This paper contributes an inclusive review of scientific studies in the field of sustainable human building ecosystems （sHBEs）. Reducing energy consumption by making buildings more energy efficient has been touted as an easily attainable approach to promoting carbon-neutral energy societies. Yet, despite significant progress in research and technology development, for new buildings, as energy codes are getting more stringent, more and more technologies, e.g., LED lighting, VRF systems, smart plugs, occupancy-based controls, are used. nevertheless, the adoption of energy efficient measures in buildings is still limited in the larger context of the developing countries and middle income/low-income population. The objective of sustainable Human Building Ecosystem Research Coordination network （sHBE-RCn） is to expand synergistic investigative podium in order to subdue barriers in engineering, architectural design, social and economic perspectives that hinder wider application, adoption and subsequent performance of sustainable building solutions by recognizing the essential role of human behaviors within building-scale ecosystems. Expected long-term outcomes of sHBE-RCn are collaborative ideas for transformative technologies, designs and methods of adoption for future design, construction and operation of sustainable buildings.

Our society faces multiple daunting challenges including finding sustainable solutions towards climate change mitigation;efficient production of food,biofuels,and biomaterials;maximizing land-use efficiency;and enabling a sustainable *** can provide environmentally and economically sustainable solutions to these challenges due to their inherent capabilities for photosynthetic capture of atmospheric CO2,allocation of carbon to various organs and partitioning into various chemical forms,including contributions to total soil *** order to enhance crop productivity and optimize chemistry simultaneously in the above-and belowground plant tissues,transformative biosystems design strategies are *** research efforts will be required for accelerating the development of plant cultivars,genotypes,or varieties that are cooptimized in the contexts of biomass-derived fuels and/or materials aboveground and enhanced carbon sequestration ***,we briefly discuss significant knowledge gaps in our process understanding and the potential of synthetic biology in enabling advancements along the fundamental to applied research ***,a convergence of perspectives from academic,industrial,government,and consumer sectors will be needed to realize the potential merits of plant biosystems design for a carbon neutral bioeconomy.

利用内耗技术研究了Tisin系列纳米复合超硬薄膜的结构弛豫和硬化机理。当共振频率大约在100Hz时在230～280℃范围内观察到一个弛豫型的内耗峰。计算出激活能为0．7～1．0eV，弛豫时间指数前因子为10^-10～10^-12秒。对比一系列样品。发现硬度越高内耗峰越低，在硬度高于50GPa的薄膜中没有内耗峰。内耗峰随退火温度升高而不断降低，直至600～750℃退火时消失，并且杨氏模量开始增加，这跟样品退火后硬度增长是一致的。结果表明内耗峰来源于样品中界面的弛豫过程。

Quantification by allometric equations of carbon sequestered by Tectona grandis in different agroforestry systems

non destructive methods for quantification of carbon seques- tration in tropical trees are inadequately developed. We described a stan- dardized method for estimating carbon stock in teak （Tectona grandis Linn. F.）. We developed linear allometric equations using girth at breast height （GBH）, height and age to quantify above ground biomass （AGB）. We used AGB to estimate carbon stock for teak trees of different age groups （1.5, 3.5, 7.5, 13.5, 18.5 and 23.5 years）. The regression equation with GBH, y = 3.174x - 21.27, r2=0.898 （p 〈0.01）, was found precise and convenient due to the difficulty in determination of height and age in dense natural forests of teak. The equation was evaluated in teak agroforestry systems that included Triticum aestivum （wheat）, Cicer arietinum （gram）, Withania somnifera （ashwagandha）,

A grand challenge facing society is climate change caused mainly by rising CO_(2) concentration in Earth’s *** plants are linchpins in global carbon cycling,with a unique capability of capturing CO_(2) via photosynthesis and translocating captured carbon to stems,roots,and soils for long-term ***,many researchers postulate that existing land plants cannot meet the ambitious requirement for CO_(2) removal to mitigate climate change in the future due to low photosynthetic efficiency,limited carbon allocation for long-term storage,and low suitability for the *** address these limitations,there is an urgent need for genetic improvement of existing plants or construction of novel plant systems through biosystems design(or biodesign).Here,we summarize validated biological parts(e.g.,protein-encoding genes and noncoding RnAs)for biological engineering of carbon dioxide removal(CDR)traits in terrestrial plants to accelerate land-based decarbonization in bioenergy plantations and agricultural settings and promote a vibrant ***,we first summarize the framework of plant-based CDR(e.g.,CO_(2) capture,translocation,storage,and conversion to value-added products).Then,we highlight some representative biological parts,with experimental evidence,in this ***,we discuss challenges and strategies for the identification and curation of biological parts for CDR engineering in plants.
