Objective:The objective of the study was to identify musculoskeletal problems(MSPs)among nursing *** and Methods:A nonexperimental research design was *** hundred and seventy nursing officers were selected by purposive sampling *** standardized Nordic questionnaire was used to assess the MSPs and self-structured three-point rating scale was used to assess expressed practice of body mechanics of nursing ***:The study findings revealed that 64.4% of nursing officers suffered from MSP such as ache,pain,and discomfort during the past 12 months and 43.7% during the past 7 *** problem in the low back and the neck were highest 45.1% and 22.2%,*** was followed by MSP of the upper back(14.0%),ankles(13.7%),knees(10.7%),shoulder(10.3%),hip/thighs(5.9%),wrists(4.4%),and elbows(3.3%).Around 49.2%complained that MSPs limit their *** was significant association of MSP with selected personal variables like body mass index(P=0.001)and family history(P=0.02).There were also significant association of expressed practices of body mechanics with gender(P=0.01),area of current work(P=0.00),professional experience(P=0.03)and physical activity(P=0.00).Conclusion:The study indicates the large number of nursing officers had MSPs with the two most common sites being the lower back and the *** creates a need for prompt hospital education programs aimed to create awareness among nursing officers on the prevalence of MSPs.

Diabetes Treatment-Related Myths and the Impact of COVID-19 on Diabetes Knowledge—An Indian Survey-Based Study

Objective: The main aim of the survey was to assess diabetes treatment-related myths prevalent in the Indian population and if COVID-19 pandemic improved their knowledge about diabetes. Results: The survey was completed by 309 participants;66% did not have diabetes. The responses of people with diabetes and those without diabetes were similar. Survey results of the total population showed that the majority believed that diabetes treatment should start early (92.6%);87.4% believed that the treatment should start within three months of diagnosis with modern medicines;67.3% of the participants felt that allopathic medicines for diabetes were safe, 69.6% believed that if started these medications continue lifelong, and 40.5% thought they damaged all major organs. Insulin was thought to be safe by 65% of the surveyed population;60.8% believed that if they started insulin, they would need it life-long;51.5% thought that insulin was started at the last stage of diabetes;and 58.6% believed that insulin caused kidney damage. A total of 58.6% believed that herbal medicines for diabetes were safer than allopathic;76.4% did not believe that the “diabetic cure” shown through television/newspapers was safe and effective;67.3% did not believe that ayurvedic medicines cured diabetes. Of the surveyed population, 67% felt that their knowledge about diabetes improved during the pandemic and 89.3% knew that PWDs have more serious problems with covid infection. Conclusions: Our survey shows that many diabetes treatment-related myths are prevalent in the Indian population even though the COVID-19 pandemic improved their knowledge about diabetes.

One of the aims in survey sampling is to search for the estimators with highest efficiency. In the present paper, three improved estimators of population mean have been proposed using some non-traditional measures of dispersion of auxiliary variable such as Gini’s mean difference, Downton’s method and probability weighted moments early given by Abid [1] with a special population parameter of auxiliary variable. The large sample properties that are biased and mean squared errors of the proposed estimators have been derived up to the first order of approximation. A theoretical comparison of the proposed estimators has been made with the other existing estimators of population mean using auxiliary information. The conditions under which the proposed estimators perform better than the other existing estimators of population mean have been given. A numerical study is also carried out to see the performances of the proposed and existing estimators of population mean and verify the conditions under which proposed estimators are better than other estimators. It has been shown that the proposed estimators perform better than the existing estimators as they are having lesser mean squared error.

Objective: Non-hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) refers to a group of malignant neoplasms that arise from cellular elements of lymphoid or extranodal tissue. Lymphomas are a frequent cause of malignant lymphadenopathy in the head &neck. The head &neck is the second must frequent anatomical site of extranodal lymphomas after gastrointestinal tract. That’s why dental & maxillofacial surgeon should be aware of malignant lymphoma to diagnose properly & efficiently. This study was performed to evaluate oral & maxillofacial region manifestations, staging, grading and prognosis of NHL.Materials & Method: A retrospective analysis or review of 25patients with oral &maxillofacial region lymphoma was made in our hospital (Dalian Medical University, Stomatology Department of First Affiliated hospital) from 2002jan to 2006 august .Specifically, clinical presentation, staging, grading & therapy for NHL with oral &maxillofacial region involvement were sought. Staging was done according to the Ann Arbor staging system and diagnosis made by immunohistochemistry.Result: 25 patients of NHL were included in our study, among them 20(80%) patients with extra nodal (eNHL) &5(20%) patients with nodal (NHL) involvement. The incidence rate increases exponentially with age between 24 and 79 years. The median age at the diagnosis of the patients was *** above 50 years were 72%.Male (60%) is slightly more than female (40%). Among 20 patients, NHL of Waldeyer’s ring was the most frequent site occurring in 10 patients (50%) followed by NHL of oral cavity (20%), of salivary glands (30%). Constitutional B symptomatology was uncommon, occurring in 25% patients. The typical clinical appearance is a painless local mass lateral or bilateral (90%) and confused with squamous cell carcinoma. Single-phase pristine and cation-substituted calcium manganite（Ca1-xBixMn1-yVyO3-δ） polycrystalline samples were synthesized by the solid state reaction technique. Their thermoelectric properties were measured by a set up that was designed and assembled in the laboratory. The Ca1-x BixMn1-yVyO3-δsample with x = y = 0.04 has shown a power factor（S^2σ） of 176 μW/m/K^2 at 423 K, which is nearly two orders of magnitude higher than that of the pristine sample（2.1 μW/m/K2）. The power factor of the substituted oxide remains almost temperature independent as the Seebeck coefficient increases monotonically with temperature, along with the simultaneous decrease in electrical resistivity which is attributed to enhanced electron density due to co-doping of bismuth and vanadium and grain boundary scattering. These cation-substituted calcium manganites can be used as a potential candidate for an n-type leg in a thermoelectric generator（module）.

