BACKGROUND Depression and anxiety were both ranked among the top 25 leading causes of global burden of diseases in 2019 prior to the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)*** pandemic affected,and in many cases threatened,the health and lives of millions of people across the globe and within the first year,global prevalence of anxiety and depression increased by 25%with the greatest influx in places highly affected by *** To explore the psychological impact of the pandemic and resultant restrictions in different countries using an opportunistic sample and online questionnaire in different phases of the *** A repeated,cross-sectional online international survey of adults,16 years and above,was carried out in 10 countries(United Kingdom,India,Canada,Bangladesh,Ukraine,hong Kong,Pakistan,Egypt,Bahrain,Saudi Arabia).The online questionnaire was based on published approaches to understand the psychological impact of COVID-19 and the resultant *** standardised measures were included to explore levels of depression[patient health questionnaire(PHQ-9)],anxiety[generalized anxiety disorder(GAD)assessment],impact of trauma[the impact of events scale-revised(IES-R)],loneliness(a brief loneliness scale),and social support(The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social support).RESULTS There were two rounds of the online survey in 10 countries with 42866 participants in Round 1 and 92260 in Round *** largest number of participants recruited from the United Kingdom(112985 overall).The majority of participants reported receiving no support from mental health services throughout the *** study found that the daily cumulative COVID-19 cases had a statistically significant effect on PHQ-9,GAD-7,and IES-R *** scores significantly increased in the second round of surveys with the ordinary least squares regression results with regression discontinuity design specification(to control lockdown effects)confirming these ***

Within-Cluster Variability Exponent for Identifying Coherent Structures in Dynamical Systems

We propose a clustering-based approach for identifying coherent flow structuresin continuous dynamical systems. We first treat a particle trajectory over a finitetime interval as a high-dimensional data point and then cluster these data from differentinitial locations into groups. The method then uses the normalized standarddeviation or mean absolute deviation to quantify the deformation. Unlike the usualfinite-time Lyapunov exponent (FTLE), the proposed algorithm considers the completetraveling history of the particles. We also suggest two extensions of the method. To improvethe computational efficiency, we develop an adaptive approach that constructsdifferent subsamples of the whole particle trajectory based on a finite time interval. Tostart the computation in parallel to the flow trajectory data collection, we also developan on-the-fly approach to improve the solution as we continue to provide more measurementsfor the algorithm. The method can efficiently compute the WCVE over adifferent time interval by modifying the available data points.

On Effective Campus Attack Response:Insights from Agent-Based Simulation for Improving Emergency Information Sharing System Design and Response Strategy

Information sharing systems are a critical component of emergency response—especially in campus attack situations that unfold very *** design of effective information sharing systems is often difficult,however,due to a lack of data on these assault *** work takes an agent-based approach to simulate three campus emergency information sharing system design alternatives in the context of a college campus knife attack,and incorporates data from on-campus student surveys and parameter tuning *** are evaluated according to:(1)improved student attack response outcomes;and(2)effective institutional response to the *** results confirm that increased awareness supports rapid emergency reporting,but an important gap exists between students'awareness and their ability to respond effectively,which depends on a number of campus-specific factors.A strong positive impact is seen from safe and efficient information sharing with *** impact depends largely on reporting system implementation qualities,as opposed to campus-specific *** a campus in China,WeChat was used as a basis for messaging *** simulation results show a 9%drop in casualties and a 22%faster police response time from a text-based reporting system using‘‘base''WeChat features instead of traditional phone *** results also project a 30%drop in casualties and 52%faster police response time using a system designed around a WeChat Mini Program or standalone campus emergency reporting *** outcomes suggest a number of recommendations for improving outdated campus emergency information-sharing systems and response strategies.

