Background： The reported mortality rate of mushroom-induced acute liver failure with conventionaltreatment is 1.4%–16.9%. Emergency liver transplantation may be indicated and can be the only curativetreatment option. This study aimed to assess the prognostic value of criteria for emergency livertransplantation in predicting 28-day mortality in patients with mushroom-induced acute liver ***： A retrospective cohort study was performed between January 2005 and December 2015. Alladult patients aged≥18 years admitted with mushroom intoxication at our emergency department wereevaluated. All patients with acute liver injury, defined as elevation of serum liver enzymes （〉5 timesthe upper limit of normal, ULN） or moderate coagulopathy （INR 〉 2.0） were included. The ability of the King’s College, Ganzert’s, and Escudié’s criteria to predict 28-day mortality was evaluated.

We report here a case of pancreatic pseudocystocolic fistula that was treated without surgical or endoscopic intervention.A 76-year-old woman,presenting with a fever and epigastric pain,was referred to our *** months prior to this admission,the patient had been admitted to the hospital for acute *** computerized tomography(CT)revealed a 9 cm pseudocyst containing air,and a fistular opening was observed via *** colonoscopy,the abdominal pain was slightly improved,the fever subsided and laboratory results showed decreased C-reactive protein *** observed improvement was likely due to the cleansing of the bowel,which induced spontaneous drainage from the pseudocyst into the *** therapy was administered and daily bowel cleansing was performed using a polyethylene glycol *** three weeks,a follow-up CT revealed that the size of the pseudocyst had decreased significantly from 9 to 5.3 *** addition,laboratory tests were *** patient was able to resume a normal diet and was discharged in good overall health from the hospital,without aggravation of the symptoms.A colonoscopy performed 3 mo later and a follow-up CT performed 6 mo later confirmed that both the fistula and pseudocyst had completely disappeared.

We propose and demonstrate to derive the Auger recombination coefficient by fitting efficiency-current and carrier lifetime-current curves simultaneously, which can minimize the uncertainty of fitting results. The obtained Auger recombination coefficient is 1.0x10(-31) cm(6)s(-1) in the present sample, which contributes slightly to efficiency droop effect.

AIM: To examine whether the reversibility of chronic cyclosporine A (CsA) nephrotoxicity is associated with apoptotic cell death and its regulatory factors. METHODS: Chronic CsA nephrotoxicity was induced in Sprague- Dawley rats by administering CsA (15 mg/kg, sc) for 5 weeks, and then withdrawing it for 5 or 10 weeks. The effect of CsA withdrawal on apoptotic cell death was evaluated by an in situ TdT-mediated deoxyuridine triphos- phate-biotin nick end-labeling (TUNEL) assay and the expression of pro-apoptotic [(transforming growth factor- beta1 (TGF-β1) and Fas] and anti-apoptotic [epidermal growth factors (EGF) and Bcl-2] factors. RESULTS: Discontinuation of CsA induced significant decreases in TUNEL-positive cells in a time-dependent manner and the reduction in TUNEL-positive cells was correlated with the tubulointerstitial fibrosis score (r=0.919, P<0.01). Upregulation of TGF-β1 and Fas expression in CsA-treated rat kidneys was decreased significantly after with- drawal of CsA. In contrast, downregulated EGF and Bcl-2 expression returned to normal or supernormal levels. CONCLUSION: CsA withdrawal is associated with a decrease in apoptotic cell death and with changes in the expression of pro-apoptotic and anti-apoptotic molecules involved in renal wound repair. This may constitute one of the mechanisms underlying the reversibility of chronic CsA nephrotoxicity.

Friction stir butt welding (FSW) between A5052-O aluminum alloy plates with a thickness of 2 mm was *** rotation speeds of the welding tool were 2000 and 3000 r/min,*** traverse speed was ranged from 100 mm/min to 900 mm/*** defect-free welds with the very smooth surface morphology were successfully obtained,except for at the welding condition of 3000 r/min and 100 mm/*** onion ring structure was observed in the friction-stir-welded zone (SZ) at the condition of 2000 r/min and 100 mm/*** all the welding conditions,the grain size of the SZ was smaller than that of the base metal,and was decreased with the decrease of the tool rotation speed and with the increase of the tool traverse *** stir zone exhibited higher average hardness than the base *** decrease of the tool rotation speed and the increase of the tool traverse speed resulted in the increase in the average hardness of the *** tensile strength of the FSWed plates was similar to that of the base metal,except for at the welding condition of 3000 r/min and 100 mm/*** total elongation of the FSWed plates was lower than that of the base metal.

The Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy strip can be successfully fabricated by twin roll casting. In order to determine the effect of thickness reduction and heat treatment temperature on the recrystallization behavior, the strips were rolled and subsequently heat treated under various conditions. As a result, a fine grained microstructure （average grain size -13 μm, average grain aspect ratio -1.7） and high mechanical properties （UTS ≥360 MPa, δ ≥20%） were obtained by cold rolling with thickness reduction of 60% and heat treatment at 500 ℃ for 1 h. Also, the effect of the microstructure on mechanical properties of the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy strip was discussed. Consequently, the low cost and high strength Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy sheet can be fabricated by twin roll casting by proper thermo-mechanical processes.

YBa2Cu3O7-x(YBCO) films were fabricated on an LAO substrate using the trifluoroacetic acid-metal organic deposition(TFA-MOD) method and the effects of the humidity and heat treatment temperatures on the microstructure,degree of texture and critical properties of the films were *** order to understand the combined effects of the humidity and the calcining and firing temperatures on critical properties,heat-treatment was performed at various temperatures with the other processing variables *** films were calcined at 400-430 ℃ and fired at 750-800 ℃ in a 0-12.1% humidified Ar-O2 *** texture was determined by pole-figure *** amount of the BaF2 phase was effectively reduced and a sharp and strong biaxial texture was formed under a humidified atmosphere,which led to increased critical *** addition,the microstructure varied significantly with firing temperature but changed little with calcining *** highest IC of 40 A/cm-width,which corresponds to JC value of 1.8 MA/cm2,was obtained for the films fired at 775 ℃(in 12.1% humidity) after calcining at 400-430 ℃.It is likely that the highest IC value is due to the formation of a more pure YBCO phase,c-axis grains,and a denser microstructure.

Background Advancements in neonatal care have increased preterm infant survival but paradoxically raised intraventricular hemorrhage(IVH)*** study explores IVH prevalence and long-term outcomes of very low birth weight(VLBW)infants in Korea over a *** Using Korean National Health Insurance data(NHIS,2010-2019),we identified 3372 VLBW infants with IVH among 4,129,808 live ***-related claims data,encompassing diagnostic codes,diagnostic test costs,and administered procedures were sourced from the NHIS *** results of the developmental assessments are categorized into four groups based on standard deviation(SD)*** characteristics and complications were compared among the *** regression models were employed to identify significant changes in the incidence of complications and to calculate odds ratios with corresponding 95%confidence intervals for each risk factor associated with mortality and morbidity in ***-term growth and development were compared between the two groups(years 2010-2013 and 2014-2017).Results IVH prevalence was 12%in VLBW and 16%in extremely low birth weight(ELBW)*** the past decade,IVH rates increased significantly in ELBW infants(P=0.0113),while mortality decreased(P=0.0225).Major improvements in certain neurodevelopmental outcomes and reductions in early morbidities have been observed among VLBW infants with *** percent of the population received surgical treatments such as external ventricular drainage(EVD)or a ventriculoperitoneal(VP)shunt,with the choice of treatment methods remaining consistent over *** IVH with surgical intervention group exhibited higher incidences of delayed development,cerebral palsy,seizure disorder,and growth failure(height,weight,and head circumference)up to 72 months of age(P<0.0001).Surgical treatments were also significantly associated with abnormal developmental screening test *** The neurodevelopmental outcomes of infa

Piezoelectricity offers an electromechanical coupling that is widely utilized in transducer *** has been a consistent demand for transparent piezoelectric materials for optoelectrical ***,despite the inherent tradeoff between the transparency and the piezoelectricity,numerous strategies have been explored to develop the transparent piezoelectric ***,the most transparent piezoelectric materials developed to date is either a single crystal or materials that achieve transparency via hot-press sintering,limiting its industrial ***,we introduce a novel piezoelectric material that ensures transparency through co-doping and pressureless sintering of polycrystalline *** this study,we employed a compositional optimization approach to enhance the synergistic effect between the transparency and the piezoelectric properties of 0.71Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)–0.29PbTiO_(3)(PMN–0.29PT)*** utilizing the tape casting process for mass production and large-area manufacturing,our Pb_(0.913)La_(0.0145)Sm_(0.0145)(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))_(0.71)Ti_(0.29)O_(3)(TP2.9)ceramics exhibited over 60%transparency and large piezoelectric coefficient(d33)of 1104 pC/*** material holds considerable promise for a wide range of industrial applications in both the optical and electronic domains.
