A low redox potential and long life organic anode material for sodium-ion batteries

Sodium-ion batteries （SIBs） with organic electrodes are an emerging research direction due to the sustainability of organic materials based on elements like c,H,O,and sodium ***,organic electrode materials for SIBs are mainly used as cathodes because of their relatively high redox potentials（>1 V）.Organic electrodes with low redox potential that can be used as anode are ***,a novel organic anode material （tetrasodium 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylate,Na4TDc） has been developed with low redox potential （cellent cyclic *** three-sodium storage mechanism was demonstrated with various in-situ/ex-situ spectroscopy and theoretical calculations,showing a high capacity of 208 mAh/g and an average decay rate of merely 0.022%per ***,the Na4TDc-hard carbon composite can further acquire improved capacity and cycling stability for 1200 cycles even with a high mass loading of up to 20 mg *** pairing with a thick Na3V2（PO4）3cathode (20.6 mg cm-2),the as-fabricated full cell exhibited high operating voltage （2.8 V）,excellent rate performance and cycling stability with a high capacity retention of 88.7% after 200 cycles,well highlighting the Na4TDc anode material for SIBs.

Mosquitoes are exceptional in their ability to pierce into human skin with a natural ultimate painless microneedle, named fascicle. Here the structure of the Aedes albopictus mosquito fascicle is obtained using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and the whole process of the fascicle inserting into human skin is observed using a high-speed video imaging technique. Direct measurements of the insertion force for mosquito fascicle to penetrate into human skin are reported. Results show that the mosquito uses a very low force (average 18 μN) to penetrate into the skin. This force is at least three orders of magnitude smaller than the reported lowest insertion force for an artificial microneedle with an ultra sharp tip to insert into the human skin. In order to understand the piercing mechanism of mosquito fascicle tip into human multilayer skin tissue, a numerical simulation is conducted to analyze the insertion process using a nonlinear finite element method. A good agreement occurs between the numerical results and the experimental measurements.

Hydrogel scaffolds have numerous potential applications in the tissue engineering ***,tough hydrogel scaffolds implanted in vivo are seldom reported because it is difficult to balance biocompatibility and high mechanical *** by chinese ramen,we propose a universal fabricating method(printing-P,training-T,cross-linking-c,PTc&PcT)for tough hydrogel scaffolds to fill this ***,3D printing fabricates a hydrogel scaffold with desired structures(P).Then,the scaffold could have extraordinarily high mechanical properties and functional surface structure by cycle mechanical training with salting-out assistance(T).Finally,the training results are fixed by photo-cross-linking processing(c).The tough gelatin hydrogel scaffolds exhibit excellent tensile strength of 6.66 MPa(622-fold untreated)and have excellent ***,this scaffold possesses functional surface structures from nanometer to micron to millimeter,which can efficiently induce directional cell ***,this strategy can produce bionic human tissue with mechanical properties of 10 kPa-10 MPa by changing the type of salt,and many hydrogels,such as gelatin and silk,could be improved with PTc or PcT *** experiments show that this scaffold can effectively promote the new generation of muscle fibers,blood vessels,and nerves within 4 weeks,prompting the rapid regeneration of large-volume muscle loss injuries.

circularly polarized luminescence （cPL） materials have been extensively studied in recent years owing to their widespread applications in 3D display,optical storage,optical anti-counterfeiting,and biological imaging,***（I） clusters have emerged as a promising candidate for cPL materials,driven by their cost-effectiveness,superior luminescent properties,precise structure,and low ***,the poor environmental stability of copper（I） clusters renders their synthesis and preservation challenging,thereby significantly impeding their ***,we have designed and synthesised a chiral double-coordinated ligand in order to construct copper（I） cluster nodes that can be further *** anticipated,by utilizing stepwise assembly strategy,a cu4cluster node co-modified by chiral alkynyl ligands and triphenylphosphine was further assembled with cd2+ions to obtain 2D layers structure,L/*** L/D-cu4-cd exhibits excellent stability and optical properties,including bright yellow emission,solvent-responsive luminescence,and cPL activity with a maximum glumup to 2.0×10-3,which shows potential applications in the wLED and *** interestingly,the material also exhibits deflection ability towards different wavelengths of linearly polarized light,showing certain potential in the preparation of circular polarizer.

ct>Androgens have multiple actions on the skeleton throughout life. Androgens promote skeletal growth and accumulation of minerals during puberty and adolescence and stimulate osteoblast but suppress osteoclast function, activity and lifespan through complex mechanisms. Also androgens increase periosteal bone apposition, resulting in larger bone size and thicker cortical bone in men. There is convincing evidence to show that aromatization to estrogens was an important pathway for mediating the action of testosterone on bone physiology. Estrogen is probably the dominant sex steroid regulating bone resorption in men, but both testosterone and estrogen are important in maintaining bone formation.

A class of second-order sliding mode controller for servo systems

Sliding mode control （SMc） has been widely investigated in recent years. In this paper, a class of second- order SMc is proposed and used to achieve good tracking performance in servo systems. SMc has good robustness to the disturbances, but conventional SMc uses a sign function to drive the error on the sliding surface, which could generate chattering effect. In order to avoid this problem, our improved SMc uses the integral of the sign function. coupled with an exponential reaching law, the new SMc can better suppress torque disturbances and chatter, This paper first gives the derivation of the new SMc. Simulation and experimental results are then carried out to demonstrate its tracking performance and robustness against torque disturbance and chatter.

Effect of nutrient conditions on the toxicity of naphthalene to chlorella pyrenoidosa

The toxicity of naphthalene to a freshwater microalga, chlorella pyrenoidosa, and the subsequent recovery of algae from the damage were investigated under two nutrient conditions, either enriched with nitrogen （N） and phosphorus （P）, or starved of N and E Results showed that c. pyrenoidosa was more sensitive to naphthalene under N,P-enriched condition, and the inhibitory rate generally increased at first and then decreased gradually with the evaporation of naphthalene under both nutrient conditions. Enriched N, P reduced the inhibitory rate at initial naphthalene concentration of 5 and 10 mg/L, but enhanced it at 100 mg/L, at which more severe ultrastructure damages were found than those under N,P-starved condition. Observed damages included partly or totally disappearance of nucleolus, nuclear, and plasma membranes. According to the chlorophyll content and cell density measurements, c. pyrenoidosa could recover from naphthalene damage with initial concentrations ≤ 50 mg/L in 7 days under both nutrient conditions, while they could not recover if the initial concentration of naphthalene was at 100 mg/L. Under the N,P-starved condition, the inability of c. pyrenoidosa to recover from the naphthalene damage was consistent with the results of high inhibitory rate, low value of specific growth rate （SGR, 0.05 day-l）, and the severe destruction of cell structure. However, under the N,P-enriched conditions, the observed lower inhibitory rate, higher value of SGR （0.55 day^-1）, and the intact cell structure of most cells suggested that algae could potentially recover from the naphthalene damage.