Apparently balanced chromosomal structural rearrangements are known to cause male infertility and account for approximately 1%of azoospermia or severe ***,the underlying mechanisms of pathogenesis and etiologies are still largely ***,we investigated apparently balanced interchromosomal structural rearrangements in six cases with azoospermia/severe oligospermia to comprehensively identify and delineate cryptic structural rearrangements and the related copy number *** addition,high read-depth genome sequencing(GS)(30-fold)was performed to investigate point mutations causative of male ***-pair GS(4-fold)revealed additional structural rearrangements and/or copy number changes in 5 of 6 cases and detected a total of 48 ***,the breakpoints caused truncations of 30 RefSeq genes,five of which were associated with ***,the breakpoints disrupted 43 topological-associated *** disruptions or potential dysregulations of genes,which play potential roles in male germ cell development,apoptosis,and spermatogenesis,were found in all cases(n=6).In addition,high read-depth GS detected dual molecular findings in case MI6,involving a complex rearrangement and two point mutations in the gene ***,our study provided the molecular characteristics of apparently balanced interchromosomal structural rearrangements in patients with male *** demonstrated the complexity of chromosomal structural rearrangements,potential gene disruptions/dysregulation and single-gene mutations could be the contributing mechanisms underlie male infertility.

Life skill-based training is essential for intellectual disabled individuals to regain autonomy and social *** reality(VR)could deliver a nascent application that is more engaging and *** objective of this study was to evaluate the training effects of the VR-based multiple life skill training program on life skill perfor-mance,self-efficacy,memory,cognitive and behavioral functions via a multicenter randomized controlled trial.A total of 145 intellectual disabled participants were recruited for a randomized controlled trial with three in-tervention arms:VR(n=42);traditional(n=53);and control(n=50).The life skill tasks for the interventions included 1)grocery shopping,2)cooking,and 3)kitchen *** measures were performance scores for the three tasks,self-efficacy scale,digit span score,and Frontal Assessment Battery score,graded by blinded ***-after effects of each group were evaluated using separated Wilcoxon Signed-rank *** sig-nificantly improved cooking,cleaning performance,and memory span,while traditional training significantly improved shopping,cooking,and cleaning *** generalized estimating equation evaluated effects between groups adjusted for age,gender and intelligence quotient(IQ).VR had significantly larger improvement effects in cooking and cleaning than the control group and memory span compared to traditional training and controls *** appeared to be a significant confounder on the training *** work may consider developing artificial intelligence to customize programs depending on IQ level.

Sleep posture monitoring is an essential assessment for obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)*** objective of this study is to develop a machine learning-based sleep posture recognition system using a dual ultra-wideband radar *** collected radiofrequency data from two radars positioned over and at the side of the bed for 16 patients performing four sleep postures(supine,left and right lateral,and prone).We proposed and evaluated deep learning approaches that streamlined feature extraction and classification,and the traditional machine learning approaches that involved different combinations of feature extractors and *** results showed that the dual radar system performed better than either single *** statistical features with random forest classifier yielded the best accuracy(0.887),which could be further improved via an ablation study(0.938).Deep learning approach using transformer yielded accuracy of 0.713.

Ridge-furrow plastic mulching with a suitable planting density enhances rainwater productivity,grain yield and economic benefit of rainfed maize

Soil surface mulching and planting density regulation are widely used for effective utilization of limited rainwater resources and improvement of crop productivity in dryland ***,the combined effects of mulching type and planting density on maize growth and yield have been seldom studied,especially in different hydrological years.A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of mulching type and planting density on the soil temperature,growth,grain yield(GY),water use efficiency(WUE)and economic benefit of rainfed maize in the drylands of northern China during *** fluctuated over the three *** were four mulching types(NM,flat cultivation with non-mulching;SM,flat cultivation with straw mulching;RP,plastic-mulched ridge plus bare furrow;RPFS,plastic-mulched ridge plus straw-mulched furrow)and three planting densities(LD,low planting density,45.0×10^3 plants/hm^2;MD,medium planting density,67.5×10^3 plants/hm^2;HD,high planting density,90.0×10^3 plants/hm^2).Results showed that soil temperature was higher with RP and lower with SM compared with NM,but no significant difference was found between RPFS and *** soil water was retained by soil mulching at the early growth stage,but it significantly varied at the middle and late growth *** growth was significantly improved by soil *** increasing planting density,stem diameter,net photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll content tended to decline,whereas a single-peak trend in biomass yield was *** type and planting density did not have significant effect on evapotranspiration(ET),but GY and WUE were significantly *** were significant interacting effects of mulching type and planting density on biomass yield,GY,ET and *** with NM,RPFS,RP and SM increased GY by 57.5%,50.8%and 18.9%,and increased WUE by 66.6%,54.3%and 18.1%,*** MD,GY increased by 41.4%and 25.2%,and WUE increased by 38.6%and 22.4%compared with thos

