Objective To evaluate the chemical composition and effects of Artemisia vulgaris(AV)hydroalcoholic extract(HEAV)on breast cancer cells(MCF-7 and SKBR-3),chronic myeloid leukemia(K562)and NIH/3T3 *** phytochemical analysis of HEAV was done by high-performance liquid chromatography-mass(HpLC)*** and cell death studies were performed using trypan blue and Annexin/FITC-7AAD,***-1(Fer-1)and necrostatin-1(Nec-1)were used to assess the mode of HEAV-induced cell death and acetoxymethylester(BApTA-AM)was used to verify the involvement of cytosolic calcium in this *** calcium measurements were made using *** HEAV decreased the viability of MCF-7,SKBR-3 and K562 cells(ppared to HEAV-exposed fibroblasts(pprimarily by late apoptosis and necrosis in assays using annexin V-FITC/7-AAD(pposed to HEAV alone(pppTA-AM,an intracellular Ca^(2+)chelator,decreased the number of non-viable cells treated with HEAV(ppartially dependent on lysosomal release of Ca^(2+).These effects may be related to artemisinin and caffeoylquinic acids,the main compounds identified in HEAV.

Objective: Chronic end-stage renal failure is a major public health problem in developing countries and is poorly documented. The objective of this study was to describe the epidemiological, diagnostic, therapeutic, and evolutionary aspects of patients admitted for end-stage renal failure to the Department of Nephrology at the University Hospital of Brazzaville. patients and Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study collecting prospective data that took place over 10 months. We included 128 patients who were exhaustively identified. Sociodemographic, clinical, therapeutic and developmental data were collected using a standardized and pretested pre-established survey form. The EpI info software enabled the analysis and processing of the data. Results: We reported a male predominance with a sex ratio of 2.5. The median age was 50 years. The first cause found was diabetes (55%) followed by hypertension (46%). The majority of patients had a dialysis emergency and half could not be dialyzed for financial reasons. Conclusion: Our results highlighted that certain epidemiological parameters of end-stage renal failure are constantly changing, such as frequency, while others remain static, including the main etiologies, gender, and age. However, mortality continues to increase and deserves more attention.

The present study systematically investigated the influence of synthesis conditions(duration,reaction medium,and doping concentration)and formation mechanism of carbon dots(CDs)derived from low-cost and abundant biomass palm kernel shell(pKS).Surprisingly,the dopant(urea)did not enhance the photoluminescence of CDs as expected,which could be attributed to the low reactivity between the dopant and pKS *** of synthesis duration from 30 to 120 s clearly indicated the formation mechanism of CDs,involving the stages of dehydration,carbonization,and *** CDs with the highest photoluminescent intensity and quantum yield was obtained at synthesis duration of 90 s,aligned well with the perfect spherical shape of CDs and the synergistic effects of both surface and carbogenic core *** the formation mechanism could be used to optimize the synthesis of CDs,and hence linked to quantum yield and fluorescent *** terms of application potential,the CDs illuminated well as fluorescent ink and in bacteria cells *** potential of CDs as sensing material has also been proven with the quenching of fluorescence in the presence of metal *** linear range for detection of Cu2+ions was 0.1–0.5 mM with a detection limit as low as 0.05 *** signifies the potential of CDs fabricated from pKS as a low-cost and easily available material for Cu2+ions detection in aqueous *** CDs possessed reasonable photo stability as indicated by its consistent fluorescence level even after exposure to UV radiation for a prolonged period of 180 ***,a simple,straightforward,and fast method is developed to synthesis strong blue emissive CDs from green pKS that are potentially suitable for Cu2+ions sensing in real application.

