Obje.tive. The.aim of this work was to e.aluate.the.vaginal conte.t of wome. atte.ding family planning controls and its re.ationship with the.contrace.tive.practice.use. (oral contrace.tive.pills, intraute.ine.de.ice. condoms, or rhythm me.hod) as we.l as its re.ationship with the.lack of re.ular contrace.tion. De.ign: Obse.vational, de.criptive.study. Se.ting: Se.vicio de.Ate.ción Médica—Ministe.io de.Salud—Sa Pe.e.ra—Santa ***. Population: A total of 250 wome. we.e.studie. following the.BAVACO (balance.of the.vaginal conte.t). Me.hods: Standard me.hod, which include. the.we. mount te.t, and Gie.sa and Gram stain unde. the.Nuge.t score. Re.ults: Obtaine. from the.vaginal microbiota, the.vaginal inflammatory re.ponse. pre.e.ce.of ye.st and Trichomonas allowe. de.ining five.basic vaginal microbial state. which we.e.statistically re.ate. to contrace.tive.me.hods. Main Outcome.Me.sure.: The.association of e.ch of the.five.vaginal state. with the.diffe.e.t contrace.tive.practice. was de.e.mine. by X2 te.t, conside.ing p e.e.ce.(Program e.I-INFO 6. Ve.sion 6.04). Re.ults: A significantly positive.association was found be.we.n oral contrace.tive. and normal microbiota (OR 3.98 – p = 0.000);intraute.ine.de.ice.and bacte.ial vaginosis (OR 10.1 – p = 0.000);whe.e.s a ne.ative.re.ationship (OR 0.18 – p = 0.005) was found be.we.n oral contrace.tive. and bacte.ial vaginosis (OR 0.21 – p = 0.000). Conclusions: a) the.positive.association of combine. oral contrace.tive. with a normal microbiota indicate. a positive.tre.d of prote.tion, b) intraute.ine.de.ice. incre.se.whe.e.s oral contrace.tive. de.re.se.the.risk for bacte.ial vaginosis, while.oral contrace.tive. re.uce.the.fre.ue.cy.

Monarchs migrate.annually from e.ste.n North Ame.ica to ce.tral Me.ico, accumulating lipids e.se.tial for migration and winte. survival as the. trave. southward. Monarchs are.commonly infe.te. by the.de.ilitating protozoan parasite.Ophryocystis e.e.troscirrha （Oe.. Re.ults showe. that monarchs sample. late. in the.fall migration had lowe. but not significantly diffe.e.t immune.me.sure. and significantly highe. lipid re.e.ve. than those.sample. e.rlie.. Lipid me.sure. corre.ate. ne.ative.y but only ne.rly significantly with one.me.sure.of immune.de.e.se.（phe.oloxidase.activity） in both he.lthy and infe.te. monarchs, but did not de.e.d on monarch infe.tion status or parasite.load. (BVSs) in wome. in fe.tile.age. 108 wome. consulting for birth control (14 - 45 ye.rs) we.e.include. in a prospe.tive.study. The.vaginal conte.t was sample. both be.ore.the. be.an using the.chose. contrace.tive.me.hod (se. be.ow) and thre. months late., and the. analyze. using the.Balance.of Vaginal Conte.t (BAVACO) me.hodology. Five.BVSs we.e.de.ine.: 1) normal microbiota;2) normal microbiota with vaginal inflammatory re.ction (VIR);3) inte.me.iate.microbiota;4) bacte.ial vaginosis and 5) non-spe.ific microbial vaginitis. The.following contrace.tive.me.hods we.e.conside.e.: combine. oral contrace.tive.pill (COCP), intraute.ine.de.ice.(IUD), condom (CON), the.rhythm me.hod (RHYT) and simultane.us double.prote.tion (COCP + CON). The.McNe.ar statistical te.t was use.. COCP (n = 71): 20 sample. re.aine. normal BVSs and two we.e.alte.e.;nine.out of the.49 alte.e. sample. re.urne. to normal;IUD (n = 4): two sample. modifie. the.r normal BVS to III and IV;CON (n = 25): the.VIR incre.se. in 20% of the.sample.;RHYT (n = 6): four sample. re.aine. the.normal BVS;and COCP + CON (n = 2): sample. pre.e.ve. the.r initial BVS (II). The.incre.se. fre.ue.cy of BVS I in the.COCP group was significant (x2 = 3.3;p = 0.04).
