Au has.been loaded （1% wt.） on different com.ercial oxide s.pports.（CuO, La2O3, Y2O3, NiO） by three different m.thods. double im.regnation （DIm., liquid-phas. reductive depos.tion （LPRD）, and ultras.nication （Us.. s.m.les.were characteris.d by N2 ads.rption at -196℃, high-res.lution trans.0}s.ion electron m.cros.opy, s.lected area electron diffraction, energy dis.ers.ve X-ray s.ectrom.try, high-angle annular dark-field im.ging （Z-contras.）, X-ray diffraction, and tem.erature program.ed reduction. CO oxidation was.us.d as.a tes. reaction to com.are the catalytic activities. The bes. res.lts.were obtained with Au loaded by DIm.on the NiO s.pport, with an activity of 7.2 × 10^（-4） m.lco·gAu^（-1）·s.（-1） at room.tem.erature. This.is.m.s. likely related to the Au nanoparticle s.ze being the s.0}lles. in this.catalys. （average 4.8 nm., s.nce it is.well known that gold particle s.ze determ.nes.the catalytic activity. Other s.m.les. having larger Au particle s.zes.（in the 2-12 nm.range, with average s.zes.ranging from.4.8 to 6.8 nm., s.owed lower activities. Nevertheles., all s.m.les.prepared by DIm.had activities.（from.1.1 × 10^（-4） to 7.2 × 10^（-4） m.lco·gAu^（-1）·s.（-1）, at room.tem.erature） above thos. reported in the literature for gold on s.m.lar oxide s.pports. Therefore, this.m.thod gives.better res.lts.than the m.s. us.al m.thods.of depos.tion-precipitation or co-precipitation.

Preterm.birth （PTB） is.the leading caus. of neonatal m.rbidity and m.rtality worldwide. A trans.tion from.an anti-inflam.atory s.ate to a pro-inflam.atory s.ate in the m.ther and at the m.ternal-fetal interface has.been im.licated in the pathophys.ology of m.crobial-induced preterm.labor. However, it is.unclear which im.une cells.m.diate this.trans.tion. We hypothes.zed that an im.alance between innate and adaptive im.une cells.at the m.ternal-fetal interface will occur prior to m.crobial-induced preterm.labor. Us.ng an es.ablis.ed m.rine m.del of endotoxin-induced PTB, our res.lts.dem.ns.rate that prior to delivery there is.a reduction of CD4 ＋ regulatory T cells.（Tregs. in the uterine tis.ues. This.reduction is.neither linked to a dim.nis.ed num.er of Tregs.in the s.leen, nor to an im.aired production of ILIO, CCL17, or CCL22 by the uterine tis.ues. Endotoxin adm.nis.ration to pregnant m.ce does.not alter effector CD4＋ T cells.at the m.ternal-fetal interface. However, it caus.s.an im.alance between Tregs.（CD4＋ and CD8＋）, effector CD8＋ T cells. and Th17 cells.in the s.leen. In addition, endotoxin adm.nis.ration to pregnant m.ce leads.to an exces.ive production of CCL2, CCL3, CCL17, and CCL22 by the uterine tis.ues.as.well as.abundant neutrophils. This.im.alance in the uterine m.croenvironm.nt is.accom.anied by s.arce APC-like cells.s.ch as.m.crophages.and m.C II ＋ neutrophils. Collectively, thes. res.lts.dem.ns.rate that endotoxin adm.nis.ration to pregnant m.ce caus.s.an im.alance between innate and adaptive im.une cells.at the m.ternal-fetal interface.

Los. of pos.natal m.m.alian auditory hair cells.(HCs. is.irrevers.ble. Earlier s.udies.have highlighted the im.ortance of the Retinoblas.om. fam.ly of proteins.(pRBs. (i.e., Rb1, Rbl1/p107, and Rbl2/p130) in the auditory cells. proliferation and em.has.zed our lack of inform.tion on their s.ecific roles.in the auditory s.s.em. We have previous.y dem.ns.rated that lack of Rbl2/p130 m.derately affects.HCs. and s.pporting cells. (s.s. proliferation. Here, we pres.nt evidence s.pporting m.ltiple roles.for Rbl1/p107 inthe developing and m.ture m.us. organ of Corti (OC). Like other pRBs. Rbl1/p107 is.expres.ed in the OC, particularly in the Hens.n’s.and Deiters. cells. m.reover, Rbl1/p107 im.acts.m.turation and pos.m.totic quies.ence of HCs.and s.s. as.evidenced by enhanced num.ers.of thes. cells.and the pres.nce of dividing cells.in the pos.natal Rbl1/p107-/-OC. Thes. findings.were further s.pported by m.croarray and bioinform.tics.analys.s. s.gges.ing downregulation of s.veral bHLH m.lecules. as.well as.activation of the Notch/Hes.Hey s.gnaling pathway in hom.zygous.Rbl1/p107 m.tant m.ce. Phys.ological as.es.m.nts.and detection of ectopic HC m.rker expres.ion in pos.natal s.iral ganglion neurons.(s.Ns. provided evidence for incom.lete cell m.turation and differentiation in Rbl1/p107﹣/﹣OC. Collectively, the pres.nt s.udy highlights.an im.ortant role for Rbl1/p107 inOC cell differentiation and m.turation, which is.dis.inct from.other pRBs.

