This study was focused on developing concrete using alkali-activated copper slag(AACS)as a *** properties of alkali-activated copper slag concrete(AACSC)were compared with portland cement concrete(pCC).Different AACSC mixes were prepared with varying Na_(2)O dosage(6%and 8%of the binder by weight)and curing *** products in AACSC were retrieved using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and X-ray powder diffraction(XRD)*** test results indicate that the workability of AACSC was lesser than that of *** AACSC mix with 6%Na_(2)O dosage has exhibited similar mechanical properties as that of *** mechanical properties of AACSC were higher than pCC when 8%of Na_(2)O dosage was *** curing was effective to upgrade the strength properties of AACSC at an early age of curing,but at a later age mechanical properties of ambient cured and heat-cured AACSC were *** hydration products of AACSC were not identified in XRD patterns,whereas,in FTIR spectra of AACSC some alkali-activated reaction products were *** AACSC mixes were found to be more sustainable than *** has been concluded that AACSC can be produced similarly to that of pCC and ambient curing is sufficient.

Temporal and spectral characteristics of X-ray emission from 60 flares of intensity ≥C class observed by the Solar X-ray Spectrometer （SOXS） during 2003-2011 are presented. We analyze the X-ray emission observed in four and three energy bands by the Si and Cadmium-Zinc-Telluride （CZT） detectors, respectively. The number of peaks in the intensity profile of the flares varies between 1 and 3. We find moderate correlation （R ~=0.2） between the rise time and the peak flux of the first peak of the flare irrespective of energy band, which is indicative of its energy-independent nature. Moreover, the magnetic field complexity of the flaring region is found to be highly anti-correlated （R = 0.61） with the rise time of the flares while positively correlated （R = 0.28） with the peak flux of the flare. The time delay between the peak of the X-ray emission in a given energy band and that in 25-30keV decreases with increasing energy, suggesting conduction cooling is dominant in the lower energies. Analysis of 340 spectra from 14 flares reveals that the peak of differential emission measure （DEM） evolution is delayed by 60-360 s relative to that of the temperature, and this time delay is inversely proportional to the peak flux of the flare. We conclude that temporal and intensity characteristics of flares are dependent on energy as well as the magnetic field configuration of the active region.

Undoped, Dy^3＋ doped and Dy^3＋, K^＋ codoped calcium molybdate phosphors have been synthesized by solid-state reaction method. X-ray diffraction studies reveal the tetragonal structure of the prepared phosphors having crystallite size 15-50 nm. Scanning electron microscopy （SEM） studies reveal the morphology and crystallite size of the prepared phosphors. photoluminescence studies indicate that there are blue and yellow emissions at 489 and 576 nm, respectively corresponding to Dy^3＋ ion. The introduction of K＋ ion significantly influences the blue and yellow emissions which causes the near white light emission from this codoped phosphor. The intense absorption peak of the codoped phosphor at 210 nm is attributed to the band gap and a shoulder at 240 nm appears due to charge transfer from oxygen ions to neighbouring molybdenum ions. The band gap of the codoped phosphor is calculated as 5.5 eV from the absorption studies. The reflection of three-dimensional(3D) plane waves in a highly anisotropic(triclinic) medium under the context of generalized thermoelasticity is studied. The thermoelastic nature of the 3D plane waves in an anisotropic medium is investigated in the perspective of the three-phase-lag(TpL), dual-phase-lag(DpL), Green-Naghdi-III(GNIII), Lord-Shulman(LS), and classical coupled(CL) theories. The reflection coefficients and energy ratios for all the reflected waves are obtained in a mathematical form. The rotational effects on the reflection characteristics of the 3D waves are discussed under the context of generalized thermoelasticity. Comparative analyses for the reflection coefficients of the waves among these generalized thermoelastic theories are performed. The energy ratios for each of the reflected waves establish the energy conservation law in the reflection phenomena of the plane waves. The highly anisotropic materials along with the rotation may have a significant role in the phenomenon of the reflection behavior of the 3D waves. Numerical computations are performed for the graphical representation of the study.

propagation of Rayleigh-type surface waves in an incompressible visco-elastic material over incompressible visco-elastic semi-infinite media under the effect of initial stresses is discussed. The dispersion equation is determined to study the effect of differ- ent types of parameters such as inhomogeneity, initial stress, wave number, phase velocity, damping factor, visco-elasticity, and incompressibility on the Rayleigh-type wave prop- agation. It is found that the affecting parameters have a significant effect on the wave propagation. Cardano＇s and Ferrari＇s methods are deployed to estimate the roots of dif- ferential equations associated with layer and semi-infinite media. The MATHEMATICA software is applied to explicate the effect of these parameters graphically.

The interactions of La（ Ⅲ ）, pr（ Ⅲ ）, Nd（ Ⅲ ）, Sm（ Ⅲ ）, Eu（Ⅲ）, Gd（ Ⅲ ）, Dy（ Ⅲ ）, and Yb（ Ⅲ ） with cytosine, 5-bromocytosine, 5-azacytosine and 5-flurocytosine as primary ligands （L） and guanine （A） as secondary ligand for both binary （ 1 ： 1 ） as well as ternary （ 1 ： 1 ： 1 ） systems were investigated by potentiometric equilibrium measurements at 25, 35 and 45 ℃ in aqueous solution （ionic strength, μ = 0.1 mol·dm^-3 NaNO3）. The stability constants of the binary （ 1 ： 1 ） and ternary （ 1 ： 1 ： 1 ） metal-ligand complexes follow the following order La 〈 pr 〈 Nd 〈 Sm 〈 Eu 〉 Gd 〈 Dy 〉 Yb. Results also indicate that the ternary lanthanide complexes of La（Ⅲ）, pr（Ⅲ）, Nd（Ⅲ）, Sm（Ⅲ）, Eu（Ⅲ）, Gd（Ⅲ）, Dy（Ⅲ）, and Yb（ Ⅲ ） are more stable than corresponding binary lanthanide complexes. The enthalpy （△Hf^o） and entropy （△Sf^o） changes for the formation of binary and ternary complexes were calculated from temperature coefficient data. The △△Sf^o values are positive for all the metal ligand systems. The negative △△Hf^o values indicate the extra stability of the ternary complexes by the exothermic enthalpy changes （△△Sf^o = △TSf^o - △BSf^o and △△Hf^o = △THf^o - △BHf^o where △TSf^o, △THf^o and △BSf^o, △BHf^o are the entropy and enthalpy values associated with the ternary and binary complexes, respectively）. It was also proposed that the guanine is bonded to metal ions through N1/C6 = O and N7 whereas cytosine and its derivatives are bonded through N3 atoms in ternary complexes.
