Objective:To determine how biochanin-A(BCA)affects high-fat diet and streptozotocin-induced pathological changes in lipid metabolism and antioxidant status in diabetic ***:Diabetic rats were orally administered BCA(10 mg/kg body weight)for 30 days to investigate its effects on lipid profiles and oxidative stress markers in the liver and *** addition,the mRNA expression of antioxidant and lipid metabolism enzymes in the liver was ***:BCA attenuated hyperlipidemia by regulating mRNA expressions of HMG-coa reductase,fatty acid synthase,carnitine palmitoyl transferase,and acetyl-coa ***,BCA reduced high-fat diet and streptozotocin-induced oxidative stress by suppressing lipid peroxidation,improving superoxide dismutase,catalase,and glutathione peroxidase levels,and upregulating mRNA expressions of these ***:BCA may be a promising nutraceutical for the treatment of dyslipidemia and oxidative stress associated with diabetes.

Utilizing anaerobic metabolisms for the production of biotechnologically relevant products presents potential advantages,such as increased yields and reduced energy ***,lower energy dissipation may indicate that certain reactions are operating closer to their thermodynamic *** stoichiometric analyses and genetic modifications are frequently employed in metabolic engineering,the use of thermodynamic tools to evaluate the feasibility of planned interventions is less *** this study,we propose a novel metabolic engineering strategy to achieve an efficient anaerobic production of poly-(R)-3-hydroxybutyrate(PHB)in the model organism Escherichia *** approach involves re-routing of two-thirds of the glycolytic flux through non-oxidative glycolysis and coupling PHB synthesis with NADH *** complemented our stoichiometric analysis with various thermodynamic approaches to assess the feasibility and the bottlenecks in the proposed engineered *** to our calculations,the main thermodynamic bottleneck are the reactions catalyzed by the acetoacetyl-coaβ-ketothiolase(EC 2.***.1.9)and the acetoacetyl-coa reductase(EC 1.***.1.36).Furthermore,we calculated thermodynamically consistent sets of kinetic parameters to determine the enzyme amounts required for sustaining the conversion *** the case of the engineered conversion route,the protein pool necessary to sustain the desired fluxes could account for 20%of the whole cell dry weight.

An experimental investigation were performed on the effect of the impulse electron-beam irradiation upon microstruc-ture of the surface layer and on wear resistance of a cutting tool for sintered TiC/NiCr cermet. The results showed that the surface electron-beam treatment of the TiC/NiCr cermet is an efficient method for investigating the mi-crostructure and phase composition in the surface layer of the powder composite and there are optimal regimes of electron-beam treatment, which ensure a substantial increase in the resistance of the cermet to wear during cutting of metals.

4-1BB(CD137)is a strong enhancer of the proliferation of CD8^(+)T *** these cells require increased production of energy and biomass to support their proliferation,we hypothesized that 4-1BB signaling activated glucose and fatty acid *** found that treatment with agonistic anti-4-1BB mAb promoted the proliferation of CD8^(+)T cells in vitro,increasing their size and *** with a glycolysis inhibitor and a fatty acid oxidation inhibitor revealed that CD8^(+)T cell proliferation required both glucose and fatty acid ***-4-1BB treatment increased glucose transporter 1 expression and activated the liver kinase B1(LKB1)-AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)-acetyl-coa carboxylase(ACC)signaling pathway,which may be responsible for activating the metabolism of glucose and fatty *** also examined whether blocking glucose or fatty acid metabolism affected cell cycle progression and the anti-apoptotic effect of 4-1BB *** increase of anti-apoptotic factors and cyclins in response to anti-4-1BB treatment was completely prevented by treating CD8^(+)T cells with the fatty acid oxidation inhibitor,etomoxir,but not with the glycolysis inhibitor,*** conclude that anti-4-1BB treatment activates glucose and fatty acid metabolism thus supporting the increased demand for energy and biomass,and that fatty acid metabolism plays a crucial role in enhancing the cell cycle progression of anti-CD3-activated CD8^(+)T cells in vitro and the anti-apoptotic effects of 4-1BB signaling on these cells.

在40～150Kg/cm2氢压下用管弹式谐振式反应器研究了氢-噻吩十二烷-催化剂体系三相床中催化加氢脱硫反应的形式动力学。在245～300℃范围内用小于0.5mm粒径的催化剂得到了消除外扩散及内扩散影响的动力学关系为:反应速率r=k′PHCTP,k′=1.12×10-4(分-1,大气压-1)（267℃,NiMo/Al2O3）;上述条件下活化能为24700卡/克分子;当催化剂粒度大于0.5mm时内扩散影响加大使颗粒有效系数η下降。用四氢萘部分代替十二烷的作用,发现无论是在NiMo/Al2O3还是在铁系催化剂上都使噻吩的加氢脱硫转化率下降,即在此条件下四氢萘没有供氢作用。

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading global cause of mortality and disease burden. statins are the most prescribed lipid-lowering drugs to treat hypercholesterolemia and prevent CVDs. The biochemical mechanism of statins consists of competitive inhibition of the 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coa reductase enzyme (HMG-coaR)， the limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis. Due to statin intolerance in some patient groups， the search for new inhibitors is a field of great interest. This review focusses on the studies reporting the inhibitory effect of protein hydrolysates and biopeptides on the HMG-coaR enzyme activity. The analysis of the action mechanism and physicochemical characteristics of the HMG-coaR inhibitory peptides revealed that the molecular weight， amino acid composition， charge， and polarity are key aspects of the interaction with the HMG-coaR enzyme. In conclusion， this review reveals the potential of using food peptides as new cholesterol-lowering agents and opens a new interesting field of research. However， clinical approaches are mandatory to confirm their therapeutic hypercholesterolemic effect.
