radar slope monit.r.ng is now widely used across the world, for example, the slope stability radar(Ssr)and the movement and surveying radar(Msr) are currently in use in many mines around the ***, to fully realize the effectiveness of this radar in notifying mine personnel of an impending slope failure, a method that can confidently predict the time of failure is necessary. the model developed in this study is based on the inverse velocity method pioneered by Fukuzono in 1985. the model named the slope failure prediction model(SFPM) was validated with the displacement data from two slope failures monit.r.d with the Msr. the model was found to be very effective in predicting the time to failure while providing adequate evacuation time once the progressive displacement stage is reached.

this paper investigates the free vibration and transient.r.sponse of int.r.onnected struct.r.s including double curved beams and int.r.ediate straight beams,which are all constructed from functionally graded porous(FGP) mat.r.als. the strain potential and kinetic energies of each beam along with the work done by the ext.r.al force are calculated. Additionally, a higher-order beam element is introduced to derive stiffness and mass matrices, along with the force vect.r. the curved and straight beams are discretized, and their assembled stiffness, mass matrices, and force vect.r., are *** conditions at the joints are used to derive the total matrices of the ent.r. struct.r.. Subsequently, the nat.r.l frequencies and transient.r.sponse of the system are det.r.ined. the accuracy of the mathematical model and the self-developed comput.r.program is validated t.r.ugh the comparison of the obtained results with those of the existing lit.r.t.r. and commercial software ANSYS, demonstrating excellent ***, a comprehensive study is conducted to investigate the effects of various paramet.r. on the free vibration and transient.r.sponse of the considered struct.r..

the effect of predeformation manner, predeformation ratio and isothermal heat-treat paramet.r.on the non-dendrite struct.r. of AZ61 magnesium alloy in SIMA process was studied. Under coequal heat-treat condition, the impact of the hot upsetting pre- deformation on semi-solid microstruct.r. in SIMA process was compared with that of the cold compressive predeformation. the results indicate that non-dendrite microstruct.r. in AZ61 magnesium alloy billets can be obtained by hot or cold upsetting predeformation in SIMA process, although their mechanisms of evolution are different. Increasing hot or cold upsetting predeformation ratio can enhance the effect and quality of the non-dendrite microstruct.r. formed before st.r.ge energy up to sat.r.tion, but the proper isothermal temperat.r. and holding time should be selected.

Optical Charact.r.recognition (OCr) refers to the process of converting printed tamil text documents into software translated Unicode tamil text. the printed documents available in the form of books, papers, magazines, etc. are scanned using standard scanners which produce an image of the scanned document. As part of the preprocessing phase the image file is checked for skewing. If the image is skewed, it is corrected by a simple rotation technique in the appropriate direction. then the image is passed t.r.ugh a noise elimination phase and is binarized. the preprocessed image is segmented using an algorithm which de- composes the scanned text into paragraphs using special space detection technique and then the paragraphs into lines using vertical histograms, and lines into words using horizontal histograms, and words into charact.r.image glyphs using horizontal histograms. Each image glyph is comprised of 32×32 pixels. thus a database of charact.r.image glyphs is created out of the segmentation phase. then all the image glyphs are considered for recognition using Unicode mapping. Each image glyph is passed t.r.ugh various routines which extract the feat.r.s of the glyph. the various feat.r.s that are considered for classification are the charact.r.height, charact.r.width, the number of horizontal lines (long and short), the number of vertical lines (long and short), the hori- zontally oriented curves, the vertically oriented curves, the number of circles, number of slope lines, image centroid and special dots. the glyphs are now set.r.ady for classification based on these feat.r.s. the extracted feat.r.s are passed to a Support Vect.r.Machine (SVM) where the charact.r. are classified by Supervised Learning Algorithm. these classes are mapped onto Unicode for recognition. then the text is reconstructed using Unicode fonts.

the temperat.r. stress of reinforced concrete component caused by different linear expension coefficient has been discussed in this paper from the point of view of composite mat.r.als, the temperat.r. dress can reach about 22 to 45 percent of the tension strength for the concrete with low grade and high ratio of reinforcement which should be considered seriously.