Using the first-principles density functional theory calculations within the genera- lized gradient approximation we study the bis（1H-imidazolium-kN3）silver（I） nitrate molecular crystal. A number of different exchange-correlation functionals are considered for a possible treatment of the system. perdew-Burke-Emzerhof （pBE） GGA exchange-correlation ftmctionals are found to be adequate for our system. The obtained results show that it is possible to reproduce very well the geometry of at least some molecular crystals if computational parameters are chosen adequately. In addition to the reproducing crystal structure of the bis（1H-imidazolium-kN3）silver（I） nitrate in close agreement with the available experimental data, the present work reports analysis on the chemical bonding in the material and gives total and partial density of states of this system.

BACKGROUND Brain arteriovenous malformations(bAVMs)remains one of the most prevalent causes of intracranial hemorrhage and stroke-like syndromes in the young adult *** it has been agreed upon that definitive treatment using either single or multi-modal approach is warranted for successful bAVM management,much debate still revolves regarding the optimal timing of definitive *** SUMMARY In this report,we present a case of delayed,definitive endovascular treatment for ruptured bAVM in a 21-year-old female,3 mo *** bAVM,with a left pericallosal feeding artery and cortical draining veins,was successfully obliterated through embolization using the Onyx *** follow-up the patient has recommenced her daily activities and experiences only mild occasional headaches with mild motor *** report leads to our review on an important issue regarding the optimal timing of ruptured bAVM definitive management and bring forward the current evidence available on delayed vs immediate definitive bAVM *** also highlight current issues that need to be addressed for clearer guidelines on definitive therapy *** Current treatment paradigms of ruptured bAVM remains elusive,with substantial heterogeneity in the current literature.A consensus on the definition of“acute”vs“delayed”,management goal,follow-up length and outcome parameters are required to support formation of a clear paradigm.

Today,planning procedures which are used in different fields of decision making such as determination of optimum planting patterns are considered as important management *** importance of optimum planting patterns is highlighted when we learn that agricultural measures may have environmental side *** economical analyses only focus on increasing economic gains of the farmers without regard to its environmental ***,one can argue that efficient managers should consider multiple purposes that cover both economic and environmental goals at the same *** study attempted to identify an optimum mixed model of organic and non-organic production systems using a combination of AHp(Analytical Hierarchy process)approach andWeighted Goal programming to consider environmental and economic indicators *** procedure was employed in the current design to determine and compare an optimum pattern of mixed planting of organic and non-organic *** study sample was cucumber,investigated in four farming systems:organic open field farming system,nonorganic greenhouse farming system,non-organic tunnel farming system and open field non-organic farming system in Jiroft,Kerman,with regard to paper *** the proposed MCDM(Multiple Criteria Decision Making)model,cucumber planting in open field non-organic farming system was replaced by open field organic farming *** and environmental indicators rose by 11.97%and 21.40%respectively in MCDM proposed plan in comparison with the existing farm plan,which indicates the feasibility of MCDM proposed plan in terms of economic and environmental indicators.

Objective: To evaluate whether addition of symbiotic to clindamycin could reduce Gardnerella vaginalis,Atopobium vaginae,and Megasphaera phylotypeⅠin pregnant women with bacterial ***: This randomized controlled trial(RSUp *** Sudirohusodo Makassar clinical trial registry UH17010021)included 61 *** intervention group was given clindamycin and synbiotic while the control group was given clindamycin and placebo(without synbiotic).Wilcoxon test and hypothesis test of two independent samples were used to compare the treatment ***: This study showed a significant difference in Nugent score before and after treatment in each *** there was no difference in Nugent score between the intervention group and the control group after treatment or in Nugent scores reduction in both *** most common type of bacteria found was Megasphaera phylotypeⅠ.There were no significant differences in the three types(Gardnerella vaginalis,Atopobium vaginae,and Megasphaera phylotypeⅠ)of bacteria after treatment between both ***,there was no difference in therapeutic effect between the intervention group and the control ***: Clindamycin along with synbiotics is no more effective for treated bacterial vaginosis than clindamycin without *** is the most commonly found bacteria,which cannot be eradicated with clindamycin.
