An aerosol electrical mobility spectrum analyzer(AEMSA),developed at Hanyang University,was employed to investigate the particle charge characteristics in the Antarctic and Arctic *** particle charge characteristics in these areas were compared with the charging state in Ansan,South Korea,located in the midlatitude,where artificial factors,such as human activity,urbanization,and traffic,might result in a higher total ***,in Ansan,South Korea,the charged-particle polarity ratio was very stable and was close to ***,notably different particle charge characteristics were obtained in the Antarctic and Arctic *** imbalance between the numbers of positively and negatively charged particles was evident,resulting in more positive charges on the atmospheric *** average,the positively charged particle concentrations in the Antarctic and Arctic areas were 1.4 and 2.8 times higher,respectively,compared with the negatively charged *** developed AEMSA system and the findings of this study provide useful information on the characteristics of atmospheric aerosols in the Antarctic and Arctic regions and can be further utilized to study particle formation mechanisms.

AIM: To assess intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging (IVIM-DWI) for monitoring early efficacy of chemotherapy in a human gastric cancer mouse ***: IVIM-DWI was performed with 12 b-values (0-800 s/mm2) in 25 human gastric cancer-bearing nude mice at baseline (day 0), and then they were randomly divided into control and 1-, 3-, 5- and 7-d treatment groups (n = 5 per group). The control group underwent longitudinal MRI scans at days 1, 3, 5 and 7, and the treatment groups underwent subsequent MRI scans after a specified 5-fluorouracil/calcium folinate treatment. Together with tumor volumes (TV), the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and IVIM parameters [true water molecular diffusion coefficient (D), perfusion fraction (f) and pseudo-related diffusion coefficient (D*)] were measured. The differences in those parameters from baseline to each measurement (ΔTV%, ΔADC%, ΔD%, Δf% and ΔD*%) were calculated. After image acquisition, tumor necrosis, microvessel density (MVD) and cellular apoptosis were evaluated by hematoxylin-eosin (HE), CD31 and terminal-deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining respectively, to confirm the imaging findings. Mann-Whitney test and Spearman’s correlation coefficient analysis were ***: The observed relative volume increase (ΔTV%) in the treatment group were significantly smaller than those in the control group at day 5 (ΔTVtreatment% = 19.63% ± 3.01% and ΔTVcontrol% = 83.60% ± 14.87%, P = 0.008) and day 7 (ΔTVtreatment% = 29.07% ± 10.01% and ΔTVcontrol% = 177.06% ± 63.00%, P = 0.008). Dear Editor,Angiosarcoma is a rare malignancy,which accounts for approximately 1%-2%of soft-tissue sarcomas[1].It can occur at any site within the human *** research-ers suggested that site distribution may be different between Eastern Asian and Western countries[1].Sev-eral factors,such as age,stage at diagnosis,performance status,site of the disease,histological grade,tumor size,and visceral involvement,were suggested as prognos-tic factors in angiosarcoma[2-5].However,there is still controversy regarding to which prognostic factors are significantly *** there are no randomized clinical trials for angiosarcoma,its treatments are guided based on guidelines of soft-tissue sarcoma or the results of several retrospective *** surgery is the preferred treatment for angiosarcoma[2-4].Some stud-ies suggested that receiving adjuvant chemotherapy(CT)is associated with better outcome[5],while other studies have shown that adjuvant CT has no significant effect[6,7].Chemoradiotherapy has been reported to be effective in angiosarcoma especially for cutaneous angiosarcoma[8].However,evidence for the efficacy and safety of pal-liative cytotoxic CT is still ***,here,we present our analysis based on the clinical features,tumor characteristics,treatment and outcomes of angiosarcoma patients in an attempt to investigate the significant prog-nostic factors and efficient therapeutics in real clinical practice.

Workow management technologies have been dramatically improving their deployment architectures and systems along with the evolution and proliferation of cloud distributed computing ***,such cloud computing environments ought to be providing a suitable distributed computing paradigm to deploy very large-scale workow processes and applications with scalable on-demand *** this paper,we focus on the distribution paradigm and its deployment formalism for such very large-scale workow applications being deployed and enacted across the multiple and heterogeneous cloud computing *** propose a formal approach to vertically as well as horizontally fragment very large-scale workow processes and their applications and to deploy the workow process and application fragments over three types of cloud deployment models and *** concretize the formal approach,we rstly devise a series of operational situations fragmenting into cloud workow process and application components and deploying onto three different types of cloud deployment models and *** concrete approaches are called the deployment-driven fragmentation mechanism to be applied to such very large-scale workow process and applications as an implementing component for cloud workow management ***,we strongly believe that our approach with the fragmentation formalisms becomes a theoretical basis of designing and implementing very large-scale and maximally distributed workow processes and applications to be deployed on cloud deployment models and architectural computing environments as well.

Neurological disorders including neurodegenerative diseases,brain tumors,and stroke are the second leading cause of death and the greatest cause of disability ***,it remains challenging to achieve effective drug delivery to the central nervous system for treatments of neurological diseases due to the blood-brain barrier(BBB).The function of the BBB is regulated by the physiological interactions between various types of cells in the neurovascular unit(NVU).In the NVU,the brain vasculature of the BBB is surrounded by brain pericytes,brain astrocytes,neurons,and microglia(Figure 1).Moreover,the NVU at the levels of arteries and veins includes contractile smooth muscle cells(Schaeffer and Iadecola,2021).

Deep learning has been constantly improving in recent years,and a significant number of researchers have devoted themselves to the research of defect detection *** and recognition of small and complex targets is still a problem that needs to be *** authors of this research would like to present an improved defect detection model for detecting small and complex defect targets in steel *** steel strip production,mechanical forces and environmental factors cause surface defects of the steel ***,the detection of such defects is key to the production of high-quality ***,surface defects of the steel strip cause great economic losses to the high-tech *** far,few studies have explored methods of identifying the defects,and most of the currently available algorithms are not sufficiently ***,this study presents an improved real-time metallic surface defect detection model based on You Only Look Once(YOLOv5)specially designed for small *** the smaller features of the target,the conventional part is replaced with a depthwise convolution and channel shuffle *** assigning weights to Feature Pyramid Networks(FPN)output features and fusing them,increases feature propagation and the network’s characterization *** experimental results reveal that the improved proposed model outperforms other comparable models in terms of accuracy and detection *** precision of the proposed model achieved by mAP@0.5 is 77.5%on the Northeastern University,Dataset(NEU-DET)and 70.18%on the GC10-DET datasets.

Abstract. We find the minimal free resolution of a fat star-configuration X in Pn of type （r, s,t） defined by general forms of degrees d1,...,dr, and show that a fat linear star- configuration X in P2 never has generic Hilbert function if （s,t） ≠ （1, 1） or （2, 2）. These two results generalize the interesting results of [2].

We propose a new stabilization method for linear systems with distributed input delay via reduction transformation and Riccati equation *** the presented stabilization scheme,the gain matrix of controller is constructed by the well-known linear control technique for delay-free *** transformation kernel matrix can be determined by solving the non-symmetric matrix Riccati equation backward with the boundary *** point delay systems are considered,it will be shown that the proposed control law degenerates to the standard one for input delay systems.
