Mesenchymal stem cells,extracellular vesicles,and transcranial magnetic stimulation for ferroptosis after spinal cord injury

Spinal cord injury is characte rized by diffe rent aetiologies,complex pathogenesis,and diverse pathological *** treatments are not ideal,and prognosis is generally *** spinal cord injury,neurons die due to various forms of cell *** them,fe rroptosis causes dysfunction after spinal cord injury,and no existing traditional treatments have been indicated to block its ***,emerging therapies using mesenchymal stem cells,extracellular vesicles,and transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy are promising for reve rsing spinal co rd neuronal ferroptosis after spinal cord ***,no definitive studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of these *** review summarizes the existing research on the mechanisms of ferroptosis;fe rroptosis after spinal cord injury;treatment of spinal cord injury with mesenchymal stem cells,extracellular vesicles,and transc ranial magnetic stimulation;and treatment of ferroptosis using mesenchymal stem cells,extracellular vesicles,and transc ranial magnetic *** ferroptosis can promote the reversal of neurological dysfunction after spinal cord *** addition,mesenchymal stem cells,extracellular vesicles,and transc ranial magnetic stimulation can reve rse adverse outcomes of spinal cord injury and regulate ferroptosis-related fa ***,it can be inferred that mesenchymal stem cells,extracellular vesicles,and transcranial magnetic stimulation have the potential to inhibit fe rroptosis after spinal cord *** review serves as a reference for future research to confirm these conclusions.

Conjugation of Chitooligosaccharide-5-fluorouracil with Bovine Serum Albumin

The interaction between chitooligosaccharide-5-fluorouracil （COS-5FU） and bovine serum albumin （BSA） was studied by fluorescence spectroscopy. It was found that an energy transfer between COS-5FU and BSA had been occurred. The binding constants were calculated, k298K=1.175×10^4 L·mol^-1. Based on the mechanism of energy transfer of dipole-dipole interaction between the donor and acceptor, the distance between BSA and COS-SFU was determined.

BACKGROUND Maple syrup urine disease(MSUD)is a rare autosomal-recessive disorder that affects branched-chain amino acid(BCAA)metabolism and is named after the distinctive sweet odor of affected infants’*** disease is characterized by the accumulation of BCAAs and corresponding branched-chain ketoacids of leucine,isoleucine,and valine in the plasma,urine,and cerebrospinal ***,the mechanisms of MSUD-induced brain damage remain poorly *** accumulation of BCAAs in the brain inhibits the activity of pyruvate dehydrogenase andα-ketoglutarate,disrupting the citric acid cycle and consequently impacting the synthesis of amino acids,causing cerebral edema and abnormal *** SUMMARY We report three neonates admitted to our hospital with the classic subtype of *** three patients,with a transient normal period,presented with poor feeding,vomiting,poor weight gain,and increasing lethargy after *** testing revealed metabolic *** serum tandem mass spectrometry amino acid profile showed elevated plasma levels of BCAAs(leucine,isoleucine,and valine).Brain magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)presented abnormal signals mainly involving the globus pallidus,thalamus,internal capsule,brainstem,and cerebellar white matter,which represent the typical myelinated areas in normal full-term *** In our patients,MRI showed typical features,in concordance with the available *** detection and timely treatment are very helpful for the prognosis of MSUD ***,we discuss the neuroimaging features of MSUD to enhance the knowledge of pediatricians about this disease.

Effect of Processing on Taste Quality and Health-Relevant Functionality of Sweet Potato Tips

The effects of fermenting, boiling, and steaming processes on the levels of free amino acids, organic acids, antioxidant properties （FRAP and DPPH）, phenolic compounds, and angiotensine converting enzyme （ACE） inhibition of sweet potato tips were investigated. Seventeen free amino acids were found in the tips. Fermenting, boiling, and steaming processes significantly reduced total free amino acid contents and steaming processes caused smaller losses than fermenting and boiling processes. Five organic acids were investigated in the tips. In comparison with the total organic acid content of unprocessed sweet potato tips, steaming and boiling processes significantly reduced it, while fermenting process increased it. Chlorogenic acid, rutin, and quercetin were investigated in the tips. The total phenolic compounds contents of sweet potato tips significantly increased by steaming and boiling processes, but a substantial loss was caused by fermenting process. A similar result was shown in FRAP value. The result of ACE inhibitory activity indicated that boiling, steaming, and fermenting processes significantly increased ACE inhibitory activity.

