The control of Spodoptera frugiperda is based on synthetic insecticides,so some alternatives are the use of entomopathogenic fungi(EF)and neem *** objective of the study was to evaluate in vitro effectiveness of native EF and neem extracts on *** *** EF were identified by DnA sequencing of iTS regions from three EF(Fusarium solani,Metarrhizium robertsii,nigrospora spherica and Penicillium citrinum).They were evaluated in concentrations of 1×10⁸spores/*** addition,a second bioassay was carried out evaluating only ***,*** and *** and the addition of vegetable *** the other hand,extraction of secondary metabolites from neem seed(Azadirachta indica)was carried out by performing,mass(g)and solvent volume(mL ethanol and water)combinations,which were subjected to microwaves and ***,these extracts were evaluated in concentrations of 3%,4%and 5%.A survival analysis was performed for each of the *** respect to the results of the first bioassay,*** obtained a probability of survival of 0.476 on the seventh day,while in the second bioassay,*** obtained 0.488 survival *** suggests that the expected percentage of larvae that stay alive on the sixth day is 48.8%.However,in the evaluation of the neem extract the combination 1:12/70%to 4%caused 84% mortality of *** use of native HE and neem extracts has potential for the control of ***.

Pelvic sepsis after stapled hemorrhoidopexy

Stapled hemorrhoidopexy is a surgical procedure used worldwide for the treatment of grade Ⅲ and n hemorrhoids in all age groups. However, lifethreatening complications occur occasionally. The following case report describes the development of pelvic sepsis after stapled hemorrhoidopexy. A literature review of techniques used to manage major septic complications after stapled hemorrhoidopexy was performed. There is no standardized treatment currently available. Stapled hemorrhoidopexy is a safe, effective and time-efficient procedure in the hands of experienced colorectal surgeons.

研究河流沉积物氮形态的分布可以了解流域的水环境现状.本研究通过分级浸取方法得到沉积物的离子交换态氮(iEF-n)、弱酸浸取态氮(WAEF-n)、强碱浸取态氮(SAEF-n)以及强氧化剂浸取态氮(SOEF-n),对比研究了太湖西部入湖河流(东苕溪、西苕溪)和洪泽湖西部入湖河流(安河、濉河)沉积物中氮形态的空间分布特征,分析了可转换态氮的主要影响因素.结果表明,不同流域之间沉积物的基本理化性质存在明显的差异,导致沉积物总氮以及可转化态氮的含量及空间分布也不相同.总体而言,太湖西部河流沉积物中总氮和总可转化态氮的含量略高于洪泽湖西部河流,但前者的空间变化小于后者.太湖西部河流沉积物与洪泽湖西部河流沉积物的可转化态氮含量大小排列顺序也有所不同,前者为SOEF-n>SAEF-n>WAEF-n>iEF-n,后者为SOEF-n>SAEF-n>iEF-n>WAEF-n,且后者各形态氮的含量变化更为明显,这主要与沉积物的组成和氮来源有关.研究区沉积物中可转化态氮的分布受其理化性质的影响明显,尤以有机质和粒度的影响最明显.

Ratio of metastatic lymph nodes is more important for rectal cancer patients treated with preoperative chemoradiotherapy

AiM:To evaluate the predictive value of the lymph node(Ln) ratio(LnR,number of metastatic Lns/ examined Lns) for recurrence in patients with rectal cancer and to compare its applicability according to preoperative chemoradiotherapy(PCRT).METHODS:From 2000 to 2009,967 patients with metastatic Lns after curative resection for locally advanced rectal cancer were *** were categorized according to PCRT(PCRT vs no PCRT).The cut-off LnR was determined based on the p n1 vs p n2 when the recommended number of Lns was *** 5-year recurrence-free survival(RFS) rates using the Kaplan-Meier method were compared according to p/yp n stage and the LnR in each ***:Among patients with the same p/yp n stage,the 5-year RFS rate differed according to the *** addition,the 5-year RFS rate was significantly different between p n and LnR groups in patients with no *** PCRT group,however,only LnR was associated with *** multivariate analysis,both p n and LnR were significant independent prognostic factors for 5-year RFS in the no PCRT *** the PCRT group,only LnR category was found to be associated with RFS(HR = 2.36,95%Ci:1.31-3.84,and P = 0.001).COnCLUSiOn:The LnR is an important prognostic predictor of RFS in rectal cancer patients especially treated with *** p n categories could not discriminate between prognostic groups of RFS after PCRT.

Microbes that are beneficial to plants are used to enhance the crop growth,yield and are alternatives to chemical *** and Bacillus are the predominant plant growth-promoting fungi and *** objective of this study was select,characterize,and evaluate isolates of Trichoderma *** Bacillus *** from the northern region of Sinaloa,Mexico,and assess their effect on growth promotion in maize(Zea mays L.).in greenhouse conditions,four Trichoderma isolates and twenty Bacillus isolates,as well as two controls,were tested in a completely randomized design with three *** selected the two best strains of Trichoderma and Bacillus:TB=Trichoderma asperellum,TF=Trichoderma virens,B14=Bacillus cereus sensu lato and B17=Bacillus cereus,which were evaluated in the field in a completely randomized blocks in factorial arrangement design with three replicates applying different rates of nitrogen fertilizer(0,150 kg n/ha,and 300 kg n/ha).Treatments 5(B17=***)and 11(TF=***)both fertilized with 150 kg n/ha showed similar yields and they did not reveal significant differences from the treatments fertilized with 300 kg n/*** indicated that treatment 5(B17=*** with 150 kg n/ha)and treatment 11(TF=*** with 150 kg n/ha)were efficient as growth promoters,by not showing significant differences in root volume and dry weight of *** results indicated a reduction of 50% in the rate of nitrogen to fertilizer required for maize(Zea mays L.)*** microorganisms Trichoderma and Bacillus could be an alternative to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers in maize.

