The relationship between the photometric, electric, and thermal parameters of light-emitting diodes（LEDs） is important for optimizing the LED illumination design. Indium gallium aluminium phosphide（InGaalP）-based thin-film surface-mounted device（SMD） LEDs have attracted wide attention in research and development due to their portability and miniaturization. We report the optical characterization of InGaalP thin-film SMD LED mounted on FR4, 2 W, and 5 W aluminum（al） packages. The optical and thermal parameters of LED are determined at different injection currents and ambient temperatures by combining the T3ster（thermal transient tester） and Teral ED（thermal and radiometric characterization of power LEDs） systems. Analysis shows that LED on a 5 W al substrate package obtains the highest luminous and optical efficiency.

The properties of goat meat gels without and with 120 mmol/kg CaCl_(2)as influenced by setting time(30-120 min)at 60℃ were studied.A gel set for 60 min with subsequent cooking for 20 min in the presence of CaCl_(2)had the highest breaking force and deformation with coincidentally lowest expressible moisture content(Pall gels tested(P>0.05).A decrease in the myosin heavy-chain band intensity was noticeable when CaCl_(2)was incorporated,suggesting increased protein *** setting time increased,the L*values increased with varying a*values,whereas no differences in b*values of gels were found,regardless of CaCl_(2)addition(P>0.05).The gel containing CaCl_(2)with setting time of 60 min had the highest hardness,cohesiveness,gumminess,and chewiness(Palls prepared under aforementioned conditions had higher texture and overall likeness scores,compared with the control(Palls with improved quality.

Establishing environmental institutions will aid in providing effective responses on any changes in the status of environment by improving the current policies by having solid management strategies to combat environmental degradation. all the six member countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have established similar environmental institutional bodies that serve with the mandate of conserving and protecting the environment. Degrees of implementation, wealth, state of environment reporting and strategic planning are varying and closer inspection has to be done. Institutionalization in GCC states has to be promoted to cover major framework of sustainable development strategies. This will guarantee the use-effectiveness of those polices and other environmental management tools to ensure sustainable development of the natural resources. This paper attempts to list and examine the current status of all GCC country’s environment institutional framework and setup through comparison of the available information, highlighting the achievement of some and providing some guidance for others on how it could be enhanced.

Forecasting solar power generation using evolutionary mating algorithm-deep neural networks

This paper proposes an integration of recent metaheuristic algorithm namely Evolutionary Mating algorithm (EMA) in optimizing the weights and biases of deep neural networks (DNN) for forecasting the solar power generation. The study employs a Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN) to forecast AC power output using real solar power plant measurements spanning a 34-day period, recorded at 15-minute intervals. The intricate nonlinear relationship between solar irradiation, ambient temperature, and module temperature is captured for accurate prediction. Additionally, the paper conducts a comprehensive comparison with established algorithms, including Differential Evolution (DE-DNN), Barnacles Mating Optimizer (BMO-DNN), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO-DNN), Harmony Search algorithm (HSA-DNN), DNN with Adaptive Moment Estimation optimizer (ADAM) and Nonlinear AutoRegressive with eXogenous inputs (NARX). The experimental results distinctly highlight the exceptional performance of EMA-DNN by attaining the lowest Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) during testing. This contribution not only advances solar power forecasting methodologies but also underscores the potential of merging metaheuristic algorithms with contemporary neural networks for improved accuracy and reliability.

During the last decade the emergence of Internet of Things(IoT)based applications inspired the world by providing state of the art solutions to many common *** traffic management systems to urban cities planning and development,IoT based home monitoring systems,and many other smart *** of these facilities,most of these IoT based solutions are data driven and results in small accuracy values for smaller *** order to address this problem,this paper presents deep learning based hybrid approach for the development of an IoT-based intelligent home security and appliance control system in the smart *** hybrid model consists of;convolution neural network and binary long short term model for the object detection to ensure safety of the homes while IoT based hardware components like;Raspberry Pi,Amazon Web services cloud,and GSM modems for remotely accessing and controlling of the home *** android application is developed and deployed on Amazon Web Services(AWS)cloud for the remote monitoring of home appliances.A GSM device and Message queuing telemetry transport(MQTT)are integrated for communicating with the connected IoT devices to ensure the online and offline *** object detection purposes a camera is connected to Raspberry Pi using the proposed hybrid neural network *** applicability of the proposed model is tested by calculating results for the object at varying distance from the camera and for different intensity levels of the *** many applications the proposed model promises for providing optimum results for the small amount of data and results in high recognition rates of 95.34%compared to the conventional recognition model(k nearest neighbours)recognition rate of 76%.

An efficient and low noise short wavelength band erbium-doped fibre amplifier （S-band EDFA） is proposed and demonstrated using double-pass configuration. This amplifier provides a gain of 1500 nm signal as high as 26.9 dB, which is 9.6 dB higher than the two-stage single-pass amplifier. The corresponding noise figure obtained is 7.5 dB, which is of the same level as in the single-pass amplifier and more than 2 dB lower than the previously reported double-pass amplifier [IEIOE Electron. Express 2 （2005） 182]. The gain enhancement is due to the double pass-propagation of the test signal in the second stage, which increases the effective erbium-doped fibre （EDF） length. The low noise is attributed to the optical circulator between EDFs, which prevents the backward amplified spontaneous emission from propagating into the input part of the amplifier. The proposed amplifier is expected to play an important role in the development of a practical S-band EDFA.

Genetic transformation of rice(Oryza sativa L.) by introducing beneficial traits is now a central research instrument in plant physiology and a practical tool for plant improvement. Many approaches are verified for stable introduction of foreign genes into the plant genome. The review examined the different constraints that limit the success of rice genetic transformation via Agrobacterium-mediated approach and suggested possible solutions. Explant identification, gene transfer technique and construct to tailor the integration, transgene expression without collateral to genetic damage and transformant selection are among the technical challenges affecting the rice transformation. Despite the contests, Agrobacteriummediated transformation system has been a better option for producing transgenic rice varieties because of its exact T-DNA processing and simple integration of low copy-number transgene. This information is necessary for improving the transformation system for recalcitrant rice varieties.

Voids size distribution in gelled waxy crude oil under dynamic and static cooling

Waxy crude oil is known for its high wax contents that can potentially result in gelling following sufficient cooling of the transportation line in the subsea bed at offshore *** gelling over the entire lines requires an accurately predicted restart pressure to restart the clogged and idle ***,the common way of predicting the restart pressure has been reported to result in over-designed and predicted piping *** research findings evidenced the formation of voids which would reduce the restart pressure *** study conducted in this paper is aimed at investigating the voids size distribution in gelled crude oil across and along transportation *** of experiments simulating crude oil transportation during both static and dynamic cooling were *** gelled crude oil below the pour point temperature was then scanned using a Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)system to detect the voids *** resulting voids at each scanning cross-section were quantified,and their distributions were *** was observed that dynamic cooling had minimal impacts on the voids size difference along the pipeline with the difference in voids areas within 10 mm^(2) to be twice and uniform for the entire flow rates ***,voids size in statically cooled waxy crude oil was found to be highly distributed with a maximum of 6 voids size distribution in 10 mm2 *** low-end temperature had the highest size difference while the difference was decreasing with higher end *** study shows that the voids amount in dynamically cooled waxy crude oil could also be estimated with lower numbers of cross-sectional voids ***,the higher cross-sectional voids detection is recommended while estimating voids in statically cooled waxy crude oil.