Magnesium is one of the largely available elements in the earth’s crust. It has a low structural density with high specific strength. This unique material property has forced an increase in the use of magnesium and its alloys in various applications pertaining to industrial sector,automobiles, aerospace and biomedical. Since magnesium is a highly reactive metal, it is prone to higher rate of corrosion as compared to its counterparts. Thus, it is essential to analyze the corrosion behavior of magnesium and its alloys in its applications. An appropriate process is to be followed in the design and development of magnesium alloys which overcome the limitations of magnesium and enhance the desired material properties in accordance to their applications. This review paper summarizes the importance of magnesium and its material properties. The influence of various alloying elements on the mechanical properties of magnesium is reviewed. The broad classification of Mg alloys and their behavioral trends are detailed. The corrosion behavior of magnesium and the influence of corrosion products on the material characteristics of magnesium, in aqueous medium, are discussed. The manufacturing techniques of magnesium alloys along with the secondary techniques are also covered. The various applications and the limitations of magnesium in these applications are covered. A complete section is dedicated towards detailing the recent trends of magnesium(Mg) alloys, i.e., the biodegradable nature and applications of Mg alloys. The influence of biocorrosion on Mg alloys and techniques to overcome it have been deliberated. This paper provides a thorough review on recent developments of magnesium with respect to engineering applications.

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular outcome trials have demonstrated cardiovascular safety of glimepiride(a sulfonylureas) against dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor ***(another newer sulfonylureas) has shown similar glycemic efficacy and 50% decreased risk of hypoglycemia compared to *** Considering the absence of cardiovascular outcome trials for gliclazide, we decided to conduct a systematic review of the literature to assess the cardiovascular(CV) safety by assessing the risk for major adverse CV events and hypoglycemia risk of gliclazide vs linagliptin in patients with type 2 diabetes(T2D).METHODS This systematic review followed the current Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines to analyze all the clinical studies published from 2008 that compared the two drugs in patients with T2D with no risk of CV disease(CVD). We included only evidence designated high quality by the Oxford Center for Evidence-based Medicine-Levels of *** Eight clinical studies were included in the narrative descriptive analysis(gliclazide: 5 and linagliptin: 3). The CV safety of gliclazide in the Action in Diabetes and Vascular Disease: Preterax and Diamicron Modified Release Controlled Evaluation trial and of linagliptin in the Cardiovascular and Renal Microvascular Outcome Study With Linagliptin(CARMELINA) and CARdiovascular Outcome study of LINAgliptin vs glimepiride in patients with T2D(CAROLINA)trials were excluded from the comparative analysis as these trials demonstrated CV and hypoglycemia benefits in patients at high risk of CVD. However, since these are landmark trials,they were discussed in brief to show the CV benefits and low hypoglycemia risk of gliclazide and linagliptin. We did not find any study comparing gliclazide with linagliptin. Objective:To analyze the larvicidal activity of two plant leaf powder and leaf-extracts, Dregea volubilis and Bombax malabaricum against Culex ***:The larvicidal bioassay was done for powdered leaves of Dregea volubilis and Bombax malabaricum individually and their methanol extracts against first-,second-,third- and fourth-instar larval forms of Culex *** rate was recorded after 24,48 and 72 h of postexposure. LC50 and LG90 values were calculated at different time intervals for third instar larvae. Results:All the graded concentration（0.1%,0.2%,0.3%,0.4%,0.5%） of powdered leaves showed significant（P 50 values were 56.97 ppm and 48.85 ppm,respectively after 24 h of *** is no mortality of non-target organism such as Chironomous circumdatus,Oreochromis niloticus niloticus and Diplonichus annulatum within 72 h of post exposure to 0.1%,0.2%,0.3%crude powdered leaves and methanolic extracts of both the two individual plants under the laboratory *** results of preliminary qualitative phytochemical analysis of both the plants revealed the presence of many bioactive principles such as steroids,tannins,flavonoids,triterpenoids,saponins,etc. that may be responsible for their bio-control ***:The results have shown potential and eco-friendly use of both plant extracts against larva of Culex quinquefasciatus for the first time.

Identification,synthesis and characterization of an unknown process related impurity in eslicarbazepine acetate active pharmaceutical ingredient by LC/ESI-IT/MS,~1H,^(13)C and ~1H-~1H COSY NMR

A new impurity was detected during high performance liquid chromatographic （HPLC） analysis of eslicarbazepine acetate active pharmaceutical ingredient. The structure of unknown impurity was postulated based on liquid chromatography mass spectrometry using electrospray ionization and ion trap analyzer （LC/ESI-IT/MS） analysis. Proposed structure of impurity was unambiguously confirmed by synthesis followed by characterization using 1H, 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry （NMR）, 1H-1H correlation spectro-scopy （COSY） and infrared spectroscopy （IR）. Based on the spectroscopic and spectrometric data, unknown impurity was characterized as 5-carbamoyl-10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[b,f]azepin-10-yl propionate.
