Solar Driven 15.7% Hydrogen Conversion by Harmony of Light Harvesting,Electron Transporting Bridge,and S-Defection in a Self-Assembled Microscale CuS/rGO/CP Photoanode

CuS is an encouraging photoelectrode candidate that meets the essential requirements for efficient solar-to-hydrogen production,but it has not been thoroughly studied.A CuS light absorber layer is grown by the self-assembly of copper and sulfur precursors on a carbon paper （CP） ***,rCO is introduced as a buffer layer to control the optical and electrical properties of the *** well-ordered microstructural arrangement suppresses the recombination loss of electrons and holes owing to enhanced charge-carrier generation,separation,and *** potential reaching 10mA cm-2in 1.0 M KOH solution is significantly lowered to 0.87 V,and the photocurrent density at 1.23 V is 94.7 mA *** computational result reveals that the potential-determining step is sensitive to O*stability; the lower stability of O*in the thin layer of CuS/rCO decreases the free-energy gap between the initial and final states of the potential-determining step,resulting in a lowering of the onset *** faradaic efficiency for the photoelectrochemical oxygen evolution reaction in the optimized 2CuS/1rCO/CP photoanode is 98.60%,and the applied bias photon-to-current and the solar-to-hydrogen efficiencies are 11.2%and 15.7%,respectively,and its ultrahigh performance is maintained for 250 *** record-breaking achievement indices may be a trigger for establishing a green hydrogen economy.

Enhancement of the Pore Interconnectivity and Porosity of Calcium Phosphate Scaffolds by Acid-Etching Method

Porous hydroxyapatite （HA）-tricalcium phosphate （TCP） ceramic scaffolds were prepared using a screw-type extrusion method with polymer beads. HA and dicalcium phosphate dehydrates （DCPD） were added at various ratios to obtain different HA/TCP ratios in sintered ceramic scaffolds. To further enhance the pore interconnectivity and porosity, the developed porous ceramic scaffolds were etched with acid solutions. The maximum porosity （- 85%） was observed in the Ca-P scaffold with the lowest HA （-7%） content. On the other hand, the maximum compressive strength was noted in the scaffolds with the highest HA content （ - 85%）. X-ray diffraction showed that the extent of the fl-TCP to a-TCP phase transformation increased with decreasing HA/DCPD ratio. All HCl-etched scaffolds were observed to generate micropores, which improved the interconnectivity, while biomineralization was found to be the same for both the HCl-etched and non- etched scaffolds. In particular, hydrochloric acid etching is a promising method for improving the interconnectivity and porosity of the ceramic scaffolds.

Acute esophageal obstruction after ingestion of psyllium seed husk powder:A case report

BACKGROUND Bezoar is a mass of hardened external material found in the gastrointestinal(GI)*** may form anywhere in the GI tract,but esophageal bezoar is rare because of the short esophageal transit *** seed husk is an indigestible natural derivative that is widely used as an herbal ***,we report a case of acute esophageal obstruction caused by a bezoar after ingestion of psyllium seed husk *** SUMMARY A 76-year-old male with Parkinson’s disease visited the emergency department with swallowing difficulty approximately 10 h after ingesting psyllium seed husk *** began a few hours after ingestion and progressed to severe *** were no abnormal findings on simple ***,a computed tomography scan revealed an approximately 2.0 cm×2.5 cm mass located near the gastro-esophageal *** grinding,the mass was removed using an endoscopic capture *** bezoars may cause life-threatening *** with Parkinson’s disease may have esophageal motility dysfunction,which may increase esophageal transit *** our patient had Parkinson’s disease,this effect may have contributed to the formation of the *** Attention should be paid to using bulk-laxatives,and an appropriate specified regimen will be needed when marketed as a dietary supplement.

Despite the excellent merits of lead perovskite solar cells, their instability and toxicity still present a bottleneck for practical applications. Bismuth perovskite has emerged as a candidate for photovoltaic (PV) applications, because it not only has a low toxicity but is also stable in air. However, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) remains an unsolved problem. We performed band gap tuning experiments to improve the efficiency. The absorption of ABi3I10 structure films was extended within the visible region, and the optical band gap was decreased considerably compared to that for Cs3Bi2I9. Furthermore, we explained the correlation between the structure and the optical properties via a first-principles study. A device employing CsBi3I10 as a photoactive layer exhibits a PCE of 1.51% and an excellent ambient stability over 30 days.

