Exercise preconditioning alleviates ischemia-induced memory deficits by increasing circulating adiponectin

Cerebral ischemia is a major health risk that requires preventive approaches in addition to drug *** exercise enhances neurogenesis and synaptogenesis,and has been widely used for functional rehabilitation after *** this study,we determined whether exercise training before disease onset can alleviate the severity of cerebral *** also examined the role of exercise-induced circulating factors in these *** mice were subjected to 14 days of treadmill exercise training before surgery for middle cerebral artery *** found that this exercise pre-conditioning strategy effectively attenuated brain infarct area,inhibited gliogenesis,protected synaptic proteins,and improved novel object and spatial memory *** analysis showed that circulating adiponectin plays a critical role in these preventive effects of *** activation of adiponectin receptors by Adipo Ron mimicked the effects of exercise,while inhibiting receptor activation abolished the exercise *** summary,our results suggest a crucial role of circulating adiponectin in the effects of exercise pre-conditioning in protecting against cerebral ischemia and supporting the health benefits of exercise.

Template-free Fabrication and Luminescent Characterization of Highly Uniform and Monodisperse y_2O_2s:sm^(3+) Hollow submicrospheres

Well dispersed and homogeneous y2O2s：sm3＋ hollow submicrospheres were successfully achieved by a template- free solvothermal method combining with a postcalcining process. The crystalstructure and particle morphology were investigated by the X-ray diffraction （XRD）, Fourier transform infrared （FT-IR） spectra, scanning and transmission electron microscopy （sEM and TEM）, respectively. A possible growth mechanism was proposed to reveal the formation process. Luminescence properties of the y202s：sm3＋ long-lasting phosphor were an- alyzed by measuring the excitation spectra, emission spectra, afterglow decay curve and thermoluminescence curve. The excitation spectra indicated that the phosphor could be excited effectively by the ultraviolet-light emitting diode （UV-LED） or blue LED, and the emission spectra showed that the phosphor could emit red light from 600 to 650 nm.

Ren-integrable and ren-symmetric integrable systems

A new type of symmetry,ren-symmetry,describing anyon physics and corresponding topological physics,is ***-symmetry is a generalization of super-symmetry which is widely applied in super-symmetric physics such as super-symmetric quantum mechanics,super-symmetric gravity,super-symmetric string theory,super-symmetric integrable systems and so *** and Grassmann numbers are,in some sense,dual conceptions,and it turns out that these conceptions coincide for the ren situation,that is,a similar conception of ren-number(R-number)is devised for *** particular,some basic results of the R-number and ren-symmetry are exposed which allow one to derive,in principle,some new types of integrable systems including ren-integrable models and ren-symmetric integrable *** examples of ren-integrable KdV-type systems and ren-symmetric KdV equations are explicitly given.

Effect of site amplification on inelastic seismic response

The available models for eff ective periods of site and structure are reviewed in context of frequency tuning in the inelastic seismic response of soil-structure system. The eff ect of seismic intensity and ductility demand, on the eff ective periods, is investigated, and inelastic site amplifi cation is shown to be strongly correlated to the normalized eff ective period. Two non-dimensional parameters, analogous to the conventional site amplifi cation factors in codes, are defi ned to quantify the inelastic site amplifi cation. It is shown that the inelastic site amplifi cation factor (i.e. ratio of constant ductility spectral ordinates at soil site to those at rock outcrop) is able to represent the site eff ects more clearly, as compared to the inelastic site amplifi cation ratio (i.e. ratio of inelastic spectral ordinates at soil site to the corresponding elastic spectral ordinates at rock outcrop). Further, the peak in the amplifi cation factor corresponding to the eff ective site period diminishes rapidly with increasing ductility demand.

A hyperbolic Lindstedt-Poincare method is presented to determine the homoclinic solutions of a kind of nonlinear oscillators, in which critical value of the homoclinic bifurcation parameter can be determined. The generalized Lienard oscillator is studied in detail, and the present method＇s predictions are compared with those of Runge-Kutta method to illustrate its accuracy.

Effect of Temperature on Material Transfer Behavior at Different stages of Friction stir Welded 7075-T6 Aluminum Alloy

In this work, the morphologies of weld of 7075-T6 aluminum alloy via friction stir welding （FsW） were analyzed by optical microscopy, the temperature field was attained by numerical simulation, and the effect of temperature on material transfer behavior in the thermal-mechanical affected zone （TMAZ） at different stages was mainly investigated. The FsW process consists of three stages. It is very interesting to find that the maximum transfer displacement of material appears at the final stage of welding process, then at the stable stage and at the initial stage, which results from the difference of peak temperatures at different stages. At any stage, the material in TMAZ near the surface of weld transfers downwards, the material in the middle of weld moves upwards and the material near the bottom of weld hardly moves. In any cross section of weld, the largest transfer displacement of material appears in the middle of weld. The increase of rotational velocity and the decrease of welding speed are both beneficial to the transfer displacement of material in the middle of weld.

Multi-place nonlocal systems have attracted attention from many *** this paper,we mainly review the recent progresses on two-place nonlocal systems(Alice-Bob systems)and four-place nonlocal ***-place systems can firstly be derived from many physical problems by using a multiple scaling method with a discrete symmetry group including parity,time reversal,charge conjugates,rotations,field reversal and exchange *** nonlocal systems can also be derived from the symmetry reductions of coupled nonlinear systems via discrete symmetry *** the other hand,to solve multi-place nonlocal systems,one can use the symmetry-antisymmetry separation approach related to a suitable discrete symmetry group,such that the separated systems are coupled local *** using the separation method,all the known powerful methods used in local systems can be applied to nonlocal *** this review article,we take two-place and four-place nonlocal nonlinear schr?dinger(NLs)systems and Kadomtsev-Petviashvili(KP)equations as simple examples to explain how to derive and solve *** types of novel physical and mathematical points related to the nonlocal systems are especially emphasized.

Neumann＇s method for boundary problems of thin elastic shells

The possibility of using Neumann＇s method to solve the boundary problems for thin elastic shells is studied. The variational statement of the static problems for the shells allows for a problem examination within the distribution space. The convergence of Neumann＇s method is proven for the shells with holes when the boundary of the domain is not completely fixed. The numerical implementation of Neumann＇s method normally requires significant time before any reliable results can be achieved. This paper suggests a way to improve the convergence of the process, and allows for parallel computing and evaluation during the calculations.

Cyclic stress-controlled tests on offshore clay

One of the main concerns in cyclic behavior of soft clay is gradual degradation with the progression of loading cycle.A series of cyclic constant-volume direct simple shear(CDss) loading tests was performed on Malaysia offshore clay to study its undrained *** testing program consists of stresscontrolled tests with cyclic shear ratio ranging from 0.34 to 0.83 at different overconsolidation ratios(OCRs).For a given cyclic stress ratio in stress-controlled tests,the accumulated cyclic strain and pore water pressure increase with elevated number of *** heavily overconsolidated clay specimens,the negative cyclic pore water pressure is generated followed by positive cyclic pore water pressure as cyclic tests *** post-cyclic strength of offshore clay specimens is reduced by undrained cyclic stresscontrolled loading.
