The new properties.of engineered nanoparti- cles.drive the need for new knowledge on the s.fety, fate, behavior and biologic effects.of thes. particles.on organis.s.and ecos.s.ems. Titanium dioxide nanoparticles.have been us.d extens.vely for a wide range of applica- tions. e.g, s.lf-cleaning s.rface coatings. s.lar cells. water treatment agents. topical s.ns.reens. Within this.s.enario increas.d environmental expos.re can be expected but data on the ecotoxicological evaluation ofnanoparticles.are s.ill s.arce. The main purpos. of this.work was.the evaluation of effects.of TiO2 nanoparticles.in s.veral organis.s. covering different trophic levels. us.ng a battery of aquatic as.ays. Us.ng fis. as.a vertebrate model organis. tis.ue his.ological and ultras.ructural obs.rvations.and the s.res. enzyme activity were als. s.udied. TiO2 nanoparticles.（Aeroxide~ P25）, two phas. compos.tion ofanatas. （65%） and rutile （35%） with an average particle s.ze value of 27.64-11 nm were us.d. Res.lts.on the ECs. for the tes.ed aquatic organis.s.s.owed toxicity for the bacteria, the algae and the crus.acean, being the algae the mos. s.ns.tive tes.ed organis.. The aquatic plant Lemna minor s.owed no effect on growth. The fis. Caras.ius.auratus.s.owed no effect on a 21 day s.rvival tes., though at a biochemical level the cytos.lic Glutathione-s.Trans.eras. total activity, in intes.ines. s.owed a general s.gnificant decreas. （p〈0.05） after 14 days.of expos.re for all tes.ed concentrations. The pres.nce of TiO2 nanoparticles.aggregates.were obs.rved in the intes.ine lumen but their internalization by intes.ine cells.could not be confirmed.

Bas.n,eas.ern Antarctic Penins.la,is.pres.nted here,in order to s.ow how the microbiota has.been modified over time,triggered by environmental *** analyzed microfos.ils.cons.s. of palynomorphs.mos.ly pollen grains.s.ores.and dinoflagellate cys.s.,foraminifers.and *** cys.s.and pollen-s.ores.have been recorded in Juras.ic to Pleis.ocene s.dimentary *** cys.s.proved to be good indicators.for productivity and/or nutrient availability,s.rface water temperature and chemis.ry,the pos.tion of ancient s.orelines.and paleoceanographic *** and s.ores.allowed recons.ruction of floral community and thus.characterization of the climate that prevailed on the ***,recovered from the Lower Cretaceous.to the Pleis.ocene s.dimentary rocks.provided information about the bathymetry,s.owing different marine s.ttings.e.g.,coas.al,inner neritic,outer neritic,upper bathyal)in different *** bryozoan record is.res.ricted to the *** colonial growth-forms.reflect s.veral environmental conditions.s.ch as.s.allow waters.with a low rate of s.dimentation,hard s.bs.rate and moderate or s.rong current action for the analyzed *** s.udy of the Antarctic ecos.s.ems.bas.d on the fos.il microbiota and their res.ons. to the climate and the continental configuration changes.allowed unders.anding of the compos.tion and dynamics.of the polar environments.which have an important role in the Earth climate.

A s.milar effect was.already obs.rved by Haros.e et al.(2017), where clas.ical Morrey s.aces.M_(u,p)(?) were inves.igated. We deal with all cas.s.where the concept is.reas.nable and als. include the tricky limiting cas.s. Our res.lts.can be reformulated in terms.of optimal embeddings.into the s.ale of Lorentz s.aces.L_(p,q)(?).

Oxidative s.res. is.as.ociated with diabetes.mellitus. a condition characterized by increas.d prevalence and progres.ion rate of cardiovas.ular dis.as.. NFE2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) is.a mas.er regulator of cellular detoxification res.ons.s.and redox s.atus. The aim of this.s.udy was.to examine as.ociations.between type 2 Diabetes.Mellitus.(T2DM), oxidative s.res. and the expres.ion of NFE2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) in a population of diabetic patients.living in Juana Kos.ay City, s.n Luis. Argentina. In addition, we evaluated the functional relevance of Nrf2 by meas.ring the HO-1 expres.ion among pers.ns.with type 2 diabetes. We meas.red clinical and biochemical parameters.related to lipid metabolis. and oxidative s.res. in a population of Type 2 Diabetes.Mellitus.patients.(T2DM, n = 40) and controls.(Co, n = 30). Compared to Co, T2DM patients.had higher fas.ing s.rum glucos., glycated hemoglobin, triglycerides. total choles.erol, low-dens.ty lipoprotein choles.erol, and thiobarbituric acid reactive s.bs.ances.and lower high-dens.ty lipoprotein choles.erol. T2DM individuals.had als. higher atherogenic index and body mas. index than controls. We als. founded that HO-1 mRNA in whole blood was.lower in T2DM than controls. s.gges.ing that T2DM may have an altered antioxidant res.ons. to oxidative s.res.. Interes.ingly, we found reduced Nrf2 mRNA in whole blood from T2DM compared to Co. The res.lts.from this.s.udy provide novel evidence that genes.as.ociated to antioxidant defens. mechanis.s.are markedly reduced in patients.with type 2 diabetes. and that the reduction in the expres.ion of thes. genes.could be as.ociated to hyperglycemia and increas.d levels.of MDA. Linear regres.ion analys.s.revealed that there was.a s.rong and pos.tive correlation between the changes.of Nrf2 and HO-1 expres.ion levels.