Transplantation of human adipose tissue-derived stem cells for repair of injured spiral ganglion neurons in deaf guinea pigs

Excessive noise, ototoxic drugs, infections, autoimmune diseases, and aging can cause loss of spiral ganglion neurons, leading to permanent sensorineural hearing loss in mammals. Stem cells have been confirmed to be able to differentiate into spiral ganglion neurons. Little has been reported on adipose tissue-derived stem cells（ADSCs） for repair of injured spiral ganglion neurons. In this study, we hypothesized that transplantation of neural induced-human ADSCs（NI-h ADSCs） can repair the injured spiral ganglion neurons in guinea pigs with neomycin-induced sensorineural hearing loss. NI-h ADSCs were induced with culture medium containing basic fibroblast growth factor and forskolin and then injected to the injured cochleae. Guinea pigs that received injection of Hanks＇ balanced salt solution into the cochleae were used as controls. Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that at 8 weeks after cell transplantation, the number of surviving spiral ganglion neurons in the cell transplantation group was significantly increased than that in the control group. Also at 8 weeks after cell transplantation, immunohistochemical staining showed that a greater number of NI-h ADSCs in the spiral ganglions were detected in the cell transplantation group than in the control group, and these NI-h ADSCs expressed neuronal markers neurofilament protein and microtubule-associated protein 2. Within 8 weeks after cell transplantation, the guinea pigs in the cell transplantation group had a gradually decreased auditory brainstem response threshold, while those in the control group had almost no response to 80 d B of clicks or pure tone burst. These findings suggest that a large amount of NI-h ADSCs migrated to the spiral ganglions, survived for a period of time, repaired the injured spiral ganglion cells, and thereby contributed to the recovery of sensorineural hearing loss in guinea pigs.

3D image reconstruction with controllable spatial filtering based on correlation of multiple periodic functions in computational integral imaging

We propose a novel method of slice image reconstruction with controllable spatial filtering by using the correlation of periodic delta-function arrays （PDFAs） with elemental images in computational integral imaging. The multiple PDFAs, whose spatial periods correspond to object＇s depths with the elemental image array （EIA）, can generate a set of spatially filtered EIAs for multiple object depths compared with the conventional method for the depth of a single object. We analyze a controllable spatial filtering effect by the proposed method. To show the feasibility of the proposed method, we carry out preliminary experiments for multiple objects and present the results.

Renewable energy resources are deemed a potential energy production source due to their cost efficiency and harmless reaction to the environment,unlike non-renewable energy ***,they often fail to meet energy requirements in unfavorable weather *** concept of Hybrid renewable energy resources addresses this issue by integrating both renewable and non-renewable energy resources to meet the required energy *** this paper,an intelligent cost optimization algorithm is proposed to maximize the use of renewable energy resources and minimum utilization of non-renewable energy resources to meet the energy requirement for a nanogrid *** actual data set comprising information about the load and demand of utility grids is used to evaluate the performance of the proposed nanogrid energy management *** objective function is formulated to manage the nanogrid operation and implemented using a variant of Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)named recurrent PSO(rPSO).Firstly,rPSO algorithm minimizes the installation cost for ***,the proposed NEMS ensures cost efficiency for the post-installation period by providing a daily operational plan and optimizing renewable ***-of-the-art optimization models,including Genetic Algorithm(GA),bat and different Mathematical Programming Language(AMPL)solvers,are used to evaluate the *** study’s outcomes suggest that the proposed work significantly reduces the use of diesel generators and fosters the use of renewable energy resources and beneficiates the eco-friendly environment.

SDN Based DDos Mitigating Approach Using Traffic Entropy for IoT Network

The Internet of Things(IoT)has been widely adopted in various domains including smart cities,healthcare,smart factories,*** the last few years,the fitness industry has been reshaped by the introduction of smart fitness solutions for individuals as well as fitness *** IoT fitness devices collect trainee data that is being used for various ***,it will face numerous security and privacy issues towards its *** work focuses on IoT security,especially DoS/DDoS *** this paper,we have proposed a novel blockchain-enabled protocol(BEP)that uses the notion of a self-exposing node(SEN)approach for securing fitness IoT *** blockchain and SDN architectures are employed to enhance IoT security by a highly preventive security monitoring,analysis and response *** proposed approach helps in detecting the DoS/DDoS attacks on the IoT fitness system and then mitigating the *** BEP is used for handling Blockchain-related activities and SEN could be a sensor or actuator node within the fitness IoT *** provides information about the inbound and outbound traffic to the BEP which is used to analyze the DoS/DDoS attacks on the fitness IoT *** SENcalculates the inbound and outbound traffic features’entropies and transmits them to the Blockchain in the form of transaction *** BEP picks the whole mined blocks’transactions and transfers them to the SDN controller *** controller node correlates the entropies data of SENs and decides about the DoS or DDoS ***,there are two decision points,one is SEN,and another is the *** evaluate the performance of our proposed system,several experiments are performed and results concerning the entropy values and attack detection rate are *** proposed approach has outperformed the other two approaches concerning the attack detection rate by an increase of 11%and 18%against Approach 1 and Approach 2 respectively.
