Variations in parameters associated with the ambient environment can introduce noise in soft,body-worn *** example,many piezoresistive pressure sensors exhibit a high degree of sensitivity to fluctuations in temperature,thereby requiring active compensation *** research presented here addresses this challenge with a multilayered 3D microsystem design that integrates four piezoresistive sensors in a full-Wheatstone bridge *** optimized layout of the sensors relative to the neutral mechanical plane leads to both an insensitivity to temperature and an increased sensitivity to pressure,relative to previously reported devices that rely on similar operating *** this 3D pressure sensor into a soft,flexible electronics platform yields a system capable of real-time,wireless measurements from the surface of the *** above the radial and carotid arteries yields high-quality waveforms associated with pulsatile blood flow,with quantitative correlations to blood *** results establish the materials and engineering aspects of a technology with broad potential in remote health monitoring.

Individuals who are unable to walk independently spend most of the day in a *** population is at high risk for developing pressure injuries caused by ***,early diagnosis and prevention of these injuries still remain ***,we introduce battery-free,wireless,multimodal sensors and a movable system for continuous measurement of pressure,temperature,and hydration at skin *** device design includes a crack-activated pressure sensor with nanoscale encapsulations for enhanced sensitivity,a temperature sensor for measuring skin temperature,and a galvanic skin response sensor for measuring skin hydration *** movable system enables power harvesting,and data communication to multiple wireless devices mounted at skin-cushion interfaces of wheelchair users over full body *** evaluations and numerical simulations of the devices,together with clinical trials for wheelchair patients,demonstrate the feasibility and stability of the sensor system for preventing pressure injuries caused by sitting.

Microalgae are one of the promising feedstocks for biorefinery,contributing significantly to net-zero emissions through carbon capture and ***,the disposal of microalgal byproducts from the manufacturing process causes additional environmental pollution,thus,a new application strategy is *** this study,the Tetraselmis suecica byproduct from the carotenoid extraction process was carbonized and converted into *** converted biochar was proved to be nitrogen-doped biochar(NDB),up to 4.69%,with a specific surface area of 206.59m^(2)/g andwas used as an electrode for a *** NDB electrode(NDB-E)in half-cell showed a maximum specific capacitance of 191 F/*** a full-cell test,the NDB-E exhibited a high energy density of 7.396 Wh/kg and a high-power density of 18,100 W/kg,and maintained specific capacity of 95.5%after charge and discharge of 10,000 *** conclusion,our study demonstrated that the carotenoid-extracted microalgal byproducts are a useful resource for the supercapacitor *** approach is the first to convert *** into active materials for supercapacitors.

All-solid-state batteries(ASSBs)are pursued due to their potential for better safety and high energy ***,the energy density of the cathode for ASSBs does not seem to be satisfactory due to the low utilization of active materials(AMs)at high *** small amount of solid electrolyte(SE)powder in the cathode,poor electrochemical performance is often observed due to contact loss and non-homogeneous distribution of AMs and SEs,leading to high tortuosity and limitation of lithium and electron transport ***,we propose a novel cathode design that can achieve high volumetric energy density of 1258 Wh L^(-1)at high AM content of 85 wt%by synergizing the merits of AM@SE core–shell composite particles with conformally coated thin SE shell prepared from mechanofusion process and small SE *** core–shell structure with an intimate and thin SE shell guarantees high ionic conduction pathway while unharming the electronic *** addition,small SE particles play the role of a filler that reduces the packing porosity in the cathode composite electrode as well as between the cathode and the SE separator *** systematic demonstration of the optimization process may provide understanding and guidance on the design of electrodes for ASSBs with high electrode density,capacity,and ultimately energy density.

The human fingertip consists of a fingerprint with many micro-grating *** main roles of the fingerprint could be divided into two purposes,namely,the enhancement of the frictional force and the effective transmittance of the *** this study,we present the fingerprint-inspired end-effector that has not only admirable frictional force but also electric *** end-effector is composed of fluorocarbon rubber,one of the famous materials to achieve high frictional force and *** various experiments,the novel performance of micro structured fluorocarbon rubber end-effector(MSFE)is characterized by comparing with a macroscale patterned sample(MPS),which has been already used in real industrial *** results are analyzed ***,as feasible applications,we suggest two applications based on the role of the *** is the conductive astronaut glove with high frictional force,and the other one is a non-slip pad for the next-generation glass transfer *** these experiments,we successfully observe the enhanced system performance and confirm the possibility of using the MSFE as feasible *** believe that the MSFE could be a useful and powerful alternative as an end-effector,not only in the aerospace industry but also in display manufacturing processes.

Matrix Rings over Reflexive Rings

The concept of reflexive property is introduced by Mason. This note concerns a ring-theoretic property of matrix rings over reflexive rings. We introduce the concept of weakly reflexive rings as a generalization of reflexive rings. From any ring, we can construct weakly reflexive rings but not reflexive, using its lower nilradical. We study various useful properties of such rings in relation with ideals in matrix rings, showing that this new property is Morita invariant. We also investigate the weakly reflexive property of several sorts of ring extensions which have roles in ring theory.

Our results generalize those of(Thanh et al. SIAM J. Control Optim., 49,106–124(2011), Han and Xiang J. Ineq. Appl., 2016, 313(2016), Li et al. J. Ineq. Appl., 2017, 182(2017), and Wang et al. Statistics, 52, 503–518(2018).)

We present UBVI surface photometry over a 20.5' × 20.5' area of the late-type spiral galaxy NGC 300. We have derived isophotal maps, surface brightness profiles, ellipticity profiles, position angle profiles, and color profiles. By merging our I-band measurements with those of Boker et al. based on Hubble Space Telescope observations, we have obtained combined I-band surface brightness profiles for the region 0.02' < r < 500' and have decomposed the profiles into three components: a nucleus, a bulge, and an exponential disk.

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of TiB-Containing Al–Zn Binary Alloys

The microstructure and mechanical properties of newly developed Al-35Zn cast alloys with TiB refiner addition were evaluated by X-ray diffractometry, optical microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive spectrometry. The microstructure of these alloys featured α-Al den- drites surrounded by AI-Zn （α ＋ rI） eutectic structures. After the addition of TiB refiner, the alloy grain sizes decreased, and its morphology abruptly changed from dendritic to equiaxed grains. Such an im- proved microstructure of the modified alloys was accompanied by a significant increase in the tensile strength and elongation percentage compared to those of the AI-Zn or Zn-Al-based alloys. The results showed that with the increase of TiB content up to 0.05%, the morphology of α-Al dendrites and α ＋ T1 phases changed from coarse dendrite and lamellar structures into independent and fine ones. Based on these results, the effect of TiB refiner addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the AI-35Zn binary alloys was investigated.

We report that the corrosion resistance of Mg is significantly improved by adding 0.05wt%*** rates evaluated from weight loss values after room-temperature immersion in 0.6 M NaCl solution for two weeks were 0.27 and 4.0 mm y^(-1)for the high-purity Mg samples with and without microalloyed 0.05wt%Sc,*** beneficial effect of Sc microalloying on the corrosion resistance of Mg is discussed in connection with Sc-induced microstructural modifications.