The prevalence of anemia acros. s.udies.on patients.with inflammatory bowel dis.as. (IBD) is.high (30%). Both iron defi ciency (ID) and anemia of chronic dis.as. contribute mos. to the development of anemia in IBD. The prevalence of ID is.even higher (45%). Anemia and ID negatively impact the patient's.quality of life. Therefore, together with an adequate control of dis.as. activity, iron replacement therapy s.ould s.art as.s.on as.anemia or ID is.detected to attain a normal hemoglobin (Hb) and iron s.atus. Many patients.will res.ond to oral iron, but compliance may be poor, whereas.intravenous.(IV) compounds.are s.fe, provide a fas.er Hb increas. and iron s.ore repletion, and pres.nts.a lower rate of treatment dis.ontinuation. Abs.lute indications.for IV iron treatment s.ould include s.vere anemia, intolerance or inappropriate res.ons. to oral iron, s.vere intes.inal dis.as. activity, or us. of an erythropoietic s.imulating agent. Four different products.are principally us.d in clinical practice, which differ in their pharmacokinetic properties.and s.fety profi les. iron gluconate and iron s.cros. (lower s.ngle dos.s., and iron dextran and ferric carboxymaltos. (higher s.ngle dos.s.. After the initial res.lution of anemia and the repletion of iron s.ores. the patient's.hematological and iron parameters.s.ould be carefully and periodically monitored, and maintenance iron treatment s.ould be provided as.required. New IV preparations.that allow for giving 1000-1500 mg in a s.ngle s.s.ion, thus.facilitating patient management,provide an excellent tool to prevent or treat anemia and ID in this.patient population, which in turn avoids.allogeneic blood trans.us.on and improves.their quality of life.

The us. of genetically modified varieties.tolerant to herbicides.HT varieties.and res.s.ant to ins.cts.Bt varieties.in combination with application of a broad-s.ectrum herbicide s.ch as.glyphos.te could be an effective option for the s.multaneous.control of weeds.and pes.s.in ***,the pos.ible impact of thes. tools.on nontarget arthropods.s.ill needs.to be *** a field s.udy in central s.ain,potential changes.in populations.of canopy-dwelling arthropods.in Bt maize under different weed management options.including glyphos.te application,were ***-dwelling arthropods.were s.mpled by vis.al ins.ection and yellow s.icky *** Bt variety had no effect on any group of s.udied arthropods.except for the expected cas. of corn borers.the target pes.s.of Bt *** the effects.of herbicide regimes.the only obs.rved difference was.a lower abundance of Cicadellidae and Mymaridae on yellow s.icky traps.in plots.not treated with pre-emergence *** effect was.es.ecially pronounced in a treatment involving two glyphos.te *** decreas. in Cicadellidae and Mymaridae populations.was.as.ociated with a higher dens.ty of weeds.in plots.which may have hindered colonization of the crop by *** differences.however,were only s.gnificant in the las. year of the *** low likelihood of the us. of glyphos.te-and herbicide-tolerant varieties.for weed control triggering important effects.on the nontarget arthropod fauna of the maize canopy is.dis.us.ed.

Water deficit is.a major worldwide cons.raint to common bean(Phas.olus.vulgaris.L.)production,being photos.nthes.s.one of the mos. affected phys.ological *** gain ins.ghts.into the genetic bas.s.of the photos.nthetic res.ons. of common bean under water-limited conditions.a collection of 158 Portugues. acces.ions.was.grown under both well-watered and water-deficit *** gas.exchange parameters.were meas.red and photos.nthetic pigments.*** s.me collection was.genotyped us.ng s.P arrays.and s.P-trait as.ociations.tes.ed cons.dering a linear mixed model accounting for the genetic relatednes. among acces.ions.A total of 133 s.P-trait as.ociations.were identified for net CO 2 as.imilation rate,trans.iration rate,s.omatal conductance,and chlorophylls.a and b,carotenes.and xanthophyll *** of thes. as.ociations.were detected under water-deficit and 43 under well-watered conditions.with only two as.ociations.common to both *** candidate genes.revealed that s.omatal regulation,protein trans.ocation acros. membranes.redox mechanis.s.hormone,and os.otic s.res. s.gnaling were the mos. relevant proces.es.involved in common bean res.ons. to water-limited *** candidates.are now preferential targets.for common bean water-deficit-tolerance ***,new s.urces.of water-deficit tolerance of Andean,Mes.american,and admixed origin were detected as.acces.ions.valuable for breeding,and not yet explored.
