Societal biosecurity–measures built into everyday society to minimize risks from pests and diseases–is an important aspect of managing epidemics and *** aimed to identify societal options for reducing the transmission and spread of respiratory *** used SARS-CoV-2(severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2)as a case study to meet the immediate need to manage the COVID-19 pandemic and eventually transition to more normal societal conditions,and to catalog options for managing similar pandemics in the *** used a‘solution scanning’*** read the literature;consulted psychology,public health,medical,and solution scanning experts;crowd-sourced options using social media;and collated comments on a ***,we present a list of 519 possible measures to reduce SARS-CoV-2 transmission and *** provide a long list of options for policymakers and businesses to consider when designing biosecurity plans to combat SARS-CoV-2 and similar pathogens in the *** also developed an online application to help with this *** encourage testing of actions,documentation of outcomes,revisions to the current list,and the addition of further options.

The reduction of frictional power losses in power transmitting gears takes a crucial role in the design of energy-and resource-efficient ***-containing lubricants like glycerol and polyalkylene glycols have shown great potential in achieving friction within the superlubricity regime with coefficients of friction lower than 0.01 under elastohydrodynamic ***,a bio-based production of the base stocks can lead to the development of green ***,one challenge associated with the application of water-containing lubricants to gearboxes is the evaporation of water and its impact on the lubricant *** this study,the influence of water evaporation on elastohydrodynamic friction and film thickness was investigated for three water-containing polyalkylene *** nominal water contents of 20 wt%and 40 wt%and two viscosities were *** results show that the friction increases continuously with higher evaporated water content,while the overall friction level remains low in nearly water-free states.A similar trend is observed for film thickness,where the strong increase in viscosity results in a notable increase in film ***,the sensitivity of friction and film thickness to water evaporation is low for small amounts of evaporated *** allows generous thresholds for permissible variations in water content.

Candidatus Accumulibacter,a prominent polyphosphate-accumulating organism(PAO)in wastewater treatment,plays a crucial role in enhanced biological phosphorus removal(EBPR).The genetic underpinnings of its polyphosphate accumulation capabilities,however,remain largely ***,we conducted a comprehensive genomic analysis of ***-PAOs and their relatives within the Rhodocyclaceae family,identifying 124 core genes acquired via horizontal gene transfer(HGT)at its least common *** analysis of an enrichment culture of *** revealed active transcription of 44 of these genes during an EBPR cycle,notably including the polyphosphate kinase 2(PPK2)gene instead of the commonly recognized polyphosphate kinase 1(PPK1)***,the phosphate regulon(Pho)genes showed minimal transcriptions,pointing to a distinctive fact of Pho dysregulation,where PhoU,the phosphate signaling complex protein,was not regulating the high-affinity phosphate transport(Pst)system,resulting in continuous phosphate *** prevent phosphate toxicity,*** utilized the laterally acquired PPK2 to condense phosphate into polyphosphate,resulting in the polyphosphate-accumulating *** study provides novel insights into the evolutionary emergence of the polyphosphate-accumulating trait in ***,offering potential advancements in understanding the PAO phenotype in the EBPR process.

As a key contributor to memory storage, the synapse is one of the earliest affected neuronal components in Alzheimer＇s disease （AD）. Under physiological conditions, the synaptic con- nections between neurons undergo activity-dependent func- tional and morphological re-organisation. This dynamic, ＇plastic＇ neural ability critically depends on the structural integrity of the synapse. Thus, proteins that are implicated in preserving the organisation and dynamics of synaptic connections, including microtubules of the cytoskeleton and associated proteins, have attracted much focus for their involvement in the malfunction- ing AD synapse.

The yellow emitting dysprosium oxysulfide （Dy2O2S） and dysprosium oxysulfate （Dy202SO4） compounds were prepared from the thermal decomposition of hydrated dysprosium sulphate. The materials were characterized by using thermogravimetry （TG/DTG）, X-ray powder diffraction （XRD）, Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） and Raman spectroscopies. The thermal stability temperatures at around 1151 and 1313 K were determined for the Dy202S and Dy202SO4 materials, respectively. The photolumines- cence properties of the dysprosium oxysulfide were investigated, showing narrow emission bands assigned to the 4F9/2----＊6Hj intracon- figurational transitions of the Dy3＋ ion. The yellow emission color of this phosphor suggests that the Dy202S is a promising material for applications in LEDs.