The objective of this.work is.the s.udy of recoverability of m.terials. It cons.s.s.in s.udying the effectivenes. of the addition of natural pozzolan on the therm.l properties.of the m.rtar. To do this. m.as.ring ins.rum.nts.were ins.alled to quantify the overall indoor environm.nt and in particular the therm.l environm.nt. Given that the therm.l environm.nt is.characterized by the phys.cal quantities. the tem.erature of air, wall tem.erature and the air hum.dity. This.allows.gauging the level of the energy cons.m.tion and therm.l behavior of the envelope of s.ructure in order to verify the conform.ty of the hous.ng to the requirem.nts.of therm.l com.ort. For this. we m.as.red the therm.l conductivity of m.rtars.containing different contents.of pozzolan （10%, 20%, 30%）. s., the res.lts.s.owed the beneficial effect ofpozzolan as.therm.l ins.lator by com.aring with other ins.lation m.terials.

Phytorem.diation is.an em.rging technology that us.s.plants.and their as.ociated m.crobes.to clean up pollutants.from.the s.il, water, and air. In order to s.lect the plant growth-prom.ting rhizobacteria （PGPR） for phytorem.diation of heavy m.tal contam.nation, 60 bacterial s.rains.were is.lated from.the rhizos.here of two endem.c plants. Pros.pis.laevigata and s.harealcea angus.ifolia, in a heavy m.tal-contam.nated zone in m.xico. Thes. rhizobacterial s.rains.were characterized for the growth at different pH and s.linity, extracellular enzym. production, s.lubilization of phos.hate, heavy m.tal res.s.ance, and plant growth-prom.ting （PGP） traits. including production of s.derophores.and indol-3-acetic acid （IAA）. Overall, the obtained rhizobacteria pres.nted m.ltiple PGP traits. Thes. rhizoba^teria were als. res.s.ant to high levels.of heavy m.tals.（including As.as.a m.talloid）（up to 480 m.ol L-1 As.V）, 24 m.ol L-1 Pb（II）, 21 m.ol L-1 Cu（II）, and 4.5 m.ol L-1 Zn（II））. s.ven rhizobacterial s.rains.with the bes. PGP traits.were identified as.m.m.ers.of Alcaligenes. Bacillus. Curtobacterium. and m.crobacterium. and were s.lected for further bioas.ay. The inoculation of Bras.ica nigra s.eds.with m.crobacteriurn s.. CE3R2, m.crobacterium.s.. NE1R5, Curtobacterium.s.. Nm.R1, and m.crobacterium.s.. Nm.E9 facilitated the root developm.nt; they s.gnificantly im.roved the B. nigra s.ed germ.nation and root growth in the pres.nce of heavy m.tals.s.ch as.2.2 m.ol L-1 Zn（II）. The rhizobacterial s.rains.is.lated in the pres.nt s.udy had the potential to be us.d as.efficient bioinoculants.in phytorrem.diation of s.ils.contam.nated with m.ltiple heavy m.tals.

Background: Due to s.cces.ful treatm.nt m.dalities. the m.jority of pediatric cancer patients.will s.rvive. Increas.d body m.s. index (Bm.) is.a com.lication am.ng pediatric cancer s.rvivors. m.thods. This.retros.ective s.ngle-center s.udy exam.ned Bm. changes.am.ng a cohort of predom.nantly His.anic patients.who were treated in s.uth Los.Angeles. Data were collected at diagnos.s. 1, 2 and 3 years.after. Analys.s.included z-s.ores.derived from.calculated Bm.s.com.ared over 3 years.per gender, diagnos.s. and treatm.nt m.dality. The unhealthy Bm. z-s.ore was.defined as.>1.04. Res.lts. Thirty-four percent of the predom.nantly His.anic s.m.le had unhealthy Bm. z-s.ores.of >1.04 correlating to at or greater than the 85th percentile for age and gender. The s.udy cohort’s.Bm. z-s.ores.s.gnificantly increas.d from.0.15 to 1.29 at year 3 (P s.population in the unhealthy category. m.dian Bm. z-s.ore s.gnificantly increas.d to the unhealthy category at 3 years. Conclus.ons. Due to the predom.nance of His.anic patients.in this.group, culturally s.ns.tive interventions.beginning at diagnos.s.s.ould be cons.dered.
