Erythema Nodosum Manifestation Post COVID-19 Vaccine: A Case Report

Erythema nodosum (EN) is a delayed hypersensitivity response that may be triggered by a range of conditions, including infections and vaccines. Rare cases of EN caused by COVID-19 were recently reported but none due to COVID-19 vaccines were documented. We report here a case of EN occurring after COVID-19 vaccination. Patient presented with painful nodular lesions of all 4 limbs, evolving for one month. These lesions appeared 48 h after the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination. The patient reported no recent infectious episodes. The physical examination found numerous, erythematous dermohypodermatitis knots with no palpable adenopathy. Some were regressive according to biligenesis shades. Biology and radiology findings eliminated other common causes of this dermatosis. The skin biopsy was done and suggested EN. The final diagnosis was post COVID-19 vaccine EN. Patient received a symptomatic treatment and had a slight improvement of the lesions 10 days after diagnosis. Physicians should be aware of the side effects of the vaccine including skin manifestations, especially since more people are bound to be vaccinated.

Background:Leishmaniases are vector-borne diseases caused by the protozoa of the Leishmania *** clinical spectrum of these diseases extends from benign dermal lesions to visceral *** the Mediterranean region,zoonotic visceral leishmaniasis(ZVL)is caused by *** untreated within two years,the disease usually leads to *** Morocco,ZVL is endemic in the north,with a hundred cases notified each year,mostly in children aged below five ***,we report on two clinical observations in infants presenting unusual concomitant VL and cutaneous leishmaniasis(CL)in *** presentation:In this case study,we report on two infants aged nine and 12 months *** both have a history of febrile splenomegaly,anemia,and pallor of mucous *** leishmaniasis was confirmed by parasitological diagnosis(positive bone marrow smear and screening of *** antibodies).However,the clinical examination also showed cutaneous lesions that suggested the presence of *** was reinforced by the patients having a history of living or traveling to endemic ***,direct examination,culture,and PCR-RFLP(ITS1-Hae 3)were carried out on the patients’dermal *** one of the infants,CL was associated with ***,while in the other it was associated with *** infants were treated as according to the recommendations of the Ministry of *** patients were cured in two months;defervescence,reduction of splenomegaly,and healing of cutaneous lesions were all ***:These singular patients illustrate the clinical polymorphism of CL and the necessity of updating the differential diagnosis of leukemia-like syndromes,including VL,in children living in or travelling to known endemic *** observations suggest a change in the Mediterranean VL phenotype that may be associated with CL.

Dear Editor,Sarcoidosis is a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown etiology that is characterized by the forma-tion of a giganto-cellular epithelioid granuloma with-out caseous necrosis infiltrating the various *** condition most frequently involves the mediastinal and pulmonary regions,while bone involvement is rare and affects only 1.0%to 13.0%of patients with sarcoid-osis.1 We report a case of an isolated bone sarcoidosis presenting as bull’s finger.

Introduction: According to the literature consulted to date, there is epidemiological heterogeneity of Covid-19 between countries depending on their vaccination policy, in particular BCG vaccination. These findings have led to several hypotheses, including the protective role of immunity induced by the BCG tuberculosis vaccine against Covid-19 infection. The immunity induced by the BCG vaccine significantly increases the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines, in particular IL-1B, which has been shown to play an essential role in antiviral immunity. This cross-immunity, although not specific, if highlighted, is a real providence that must be taken advantage of in the face of this pandemic. The main objective of this study is to rule out or confirm that anti-tuberculosis immunity protects against SARS-COV-2 in our context. Material and Methods: Two groups will be compared: cases infected with the virus and controls who have never been infected with the virus. Both case and control groups will undergo a tuberculin skin test: the intra dermal tuberculin reaction (IDR). Results: We found that our control group had a high IDR immunity value, with an IDR tuberculin positive percentage of 67.2%. This suggests that immunity to IDR is a protective factor against coronavirus disease. Conclusion: The hypothesis of nonspecific anti-tuberculosis protection deserves further verification studies;it would have large positive repercussions for developing countries.
