Zinc and cadmium pollutants cause a significant environmental effect that cannot be *** to their considerable amount in an aqueous environment,industries are seeking suitable adsorbents that are environmentally friendly and inexpensive for removing metals from wastewater before disposing of them in surface *** research employed original MXene(MX)and chitosan-modified MXene(CSMX)to extract zinc(Zn(Ⅱ))and cadmium(Cd(Ⅱ))metal ions from water-based *** composite material produced was analyzed using techniques such as X-ray Diffraction(XRD),Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM),Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR),and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET).The effects of contact duration,p H of the solution,and initial concentration of metal ions on the adsorption process of Zn(Ⅱ)and Cd(Ⅱ)onto both MX and CSMX composites were *** and prepared CSMX composite presented a high adsorption capacity for both studied heavy metals,which were 91.55 and 73.82 mg/g for Zn(Ⅱ)and Cd(Ⅱ)onto MX,106.84 and 93.07 mg/g for Cd(Ⅱ)and Zn(Ⅱ)onto CSMX composite,***,the maximum competitive adsorption capacities for Zn(Ⅱ)onto MX and CSMX composites are 77.29 and 93.47 mg/g,and for are Cd(Ⅱ)60.30 and 79.66 mg/g,***,the removal capacities for both single and competitive metal ions were superior to CSMX ***,the adsorption capacities after five successive regeneration sequences were only dropped by 13.2%for Zn(Ⅱ)and 17.4%for Cd(Ⅱ)onto the CSMX composite compared to the first *** results confirm that both metals could be efficiently terminated from wastewater,which makes the prepared CSMX composite a favorable candidate adsorbent in practical applications.

The process of transporting crude oil across pipelines is one of the most critical aspects of the midstream petroleum *** the present experimental work,the effect of temperature,pressure drop,and pipe diameter on the flow rate of heavy crude oil have been ***,the total discharge and energy losses have been evaluated in order to demonstrate the improvements potentially achievable by using solar heating method replacing pipe,and adjusting the value of the initial pressure *** oil of API=20 has been used for the experiments,with the studied pipelines sections connecting the separator unit to the storage tank operating at a temperature of 25℃-100℃,pressure drop of 3,4,5,and 6 kg/cm^(2),and with pipe diameter of 4,6,and 8 *** results show that on increasing the temperature and/or the pressure drop,the flow rate through the pipeline becomes higher,thus raising the total pumping energy(as the pipe diameter increase),while energy losses increase from the last separator to the storage tank in the field.A pipe diameter increase can also produce a growth of the total pumping energy(i.e.,energy losses increase).The results of the present analysis suggest that employing an optimal temperature(50℃)is needed to ensure good performance.

The greywater management by treating and reusing is an important issue to provide a new source of water that will not cost as much as using clean *** general,the water demand in the world is increasing with the increased population,thus it can lead to a water *** reduce the effect of this problem,greywater treatment system can be *** greywater in schools is gone to waste every single day,so to provide a logical,cheap and effective solution to manage this problem is to treat and reuse greywater in irrigation,since it does not necessarily need clean *** aim of this manuscript is to manage and reuse the greywater to reduce the water crises,design an economical greywater system that will act as an investment to the school,and decrease the pressure on sewage *** paper also aims to identify the wastewater characteristics generated from ***,three samples of greywater from water basins and three samples from the kitchen were collected to test and *** analysed parameters are BOD(Biochemical Oxygen Demand),COD(Chemical Oxygen Demand),pH,SO4,TDSs(Total Dissolved Solids),Cl,turbidity,Ca,Mg,nO3 and TH(Total Hardness).The results showed that,the samples collected from the basins are in the accepted range,however the samples of the kitchen have a higher concentration in SO4,BOD,turbidity and nitrate,therefore the greywater generated from the kitchen has been excluded from the greywater *** terms of the cost,the results indicated that the payback cost could be returned in three years.

In this work, nanostructured silicon dioxide films are deposited by closed-field unbalanced direct-current （DC） reactive magnetron sputterin technique on two sides of quartz cells containing rhodamine B dye dissolved in ethanol with 10-5 M concentration as a random gain medium. The preparation conditions are optimized to prepare highly pure SiO2 nanostructures with a minimum particle size of about 20nm. The effect of SiO2 films as external cavity for the random gain medium is determined by the laser-induced fluorescence of this medium, and an increase of about 200% in intensity is observed after the deposition of nanostructured SiO2 thin films on two sides of the dye cell.

In order to understand the effects of soaking time and confined water pressure on the strength of rock due to dissolution of gypsum,rock samples with 96% of gypsum content collected from Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq were *** tests were then performed on the normal gypsum rock samples under pre-saturated condition to obtain their uniaxial compressive strength(UCS) *** pre-saturated samples were submerged in distilled water for 35 d,70 d and 105 d,respectively,under confined water pressures of 0-0.5 *** gypsum content decreased by 11% after 105 d of soaking under confined water pressure of 0.5 *** UCS of the normal gypsum rock was 19.6 MPa and it decreased to 6.3 MPa and 2 MPa after 105 d of soaking under confined water pressures of 0 and 0.5 MPa,respectively.A nonlinear constitutive model was used to simulate the experimental stress-strain relationships of rock samples under various *** constitutive model parameters were sensitive to the gypsum content.

In this research,a modified fractional order proportional integral derivate(FOPID)control method is proposed for the photovoltaic(PV)and thermoelectric generator(TEG)combined hybrid renewable energy *** faster tracking and steady-state output are aimed at the suggested maximum power point tracking(MPPT)control *** derivative order number(μ)value in the improved FOPID(also known as PIλDμ)control structure will be dynamically updated utilizing the value of change in PV array voltage *** the transient,the value ofμis changeable;it’s one at the start and after reaching the maximum power point(MPP),allowing for strong tracking *** will use the freely available waste thermal energy created surrounding the PVarray for additional power generation,increasing the system’s energy conversion efficiency.A high-gain DC-DC converter circuit is included in the system to maintain a high amplitude DC input voltage to the inverter *** proposed approach’s performance was investigated using an extensive MATLAB software simulation and validated by comparing findings with the perturbation and observation(P&O)type MPPT control *** study results demonstrate that the FOPID controller-based MPPT control outperforms the P&O method in harvesting the maximum power achievable from the PV-TEG hybrid *** is also a better control action and a faster response.

Objective:To determine the antimoraxella activity of Ethiopian medicinal plants extracts. Methods:Two clinical isolates of Moraxella cattarhalis(***) with different antibiotic sensitivity pattern were tested to determine their susceptibility to garlic[Allium sativum(A. sativum)],bark of cinnamon[Cinnamomum zeylanicum(***)],clove[Syzygium aromaticum(***)],and leaves of avocado[Persea americana(***)], rosemary[Rosmarinus of ficinalis(*** ficinalis)]and prickly poppy[Argemone mexicana(A. mexicana)].Disk diffusion assay and broth dilution method were used to measure zone of inhibition,minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of plant extracts against ***:Both the strains of *** exhibited similar sensitivities to the extracts of medicinal *** activity was exhibited only by garlic,avocado leaves and *** was found to be more antagonistic to *** than cinnamon and *** and avocado leaves have shown similar MIC(30 mg/mL) where as their zone of inhibition(15 and 11 mm,respectively) were different. Conclusions:Garlic,cinnamon and avocado leaves extracts represents alternative source of natural antimicrobial substances for use in clinical practice for the treatment of cases of M. *** research on the effects of these extracts on *** can be rewarding to pursue in the search for new broad spectrum antimicrobial agents.