当前,整体市场和商务的大环境都处于持续变化的阶段,对于企业而言,只有加强内部管理方可实现健康稳定的发展。然而,我国企业的现状是,内部管理整体来看较为薄弱,其中部分企业的内部控制还处于探索阶段。从制度方面来看,内部控制度缺少必要的流程图和配套表格,大部分为简单的文字描述,这种背景下,员工无法在短时间内对企业内部控制制度做出相对准确的了解。对于企业而言,完善的销售业务内部控制制度不仅有助于企业经营效益和利润能力的提升,还有助于销售风险的降低,意义非凡。就现代企业而言,内部控制不仅可以预防财务舞弊,又有助于经营管理的完善,除此之外,还能够为企业发展遮风挡雨。内部管控机制的实施的基础是高效的内部控制评价,内部管控基于此评价方法来持续发挥作用。因为,内管管控评价方法是否合理,导致内控评价直接影响。现阶段应用范围交广的方法是模糊评价法,无论是多因素同时影响,还是模糊性和定性判断等问题都可以使用这种评价方法。通过观察S教育培训机构可以得知,其销售业务环节的内部控制情况能够严重的影响整个公司的资金流以及后续的持续经营活动,所以本研究以S教育培训机构销售业务作为研究对象,借助于模糊评价法分析评价其销售业务内部控制开展情况,发现存在的问题和不足,提出相应的改变办法,以此来实现销售业务内部控制执行力的提升。本研究针对S教育培训机构内部管理的真实情况进行研究分析,查摆存在的主要问题,然后利用AHP法和模糊评价法综合评价该公司销售业务内部控制情况,基于发现的问题,有针对性的提出行之有效的解决办法,进一步优化该公司的内部控制体系,从而实现企业市场竞争力的提升。除此之外,也希望本文的研究结果能够为我国其他中小企业优化和完善内部控制体系的时候提供一定的参考。

Exploratory use of ultrasound to determine whether demyelination following carpal tunnel syndrome co-exists with axonal degeneration

Carpal tunnel syndrome （CTS） accompanied by secondary axonal degeneration cannot be clearly dis- criminated using the current cross-validated ultrasound severity classification system. This study aimed at exploring cut-off values of ultrasound parameters, including wrist cross-sectional area （W-CSA）, wrist perimeter （W-P）, ratio of cross-sectional area （R-CSA） and perimeter （R-P）, changes of CSA and P from wrist to one third distal forearm （△CSA＆AP） for differentiation. Seventy-three patients （13 male and 60 female） were assigned into group A （demyelination only, n = 40） and group B （demyelination with secondary axonal degeneration, n = 33） based on the outcomes of nerve conduction studies （NCS）. Receiver Operative Characteristics （ROC） curves were plotted to obtain sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of cut- off values for all the ultrasound parameters. The overall identified cut-off values （W-CSA 12.0 mm2, W-P 16.27 mm, R-CSA 1.85, R-P 1.48, △CSA 6.98 mm2, △P 5.77 mm） had good sensitivity （77.1-88.6%）, fair specificity （40-62.2%） and fair-to-good accuracy （0.676-0.758）. There were also significant differences in demographics （age and severity gradation, P 〈 0.001）, NCS findings （wrist motor latency and conduction velocity, P 〈 0.0001; wrist motor amplitude, P 〈 0.05; distal sensory latency, P 〈 0.05; sensory amplitude, P 〈 0.001） and ultrasound measurements （W-CSA, W-P, R-CSA, R-P, △CSA＆△P, P 〈 0.05） between groups. These findings suggest that ultrasound can be potentially used to differentiate demyelinating CTS with sec- ondary axonal degeneration and provide better treatment guidance.
