Risk Factors for Severity and Mortality in Adult Patients Confirmed with COVID-19 in Sierra Leone: A Retrospective Study

Background:The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a highly infectious respiratory *** is no recommended antiviral treatment approved for COVID-19 in Sierra Leone,and supportive care and protection of vital organ function are performed for the *** study summarized the clinical characteristics,drug treatments,and risk factors for the severity and prognosis of COVID-19 in Sierra Leone to provide evidence for the treatment of ***:Data of 180 adult COVID-19 patients from the 34th Military Hospital in Freetown Sierra Leone between March 31,2020 and August 11,2020 were retrospectively *** with severe and critically ill are classified in the severe group,while patients that presented asymptomatic,mild,and moderate disease were grouped in the non-severe *** clinical and laboratory information was retrospectively collected to assess the risk factors and treatment strategies for severe *** information,travel history,clinical symptoms and signs,laboratory detection results,chest examination findings,therapeutics,and clinical outcomes were collected from each case *** logistic analysis was adopted to identify the risk factors for ***,the clinical efficacy of dexamethasone treatment was ***:Seventy-six(42.22%)cases were confirmed with severe COVID-19,while 104 patients(57.78%)were divided into the non-severe ***(56.67%,102/180)and cough(50.00%,90/180)were the common symptoms of *** death rate was 18.89%(34/180),and severe pneumonia(44.12%,15/34)and septic shock(23.53%,8/34)represented the leading reasons for *** older age population,a combination of hypertension and diabetes,the presence of pneumonia,and high levels of inflammatory markers were significantly associated with severity of COVID-19 development(P<0.05 for all).Altered level of consciousness[odds ratio(OR)=56.574,95%confidence interval(CI)5.645–566.940,P=0.001],high levels of n

The power grid,as the hub connecting the power supply and consumption sides,plays an important role in achieving carbon neutrality in *** emerging carbon markets,assessing the investment benefits of power-grid enterprises is ***,studying the impact of the carbon market on the investment and operation of powergrid enterprises is key to ensuring their efficient ***,few studies have examined the interaction between the carbon and electricity markets using system dynamics models,highlighting a research gap in this *** study investigates the impact of the carbon market on the investment of power-grid enterprises using a novel evaluation system based on a system dynamics model that considers carbon-emissions from an established carbon-emission accounting ***,an index system for benefit evaluation was constructed from six aspects:financing ability,economic benefit,reliability,social responsibility,user satisfaction,and carbon-emissions.A system dynamics model was then developed to reflect the causal feedback relationship between the impact of the carbon market on the investment and operation of power-grid *** simulation results of a provincial power-grid enterprise analyze comprehensive investment evaluation benefits over a 10-year period and the impact of carbon emissions on the investment and operation of power-grid *** study provides guidelines for the benign development of power-grid enterprises within the context of the carbon market.

BACKGROUND Cervical cancer is a rare primary tumor resulting in metastases to the breast with few cases reported in *** metastases are associated with poor *** following case highlights the diagnostic challenges associated with metastatic cervical cancer to the breast along with individualized *** SUMMARY A 44-year-old G7P5025 with no significant past medical or surgical history presented with heavy vaginal to an outside emergency department where an exam and a pelvic magnetic resonance imaging showed a 4.5 cm heterogenous lobulated cervical mass involving upper two thirds of vagina,parametria and lymph node *** biopsies confirmed high grade adenocarcinoma with mucinous features.A positron emission tomography/computed tomography(PET/CT)did not show evidence of metastatic *** received concurrent cisplatin with external beam radiation *** up PET/CT scan three months later showed no suspicious fluorodeoxyglucose uptake in the cervix and no evidence of metastatic *** was lost to follow up for six *** was re-imaged on re-presentation and found to have widely metastatic disease including breast *** biopsy confirmed programmed death-ligand 1 positive metastatic cervical *** patient received six cycles of carboplatin and paclitaxel with *** imaging demonstrated *** continued on pembrolizumab with disease *** Metastatic cervical cancer to the breast is uncommon with nonspecific clinical findings that can make diagnosis *** history and immunohistochemical evaluation of breast lesion,and comparison to primary tumor can support diagnosis of metastatic cervical cancer to the ***,the prognosis is poor,but immunotherapy can be considered in select patients and may result in good disease response.

Erlotinib combination with a mitochondria-targeted ubiquinone effectively suppresses pancreatic cancer cell survival
