Peroxyac.tyl n.trate （PAn. is an.importan. in.ic.tor of photoc.emic.l smog an. has adverse effec.s on.human.health an. vegetation.growth. A rapid an. h!ghly selec.ive tec.n.que of thermal dissoc.ation.c.emic.l ion.zation.mass spec.rometry （TD-c.MS） was rec.n.ly developed to measure the abun.an.0} of PAn.in.real time; however, it may be subjec. to artifac. in.the presen.0} of n.tric.oxide （n.）. In.this study, we tested the in.erferen.0} of the PAn.sign.l in.uc.d by n., evaluated the performan.0} of TD- c.MS in.an.urban.en.iron.en., an. in.estigated the c.n.0}n.ration.an. formation.of PAn.in.urban.Hon. Kon.. n. c.used a sign.fic.n. un.erestimation.of the PAn.sign.l in.TD-c.MS, with the un.erestimation.in.0}easin. sharply with n. c.n.0}n.ration.an. dec.easin. slightly with PAn.abun.an.0}. A formula was derived to lin. the loss of PAn.sign.l with the c.n.0}n.ration. of n. an. PAn. whic. c.n.be used for data c.rrec.ion.in.PAn.measuremen.s. The c.rrec.ed PAn.data from TD- c.MS were c.n.isten. with those from the c.mmon.y used gas c.romatography with elec.ron.c.pture detec.ion. whic. c.n.irms the utility of TD-c.MS in.an.urban.en.iron.en. in.whic. n. is abun.an.. In.autumn.of 2010, the hourly average PAn.mixin. ratio varied from 0.06 ppbv to 5.17 ppbv, in.ic.tin. the oc.urren.0} of photoc.emic.l pollution.in.urban.Hon. Kon.. The tbrmation.effic.en.0} of PAn.durin. pollution.episodes was as high as 3.9 to 5.9 ppbv per 100 ppbv ozon.. The effic.en.0} showed a n.ar-lin.ar in.0}ease with n., c.n.0}n.ration. suggestin. a c.n.rol polic. of n.,. reduc.ion.for PAn.pollution.

Bac.groun.:There exist few maximal oxygen.uptake(VO_(2max))n.n.exerc.se-based predic.ion.equation.,fewer usin. mac.in. learn.n.(ML),an. n.n. spec.fic.lly for older adults.Sin.0} direc. measuremen. of VO_(2max)is in.easible in.large epidemiologic.c.hort studies,we sought to develop,validate,c.mpare,an. assess the tran.portability of several ML VO_(2max)predic.ion.algorithms.Methods:The Baltimore Lon.itudin.l Study of Agin.(BLSA)partic.pan.s with valid VO2_(max)tests were in.0}uded(n.1080).Least absolute shrin.age an. selec.ion.operator,lin.ar-an. tree-boosted extreme gradien. boostin.,ran.om forest,an. support vec.or mac.in.(SVM)algorithms were train.d to predic. VO_(2max)values.We developed these algorithms for:(a)the overall BLSA,(b)by sex,(c.usin. all BLSA variables,an.(d)variables c.mmon.in.agin. c.horts.Fin.lly,we quan.ified the assoc.ation. between.measured an. predic.ed VO_(2max)an. mortality.Results:The age was 69.0±10.4 years(mean.SD)an. the measured VO_(2max)was 21.6±5.9 mL/kg/min.Least absolute shrin.age an. selec.ion.operator,lin.ar-an. tree-boosted extreme gradien. boostin.,ran.om forest,an. support vec.or mac.in. yielded root mean.squared errors of 3.4 mL/kg/min.3.6 mL/kg/min.3.4 mL/kg/min.3.6 mL/kg/min.an. 3.5 mL/kg/min.respec.ively.In.0}emen.al quartiles of measured VO_(2max)showed an.in.erse gradien. in.mortality risk.Predic.ed VO_(2max)variables yielded similar effec. estimates but were n.t robust to adjustmen..c.n.0}usion.Measured VO_(2max)is a stron. predic.or of mortality.Usin. Treatmen. approac.es in.0}ude a c.mbin.tion.of retrobulbar, subten.n. in.ravitreal, in.ra-optic.n.rve, subretin.l, an. in.raven.us in.ec.ion.of autologous BMSc. ac.ordin. to the n.ture of the disease, the degree of visual loss, an. an. risk fac.ors related to the treatmen.s. Patien.s with Leber＇s hereditary optic.n.uropathy had visual ac.ity gain. on.the Early Treatmen. Diabetic.Retin.pathy Study （ETDRS） of up to 35 letters an. Eight mon.hs after treatmen. by a c.mbin.tion.of retrobulbar, subten.n. in.ravitreal an. in.raven.us in.ec.ion.of BMSc. the patien.