Antioxidant activity of bovine serum albumin binding amino acid Schiff-bases metal complexes

Glutamic acid-salicylaldehyde Schiff-base metal complexes are bound into bovine serum albumin （BSA）, which afforded BSA binding Schiff-base metal complexes （BSA-SalGluM, M=Cu, Co, Ni, Zn）. The BSA binding metal complexes were characterized by UV-vis spectra and Native PAGE. It showed that the protein structures of BSA kept after coordinating amino acid Schiff-bases metal complexes. The effect of the antioxidant activity was investigated. The results indicate that the antioxidant capacity of BSA increased more than 10 times after binding Schiff-base metal complexes.

Inter-correlation between Sunspot Oscillations and Their Internal Structures

Three-and five-minute oscillations are commonly observed in any *** they are modulated by the internal thermal and magnetic structures of a sunspot,they could be used as an effective tool for researching sunspot *** this paper,we investigate the properties of oscillations in sunspot groups with varying sizes and magnetic fields,and aim to establish the relationships between sunspot oscillations and its internal structure *** selected three groups of the unipolar sunspot with approximately axial-symmetric magnetic field and calculated their Fourier spectra based on the ultraviolet/extreme ultraviolet emission intensity variations recorded by the Solar Dynamics Observatory/Atmospheric Imaging *** found that the distribution of three-minute oscillation is defined by the joint effect of diverging magnetic field and the stratification of the sunspot *** distribution could be modified by any invading magnetic structures in the *** contrast,the five-minute oscillations are more prominent in small spots,implying that five-minute oscillation is very closely connected with umbral dynamics.

Structure-based simulations complemented by conventional all-atom simulations to provide new insights into the folding dynamics of human telomeric G-quadruplex

The hybrid atomistic structure-based model has been validated to be effective in investigation of G-quadruplex *** this study,we performed large-scale conventional all-atom simulations to complement the folding mechanism of human telomeric sequence Htel24 revealed by a multi-basin hybrid atomistic structure-based ***,the real time-scale of folding rate,which cannot be obtained from the structure-based simulations,was estimated directly by constructing a Markov state *** results show that Htel24 may fold as fast as on the order of milliseconds when only considering the competition between the hybrid-1 and hybrid-2 G-quadruplex ***,in comparison with the results of structure-based simulations,more metastable states were identified to participate in the formation of hybrid-1 and hybrid-2 *** findings suggest that coupling the hybrid atomistic structure-based model and the conventional all-atom model can provide more insights into the folding dynamics of DNA *** a result,the multiscale computational framework adopted in this study may be useful to study complex processes of biomolecules involving large conformational changes.

Time-frequency decomposition has been widely used to analyze those long periodic signals in solar *** mode decomposition（EMD） is the popular methods to decompose them from time domain to time-frequency ***,the approach brings mode mixing in cycle decomposition and can cause inaccurate results and conclusion in solar *** this paper,a new time-frequency decomposition approach based on synchrosqueezing transform（SST） is *** built a synthetic signal and used an echolocation pulse of a bat to illustrate the performance of the SST approach to the ***,the sunspot number fluctuations（SNF） was analyzed with the SST,and several new periods are extracted that fail to found with the EMD *** result demonstrates that the SST can accurately decompose those intrinsic cycles of SNF,and better understand the phenomenon of solar activity.

Thermal induced interdiffusion in InAs/GaAs quantum dot superlattices is studied by high-resolution x-ray diffraction rocking curve and photoluminescence *** increasing annealing temperature,up to 300 meV a blueshift of the emission peak position and down to 16.6 meV a narrowing of the line width are found in photoluminescence spectra,and respective intensity of the higher-order satellite peaks to lower-order ones in the x-ray rocking curves *** theory is employed to simulate the measured x-ray diffraction *** agreement between the experimental curves and the simulations is achieved when the composition,thickness and stress variations caused by interdiffusion are taken into *** is found that the significant In-Ga intermixing occurs even in the as-grown InAs/GaAs quantum *** estimated diffusion coefficient is 1.8 × 10^(-17)cm^(2)·s^(-1) at 650℃,3.2 × 10^(-17)cm^(2)·s^(-1) at 750℃,and 1.2× 10^(-14)cm^(2)·s^(-1) at 850℃.