BACKGROUnD Endometriosis is a common disease for women of reproductive age. However,when it involves intestines, it is difficult to diagnose preoperatively because its symptoms overlap with other diseases and the results of evaluations can be unspecific. Thus it is important to know the clinical characteristics of intestinal endometriosis and how to exactly *** To analyze patients in whom intestinal endometriosis was diagnosed after surgical treatments, and to evaluate the clinical characteristics of preoperatively misdiagnosed *** We retrospectively reviewed the pathologic reports of 30 patients diagnosed as having intestinal endometriosis based on surgical specimens between january2000 and December 2017. We reviewed their clinical characteristics and surgical *** Twenty-three(76.6%) patients showed symptoms associated with endometriosis,with dysmenorrhea being the most common(n = 9, 30.0%). Thirteen patients(43.3%) had a history of pelvic surgeries. Ten patients(33.3%) had a history of treatment for endometriosis. Only 4 patients(13.3%) had a diagnosis of endometriosis based on endoscopic biopsy findings. According to preoperative evaluations, 13 patients(43.3%) had an initial diagnosis of pelvic endometriosis and 17 patients(56.6%) were misdiagnosed as having other diseases. The most common misdiagnosis was submucosal tumor in the large intestine(n = 8, 26.7%),followed by malignancies of the colon/rectum(n = 3, 10.0%) and ovary(n = 3,10.0%). According to the Clavien-Dindo classification, 5 complications were grade i or ii and 2 complications were grade iiia. The median follow-up period was 26.9(0.6-132.1) mo, and only 1 patient had a recurrence of *** intestinal endometriosis is difficult to diagnose preoperatively because it mimics various intestinal diseases. Optimal postoperative surveillance strategies for stage iii colorectal cancer

BACKGROUnD Optimal surveillance strategies for stage iii colorectal cancer(CRC)are lacking,and intensive surveillance has not conferred a significant survival *** To examine the association between surveillance intensity and recurrence and survival rates in patients with stage iii *** Data from patients with pathologic stage iii CRC who underwent radical surgery between january 2005 and December 2012 at Asan Medical Center,Seoul,Korea were retrospectively *** consisted of abdominopelvic computed tomography(CT)every 6 mo and chest CT annually during the 5 year follow-up period,resulting in an average of three imaging studies per *** who underwent more than the average number of imaging studies annually were categorized as high intensity(Hi),and those with less than the average were categorized as low intensity(Li).RESULTS Among 1888 patients,864(45.8%)were in Hi ***,sex,and location were not different between *** group had more advanced T and n stage(P=0.002,0.010,each).Perineural invasion(Pni)was more identified in the Hi group(21.4%vs 30.3%,Pn overall survival(OS)and recurrence-free interval(RFi)was longer in the Li group(Pivariate analysis indicated that surveillance intensity[odds ratio(OR)=1.999;95%confidence interval(Ci):1.680–2.377;Pic T stage(OR=1.596;95%Ci:1.197–2.127;P=0.001),Pni(OR=1.431;95%Ci:1.192–1.719;Pnd circumferential resection margin(OR=1.565;95%Ci:1.083–2.262;P=0.017)in rectal cancer were significantly associated with *** mean post-recurrence survival(PRS)was longer in patients who received curative resection(Pive resection rate of recurrence was not different between Hi(29.3%)and Li(23.8%)groups(P=0.160).PRS did not differ according to surveillance intensity(P=0.802).COnCLUSiOn Frequent surveillance with CT scan do not improve OS in stage iii CRC *** need to evaluate role of other surveillance method rather tha

Heat stress(HS)damages livestock by adversely affecting physiological and immunological ***,fundamental understanding of the metabolic and immunological mechanisms in animals under HS remains elusive,particularly in *** understand the changes on metabolic and immune responses in steers under HS condition,we performed RnA-sequencing and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy-based metabolomics on HS-free(temperature humidity index[THi]value:64.92±0.56)and HS-exposed(THi value:79.13±0.56)Jersey steer(n=8,body weight:559.67±32.72 kg).This study clarifies the metabolic changes in 3 biofluids(rumen fluid,serum,and urine)and the immune responses observed in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of HS-exposed *** integrated approach allowed the discovery of HS-sensitive metabolic and immunological *** metabolomic analysis indicated that HS-exposed steers showed potential HS biomarkers such as isocitrate,formate,creatine,and riboflavin(Png them,there were several integrative metabolic pathways between rumen fluid and ***,HS altered mRnA expression and immune-related signaling pathways.A meta-analysis revealed that HS decreased riboflavin metabolism and the expression of glyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism-related ***,metabolic pathways,such as the hypoxia-inducible factor-1 signaling pathway,were downregulated in immune cells by HS(Pindings,along with the datasets of pathways and phenotypic differences as potential biomarkers in steers,can support more in-depth research to elucidate the interrelated metabolic and immunological *** would help suggest new strategies to ameliorate the effects of HS,including disease susceptibility and metabolic disorders,in Jersey steers.
