We study the effects of thermal radiation of a viscous incompressible fluid occupying a semi-infinite region of space bounded by an infinite horizontal moving hot flat plate in the presence of indirect natural convection by way of an induced pressure gradient. The fluid is a gray, absorbing emitting radiation but a non scattering medium. An exact solution is obtained by employing Laplace transform technique. Since temperature field depends on Reynold number the flow is considered to be non-isothermal case (the temperature of the plate Tw ≠ constant) and for an isothermal case (Tw = constant) the flow is determined by the Reynold number which is equal to 1.

Drug-Excipient Interaction of Methylphenidate with Glycerin in Methylphenidate Oral Solution and Identification of its Transesterification Products by UPLC-MS/MS

Reactions between active drug substances and excipients are of interest in the drug formulation process should be checked for the interactions during the storage conditions. Some excipients react with certain chemical groups in drug substances which will form new impurities in the finished product formulations. In the present paper transesterification reaction of methylphenidate with glycerin to form different structural isomeric products was described. These impurities identified in forced degradation studies, excipient compatibility studies and stability analysis of the finished product. Stability samples were analyzed and observed that about ~0.6% of the Methylphenidate content was transformed into methylphenidate-glycerin isomers within 3 Months at 40°C/75% RH and 18 Months at 25°C/60% RH conditions. Analysis of two lots of marketed preparations having expiry dates in 2012 and 2013 showed content of the Methylphenidate esters corresponding to ~0.6% of the declared Methylphenidate content. The samples of this impurity were investigated by HPLC, UPLC-MS/MS to generate the mechanism of the impurity formation.

Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set (IFS) can be used as a general tool for modeling problems of decision making under uncertainty where, the degree of rejection is defined simultaneously with the degree of acceptance of a piece of information in such a way that these degrees are not complement to each other. Accordingly, an attempt is made to solve intuitionistic fuzzy linear programming problems using a technique based on an earlier technique proposed by Zimmermann to solve fuzzy linear programming problem. Our proposed technique does not require the existing ranking of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. This method is also different from the existing weight assignment method or the Angelov’s method. A comparative study is undertaken and interesting results have been presented.

Under non-random uncertainty, a new idea of finding a possibly optimal solution for linear programming problem is examined in this paper. It is an application of the intuitionistic fuzzy set concept within scope of the existing fuzzy optimization. Here, we solve a linear programming problem (LPP) in an intuitionistic fuzzy environment and compare the result with the solution obtained from other existing techniques. In the process, the result of associated fuzzy LPP is also considered for a better understanding.

Spinal cord injury(SCI)affects approximately 200,000 individuals per year *** are more than 27 million people worldwide living with long-term disability due to ***,it was thought that the central nervous system(CNS)had little ability for regeneration;however,more recent studies have demonstrated potential for repair within the *** of this,there exists a renewed interest in the discovery of novel approaches to promote regeneration in the CNS including the spinal *** is important to know the roles of the microRNAs(miRNAs)in modulation of pathogenesis in SCI and the potentials of the miRNA-based clinical interventions for controlling post-injury symptoms and improving functional *** miRNAs,which are non-coding RNAs with an average of 22 nucleotides in length,are post-transcriptional gene regulators that cause degradation of the target mRNAs and thus negatively control their *** review article focuses on current research related to miRNAs and their roles in modulating SCI symptoms,asserting that miRNAs contribute to critical post-SCI molecular processes including neuroplasticity,functional recovery,astrogliosis,neuropathic pain,inflammation,and *** particular,miR-96 provides a promising therapeutic opportunity to improve the outcomes of clinical interventions,including the way SCI injuries are evaluated and treated.

We report a comprehensive study of electrical transport properties of stoichiometric (Mg,Ni)-ferrite in the temperature range 77 ≤ T ≤ 300K, applying magnetic field upto 1T in the frequency range 20 Hz-1 MHz. After ball milling of MgO, NiO and ?-Fe2O3 and annealing at 1473K, a (Mg,Ni)-ferrite phase is obtained. The temperature dependency of dc resistivity indicates the prevalence of a simple hopping type charge transport in all the investigated samples. The activation energy decreases by annealing the samples by 1473K. The dc magnetoresistivity of the samples is positive, which has been explained by using wave function shrinkage model. The frequency dependence of conductivity has been described by power law and the frequency exponent ‘s’ is found to be anomalous temperature dependent for ball milling and annealing samples. The real part of the dielectric permittivity at a fixed frequency was found to follow the power law ?/(f,T) ? Tn. The magnitude of the temperature exponent ‘n’ strongly depends on milling time and also on annealing temperature. The dielectric permittivity increases with milling and also with annealing. An analysis of the complex impedance by an ideal equivalent circuit indicates that the grain boundary contribution is dominating over the grain contribution in conduction process.

In the Himalayan regions, precipitation-runoff relationships are amongst the most complex hydrological phenomena, due to varying topography and basin characteristics. In this study, different artificial neural networks （ANNs） algorithms were used to simulate daily nmoff at three discharge measuring sites in the Himalayan Kosi River Basin, India, using various combinations of precipitation-runoff data as input variables. The data used for this study was collected for the monsoon period （June to Oc- tober） during the years of 2005 to 2009. ANNs were trained using different training algorithms, leaming rates, length of data and number of hidden neurons. A comprehensive multi-criteria validation test for precipitation-runoff modeling has been un- dertaken to evaluate model performance and test its validity for generating scenarios. Global statistics have demonstrated that the multilayer perceptron with three hidden layers （MLP-3） is the best ANN for basin comparisons with other MLP networks and Radial Basis Functions （RBF）. Furthermore, non-parametric tests also illustrate that the MLP-3 network is the best net- work to reproduce the mean and variance of observed runoff. The performance of ANNs was demonstrated for flows during the monsoon season, having different soil moisture conditions during period from June to October.
