This paper deals with optimal pricing of a personalized product such as a personal portrait or photo. A new model of the pricing structure inspired by two real-life cases is introduced to the literature and solved to obtain optimal photo sitting fees and the final product price. A sensitivity analysis with respect to the problem parameters is performed.

The epididymal β-defensins have evolved by repeated gene duplication and divergence to encode a family of proteins that provide direct protection against pathogens and also support the male reproductive tract in its primary function. Male tract defensins also facilitate recovery from pathogen attack. The β-defensins possess ancient conserved sequence and structural features widespread in multi-cellular organisms, suggesting fundamental roles in species survival. Primate SPAG11, the functional fusion of two ancestrally independent β-defensin genes, produces a large family of alternatively spliced transcripts that are expressed according to tissue-specific and species-specific constraints. The complexity of SPAG11 varies in different branches of mammalian evolution. Interactions of human SPAG11D with host proteins indicate involvement in multiple signaling pathways. （Asian J Andro12007 July; 9： 453- 462）

Cancer Drug Resistance publishes contributions to understanding the biology and consequences of mechanisms that interfere with successful treatment of cancer. Since virtually all patients who die of metastatic cancer have multidrug-resistant tumors, improved treatment will require an understanding of the mechanisms of resistance to design therapies that circumvent these mechanisms, exploit these mechanisms, or inactivate these multidrug resistance mechanisms. One example of a resistance mechanism is the expression of ATP-binding cassette efflux pumps, but unfortunately, inhibition of these transporters has not proved to be the solution to overcome multidrug resistance in cancer. Other mechanisms that confer multidrug resistance, and the confluence of multiple different mechanisms (multifactorial multidrug resistance) have been identified, and it is the goal of this Special Collection to expand this catalog of potential multidrug resistance mechanisms, to explore novel ways to overcome resistance, and to present thoughtful reviews on the problem of multidrug resistance in cancer.

Introduction and Objectives:Due to the value of extra virgin olive oil(EVOO),adulteration has become an important issue in the industry,which has created demand for quick and inexpensive fraud detection *** contrast to many current food fraud detection methods,near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)can be inexpensive and convenient by minimizing sample preparation and measurement *** this study,we developed a method using NIRS and chemometrics to detect adulteration of EVOO with other edible oil types that does not require sample preparation and can be completed in less than 10 ***,Results,and Discussions:First,a single EVOO was adulterated with corn oil from 2.7%to 25%w/*** for the unadulterated sample and its adulterated counterparts were measured.A principal component analysis(PCA)scores plot showed separation between the adulterated mixtures and the unadulterated sample,which demonstrated that the developed method could detect as low as 2.7%w/w adulteration if an unadulterated sample of the oil in question is *** study adulteration detection without an unadulterated sample for reference,the spectra of unadulterated samples and samples adulterated with corn,sunflower,soybean,and canola oils were measured.A PCA with soft independent modelling of class analogy was used for adulteration *** limits of adulteration detection for corn,sunflower,soybean,and canola oils were found to be approximately 20%,20%,15%,and 10%,***:These results demonstrate that the developed method can be used to rapidly screen for adulterated olive oils.

Deep reinforcement learning (deep RL) has the potential to replace classic robotic controllers. State-of-the-art Deep Reinforcement algorithms such as Proximal Policy Optimization, Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient and Soft Actor-Critic Reinforcement Algorithms, to mention a few, have been investigated for training robots to walk. However, conflicting performance results of these algorithms have been reported in the literature. In this work, we present the performance analysis of the above three state-of-the-art Deep Reinforcement algorithms for a constant velocity walking task on a quadruped. The performance is analyzed by simulating the walking task of a quadruped equipped with a range of sensors present on a physical quadruped robot. Simulations of the three algorithms across a range of sensor inputs and with domain randomization are performed. The strengths and weaknesses of each algorithm for the given task are discussed. we also identify a set of sensors that contribute to the best performance of each Deep Reinforcement algorithm.

The performance of the state-of-the-art Deep Reinforcement algorithms such as Proximal Policy Optimization, Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient, and Soft Actor-Critic for generating a quadruped walking gait in a virtual environment was presented in previous research work titled “A Comparison of PPO, TD3, and SAC Reinforcement Algorithms for Quadruped walking Gait Generation”. we demonstrated that the Soft Actor-Critic Reinforcement algorithm had the best performance generating the walking gait for a quadruped in certain instances of sensor configurations in the virtual environment. In this work, we present the performance analysis of the state-of-the-art Deep Reinforcement algorithms above for quadruped walking gait generation in a physical environment. The performance is determined in the physical environment by transfer learning augmented by real-time reinforcement learning for gait generation on a physical quadruped. The performance is analyzed on a quadruped equipped with a range of sensors such as position tracking using a stereo camera, contact sensing of each of the robot legs through force resistive sensors, and proprioceptive information of the robot body and legs using nine inertial measurement units. The performance comparison is presented using the metrics associated with the walking gait: average forward velocity (m/s), average forward velocity variance, average lateral velocity (m/s), average lateral velocity variance, and quaternion root mean square deviation. The strengths and weaknesses of each algorithm for the given task on the physical quadruped are discussed.
