Hydrological analyses are often encountered with many missing periods of rainfall while designing developmental action plans for inaccessible and disadvantageous area. Visual basic based application software (to run in MS Excel) was developed to calculate and autofilled the missing rainfall data using widely followed Normal Ratio Method. The operational details of the software are described in the paper.

In this article, we discuss three difference schemes;for the numerical solution of singularity perturbed 1-D parabolic equations with singular coefficients using spline in compression. The proposed methods are of accurate and applicable to problems in both cases singular and non-singular. Stability theory of a proposed method has been discussed and numerical examples have been given in support of the theoretical results.

Devices participating in mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are expected to strictly adhere to a uniform routing protocol to route data packets among themselves. Unfortunately, MANET devices, composed of untrustworthy software and hardware components, expose a large attack surface. This can be exploited by attackers to gain control over one or more devices, and wreak havoc on the MANET subnet. The approach presented in this paper to secure MANETs restricts the attack surface to a?single module?in MANET devices a trusted MANET module (TMM). TMMs are deliberately constrained to demand only modest memory and computational resources in the interest of further reducing the attack surface. The specific contribution of this paper is a precise characterization of simple TMM functionality suitable for any distance vector based routing protocol, to realize the broad assurance that “any node that fails to abide by the routing protocol will not be able to participate in the MANET”.

This paper presented a simple model calculation of photofield emission current (PFEC) from tungsten. For evaluation of the matrix element, Kronig-Penney potential model for the crystal is used for deducing the required wavefunctions. The present paper discusses the modeling of tool geometry effects on the friction stir aluminum welds using response surface methodology. The friction stir welding tools were designed with different shoulder and tool probe geometries based on a design matrix. The matrix for the tool designing was made for three types of tools, based on three types of probes, with three levels each for defining the shoulder surface type and probe profile geometries. Then, the effects of tool shoulder and probe geometries on friction stirred aluminum welds were experimentally investigated with respect to weld strength, weld cross section area, grain size of weld and grain size of thermo-mechanically affected zone. These effects were modeled using multiple and response surface regression analysis. The response surface regression modeling were found to be appropriate for defining the friction stir weldment characteristics.

Purpose:The human-wildlife conflicts(HWCs)causing nuisances and injuries are becoming a growing public health concern over recent years *** aimed to study the demographic profile,mode of injury,pattern of injury,and outcome of wild animal attack victims presented to the emergency ***:This retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted in the emergency department of a tertiary-care hospital in Eastern *** were retrieved from the medical records from May 2017 to May *** of all ages and genders attacked by wild animals and secondary injuries were included in this *** with incomplete data,injuries due to the attack of stray and domestic animals and trauma due to other causes were *** profile,mode of injury,the pattern of injury,injury severity score(ISS),radiological pattern,and outcome were *** analysis with R(version 3.6.1.)was ***:A total of 411 wild animal attack victims were studied,of which 374(90.9%)were snakebite injuries and 37(9.1%)were wild mammalian(WM)attack *** mean age of WM attack victims was 46 years,and the male-to-female ratio was 4:*** attack injury(40.5%)was the most common WM attack injury *** WM attacks(43.2%)occurred between 4:00 *** 8:00 *** median ISS was 18.5(13-28),where 54.2%of patients had polytrauma(ISS>15).Elephant attack was associated with a higher ISS,but the difference was not significant compared to other animal types(p=0.2).Blunt trauma was common pattern of injury in the elephant attack injury *** and soft tissue injuries were common patterns in other animal *** snakebites,neurotoxic was the most common type(55.4%),and lower extremity was the most common site ***:The young male population is the major victim of HWCs;and elephant is the most common animal *** is a need to design scientifically sound preventive strategies for HWCs and to strengthen t