Aim: to det.r.ine the effect of a methanolic extract of Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal roots on sexual competence of male rats. Methods: Male rats were orally administ.r.d 3000 mg'kg^***^1 of root extract for 7 days. their sexual behaviour was evaluated 7 days prior to treatment, day 3 and 7 of treatment, and day 7, 14 and 30 post.r.atment by pairing each male with a receptive female. results: the root extract induced a marked impairment in libido, sexual performance, sexual vigour, and penile erectile dysfunction. these effects were partly reversible on cessation of treatment. these antimasculine effects are not due to changes in testost.r.ne levels or toxicity but may be at.r.buted to hyperprolactinemic, GABAergic, serotonergic or sedative activities of the extract. Conclusion: Use of W. somnifera roots may be detrimental to male sexual competence. (Asian J Androl 2002 Dec;4: 295-298)

BACKGrOUND the emergence of secondary drug resistance when treating epidermal growth fact.r.recept.r.EGFr)mutated non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)using EGFrt.r.sine kinase inhibit.r.(EGFr-tKIs),seriously affects the therapeutic efficacy and survival of ***,we report a case of advanced NSCLC focusing on the application of multiple biopsy modalities to reveal the development of multiple resistance mechanisms during t.r.eted *** SUMMArY A 54-year-old male patient presented with EGFr 19Del-mutated advanced lung adenocarcinoma,and exhibited the development of a t790M mutation during initial tKI *** 3 mo of Osimertinib treatment,a mixed response was *** biopsy of the progressive lesion showed transformation to small cell lung cancer(SCLC)harboring rB1 and tP53 mutations,with loss of the original t790M mutation.A standard chemotherapy regimen with Anlotinib for SCLC was *** biopsy revealed adenocarcinoma combined with SCLC aft.r.tumor *** patient’s overall survival was 24 *** Multiple biopsy modalities can reveal the development of multiple resistance mechanisms which help with treatment *** treatment.r.gimens according to the drug resistance mechanism significantly improved the prognosis of such patients.

We have recently cloned a pathogen inducible blast.r.sistance gene Pi-k^h from the indica rice line tetep using a positional cloning approach. In this study, we carried out struct.r.l organization analysis of the Pi-k^h locus in both indica and japonica rice lines. A 100 kb region containing 50 kb upstream and 50 kb downstream sequences flanking to the Pi-k^h locus was selected for the investigation. A total of 16 genes in indica and 15 genes in japonica were predicted and annotated in this region. the average GC content of indica and japonica genes in this region was 53.15% and 49.3%, respectiveIy. Both indica and japonica sequences were polymorphic for simple sequence repeats having mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-, and pentanucleotides. Sequence analysis of the specific blast.r.sistant Pi-k^h allele of tetep and the susceptible Pi-k^h allele of the japonica rice line Nipponbare showed differences in the number and distribution of motifs involved in phosphorylation, resulting in the resistance phenotype in tetep.

eAbstract We extend the t violating model of the paper on ＂Hidden symmetry of the CKM and neutrinomapping matrices＂ by assuming its t-violating phases X↑ and X↓ to be large and the same, with X = X↑ = X↓. In this case, the model has 9 real paramet.r.： at, α↑,β↑,ξ↑,η↑t for the t-quark sect.r. α↓,β↓,ξ↓,η↓, for the sect.r.and a common X- We examine whether these nine paramet.r. are compatible with ten observables： the six quark masses and the four real paramet.r. that charact.r.ze the CKM matrix （i.e., the Jarlskog invariant and t.r.e Eulerian angles）. We find that this is possible only if the t violating phase X is large, between -120^o to -135^o. In this strong t violating model, the smallness of theJarlskog invariant 3 × 10^-5 ismainly accounted for by the large heavy quark masses, with mc/mt〈ms/mb≈0.02, as well as the near completeoverlap of t and b quark, with （c｜b）=-0.04.
