficult to quantify the treatment *** results offer insights in the erosion mechanisms within different geomorphic gully morphologies and rehabilitation effects in these erosional *** study provides crucial knowledge of gully dynamics that can be coupled with other lines of evidence for better prioritisation of rehabilitation in the GBR catchments.

Dear Editor, Xylan polysaccharides constitute the major non-cellulosic components in secondary cell walls of dicots and in both primary and secondary cell walls of grasses （Scheller and Ulvskov, 2010）. Xylan is composed of a linear backbone of 13（1-4）-linked xylose （Xyl）. In grasses, the xylan backbone is substituted with 03-1inked and 02-1inked arabinose residues and, to a lesser extent, a（1-3）-Iinked glucuronic acid residues.

Hospital ethical climate associated with the professional quality of life among nurses during the early stage of COVID-19 pandemic inWuhan,China:A cross-sectional study

Objectives:to describe the professional quality of life and explore its associated factors among nurses coming from other areas of China to assist with the anti-epidemic fight inWuhan and especially examine whether the hospital ethical climate was independently associated with nurses’professional quality of ***:A cross-sectional online survey was conducted from March 2020 to April *** nurses working in Wuhan from the other parts of China were the target *** Professional Quality of Life Scale version 5,the Hospital Ethical Climate Survey,and a basic information sheet were used to collect *** statistics,t-test,ANOVA,Pearson correlation,and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze the ***:In total,236 nurses participated in this study,and 219 valid questionnaires were *** average age of the participants was 31.2±5.0 *** nurses were female(176/219;80.4%)and married(145/219;66.2%).In term of professional quality of life,nurses reported moderate(129/219;58.9%)to high(90/219;41.1%)levels of compassion satisfaction,low(119/219;54.3%)to moderate(100/219;45.7%)levels of burnout,and low(67/219;36.0%)to high(10/219;4.6%)levels of secondary traumatic *** hospital ethical climate,nurses reported moderately high hospital ethical climates with an average score of *** controlling for socio-demographic characteristics,the multiple linear regression models showed that the hospital ethical climate subscale of“relationship with physicians”was independently associated with the compassion satisfaction(b=0.533,Pt(b=0.237,Pthe hospital ethical climate subscale of“relationship with peers”(b=0.191,Ptly associated with the secondary traumatic ***:During the early stage of the pandemic,nurses demonstrated moderate to high level of compassion satisfaction,low to moderate level of burnout,and all nurses experienced secondary traumatic stress.
