La,Ce co-doped ZnO nanorods(ZnLC)were synthesized through a one-step solvothermal *** photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction,Raman spectroscopy,field-emission scanning electron microscopy.energy dispersive X-ray,transmission electron microscopy,UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and photo luminescence *** La and Ce doping enhanced the visible light absorption ability of ZnLC and a red shift was detected for *** simulated solar light irradiation,the ZnO doped with 3 at%La and 1 at%Ce(ZnLC1)degrades methy.ene blue(MB)more effectively than those of pure ZnO,La-doped ZnO(ZnL)and commercially available *** improved photocatalytic performance of ZnLC1 can be attributed to the high charge separation efficiency as demonstrated by the photoluminescence ***,the photocatalytic experiments reveal that several parameters have their own impact on the MB *** a variety of radical scavengers,it is discovered that superoxide anion radical plays a crucial role in the degradation of *** ZnLC1 is also reused several times without noticeable decrease of photoactivity,indicating that it has a substantial potential for environmental remediation applications.

Synchronous colorectal cancer: Clinical, pathological and molecular implications

Synchronous colorectal carcinoma refers to more than one primary colorectal carcinoma detected in a single patient at initial presentation. A literature review has shown that the prevalence of the disease is approximately 3.5% of all colorectal carcinomas. This disease has a male to female ratio of 1.8:1. The mean age at presentation of patients with synchronous colorectal cancer is in the early half of the seventh decade. Patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer, familial adenomatous polyposis and serrated polyps/hy.erplastic polyposis are known to have a higher risk of synchronous colorectal carcinoma. These predisposing factors account for slightly more than 10% of synchronous colorectal carcinomas. Synchronous colorectal carcinoma is more common in the right colon when compared to solitary colorectal cancer. On pathological examination, some synchronous colorectal carcinomas are mucinous adenocarcinomas. They are usually associated with adenomas and metachronous colorectal carcinomas. Most of the patients with synchronous colorectal cancer have two carcinomas but up to six have been reported in one patient. Patients with synchronous colorectal carcinoma have a higher proportion of microsatellite instability cancer than patients with a solitary colorectal carcinoma. Also, limited data have revealed that in many synchronous colorectal carcinomas, carcinomas in the same patient have different patterns of microsatellite instability status, p53 mutation and K-ras mutation. Overall, the prognosis of patients with synchronous colorectal carcinoma is not significantly different from that in patients with solitary colorectal carcinoma, although a marginally better prognosis has been reported in patients with synchronous colorectal carcinoma in some series. Prevacuolar compartments （PVCs） and endosomal compartments are membrane-bound organelles mediating protein traffic to vacuoles in the secretory and endocytic pathways of plant cells. Over the years, great progress has been made towards our understanding in these two compartments in plant cells. In this review, we will summarize our contributions toward the identification and characterization of plant prevacuolar and endosomal compartments. Our studies will serve as important steps in future molecular characterization of PVC biogenesis and PVC-mediated protein traffickinq in plant cells.

House price prediction is of utmost importance in forecasting residential property prices,particularly as the demand for high-quality housing continues to *** predictions have implications for real estate investors,financial institutions,urban planners,and ***,accurately predicting house prices is challenging due to the complex interplay of various influencing *** studies have primarily focused on basic property information,leaving room for further exploration of more intricate features,such as amenities,traffic,and social sentiments in the surrounding *** this paper,we propose a novel approach to house price prediction from a multi-source data fusion *** methodology involves analyzing house characteristics and incorporating factors from diverse aspects,including amenities,traffic,and *** validate our approach using a dataset of 28550 real-world transactions in Beijing,China,providing a comprehensive analysis of the drivers influencing house *** adopting a multi-source data fusion perspective and considering a wide range of influential factors,our approach offers valuable insights into house price *** findings from this study possess the capability to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of house price prediction models,benefiting stakeholders in the real estate market.

Perception of Potential Health Risk of Climate Change and Utilization of Fans and Air Conditioners in a Representative Population of Hong Kong

Climate change, especially as reflected in heat waves, is a rising threat worldwide. Appropriate use of cooling devices can protect people from health impacts during a heat wave. A population-based telephone survey was conducted in a representative sample of residents in Hong Kong to investigate ownership and use of domestic cooling devices, identify correlates, and examine their associations with risk perception of potential health impact of climate change. More than 90% of the 1002 respondents owned and used cooling devices at home. The majority(57.7%) perceived the potential health risk of climate change at a high level. However, risk perception had no relationship with ownership and utilization of cooling devices. Old people(≥ 65 years), the low-educated, those with low income, and those with chronic diseases were more likely not to use air conditioners when feeling *** findings suggest that there are no signs showing people have taken more protective actions although half of respondents recognized climate change as a threat. Familial economic condition may be a major determinant in ownership and use of air conditioners at home. Old people and those with chronic diseases are at high risk of adverse exposure to climate change and therefore should be equipped with appropriate measures to use cooling devices.

The demand for highly.efficient solid-state luminophores is continuously growing due to their potential applications in optoelectrical devices, chemosensors, and biological applications. The discovery of luminogens with aggregation-induced emission(AIe)by Tang et al. in 2001 provides a good reponse to this demand. Among the exploited AIe luminogens, AIe-active poly.ers possess many advantages such as simple synthesis, convenient structrue modifications, and good processability, which offer an extensive platform for scientists and engineers. Herein, the design principles and latest synthetic advancement of AIe-active poly.ers are summarized, including click poly.erization and multicomponent poly.erization. Non-conjugated heteroatom-rich poly.ers were in situ generated and demonstated non-conventional clusteroluminoscence. Advanced applications including fluorescent sensors, stimuli-responsive materials,biological applications, circularly polarized luminescence, and electroluminescence are then introduced in detail. AIe-active poly.ers display the signal-amplification effect for sensitive and selective response to chemo/bioanaly.es or stimuli and enhanced photosensitization effect for cancer theranostics. Retrospecting the expansion of this field can further strengthen our belief that AIe-active poly.ers are promising for conceptual innovation and technological breakthroughs in the near future.

The numerous merits of conjugated poly.ers(CPs) have encouraged scientists to develop a variety of synthetic routes to CPs with diverse structures and functionalities. Among the large scope of substrates,alky.e plays an important role in constructing poly.ers with conjugated backbones. In addition to some well-developed reactions including Glaser–Hay and Sonogashira coupling, azide/thiol-y.e click reaction and cyclotrimerization, some novel alky.e-based reactions have also been explored such as oxidative polycoupling, decarbonylative polycoupling and multicomponent tandem poly.erizations. his review focuses on the recent progress on the synthetic methodology of CPs in the last ive years using monomers with two or more triple bonds and some of their high-technological applications. Selected examples of materials properties of these CPs are given in this review, such as luorescence response to chemical or physical stimuli, magnetism, white light emission, cell imaging and bioprobing. Finally, a short perspective is raised in regard to the outlook of the preparation methodologies, functionalities as well as potential applications of CPs in the future.

This study reports the synthesis and characterization of quinoline derivatives. The synthesized quinoline compounds were applied to the dyeing treatment of acrylic fabrics. The color fastness to washing and light of quinoline compound-dyed fabrics was examined. Human skin HaCaT cell line was also used for the skin cytotoxicity.evaluation of the quinoline compound-dyed acrylic fabrics.