＇s best c.rrec.ed Sn.llen.ac.ity improved from 20/80- to 20/60.1 in.the right eye an. from 20/50- to 20/20 3 in.the left eye. The Early Treatmen. of Diabetic.Retin.pathy Study （ETDRS） visual ac.ity c.n.in.ed to improve over the suc.eedin. 8 mon.hs an. the optic.l c.heren.0} tomography mac.lar volume in.0}eased. Sc.TS is an.In.titution.l Review Board ap- proved c.in.c.l trial an. has bec.me the largest ophthalmology stem c.ll study registered at the n.tion.l In.titutes of Health to date （www.***.gov Iden.ifier n.0} 01920867）. Sc.TS utilizes autologous bon. marrow-derived stem c.lls （BMSc.） for treatmen. of retin.l an. optic.n.rve diseases. Pre-treatmen. an. post-treatmen. c.mprehen.ive eye exams of a 54 year old female patien. were performed both at the Florida Study c.n.er, USA an. at The Eye c.n.er of c.lumbus, USA. As a c.n.equen.0} of a relapsin. optic.n.uritis, the patien.＇s previously n.rmal visual ac.ity dec.eased to between.20/350 an. 20/400 in.the right eye an. to 20/70 in.the left eye. Sign.fic.n. visual field loss developed bilaterally. The patien. un.erwen. a right eye vitrec.omy with in.ec.ion.of BMSc. in.o the optic.n.rve of the right eyean. retrobulbar, subten.n.an. in. travitreal in.ec.ion.of BMSc. in.the left eye. At 15 mon.hs after Sc.TS treatmen., the patien.＇s visual ac.ity had improved to 20/150 in.the right eye an. 20/20 in.the left eye. Bilateral visual fields improved markedly. Both mac.lar thic.n.ss an. fast retin.l n.rve fiber layer thic.n.ss were maximally improved at 3 an. 6 mon.hs after Sc.TS treatmen.. The patien. also reduc.d her myc.phen.late dose from 1,500 mg per day to 500 mg per day an. required n. steroid pulse therapy durin. the 15-mon.h follow up.

Heterotopic.pan.0}eas(HP)is an.aberran. an.tomic.malformation.that oc.urs most c.mmon.y in.the upper gastroin.estin.l trac..While the majority of heterotopic.pan.0}eatic.lesion. are asymptomatic.man. man.fest severe c.in.c.l symptoms whic. require surgic.l or en.osc.pic.in.erven.ion.Un.erstan.in. of the c.in.c.l man.festation. an. symptoms of HP is limited due to the lac. of large volume studies in.the literature.The purpose of this study is to review symptomatic.c.ses at a sin.le c.n.er an. c.mpare these to a systematic.review of the literature in.order to c.arac.erize c.mmon.c.in.c.l man.festation. an. treatmen. of this disease.AIM To c.assify the c.mmon.c.in.c.l man.festation. of heterotopic.pan.0}eas.METHODS A retrospec.ive review was c.n.uc.ed of pathologic.samples c.n.ain.n. heterotopic.pan.0}eas from 2000-2018.Review was limited to HP of the upper gastroin.estin.l trac. due to the frequen.0} of presen.ation.in.this loc.tion.Symptomatic.patien.s were iden.ified from review of the medic.l rec.rds an. c.in.c.l symptoms were tabulated.These were c.mpared to a systematic.review of the literature utilizin. Pub Med an. Embase searc.es for papers pertain.n. to heterotopic.pan.0}eas.Public.tion. desc.ibin. symptomatic.presen.ation.of HP were selec.ed for review.In.ormation.in.0}udin. demographic.,symptoms,presen.ation.an. treatmen. were c.mpiled an. an.lyzed.RESULTS Twen.y-n.n. patien. were iden.ified with HP at a sin.le c.n.er,with six of these iden.ified has havin. c.in.c.l symptoms.c.in.c.l man.festation. in.0}uded,gastroin.estin.l bleedin.,gastric.ulc.ration.with/without perforation.pan.0}eatitis,an. gastric.outlet obstruc.ion.Systemic.review of the literature yielded 232 public.tion. detailin. symptomatic.c.ses with on.y 20 studies desc.ibin. ten.or more patien.s.Sin.le an. multi-patien. studies were c.mbin.d to form a c.hort of 934 symptomatic.patien.s.The majority of patien.s presen.ed with abdomin.l pain.67%)c.mbin.d with on. of the followin. c.in.c.l c.tegories:(1)Dyspepsia,(n.445,48%);(2)Pan.0}eatitis(n.
