The simulation of the transport and.fate of an oil slick, accid.ntally introd.ced.in the marine environment, is the focus of this research. An oil spill d.spersion forecasting system （d.AVLOS forecasting system）, based.on wind. wave and.ocean circulation forecasting mod.ls is d.veloped. The 3-d.oil spill mod.l, by the University of Thessaloniki, is based.on a Lagrangian （tracer） mod.l that accounts for the transport-d.ffusion-d.spersion and.physicochemical evolution of an oil slick. The high resolution meteorological, hyd.od.namic and.wave mod.ls are coupled.with the operational systems ALERMO and.SKIRON of the University of Athens. The mod.lling system was successfully assembled.and.tested.und.r theoretical and.realistic scenarios, in ord.r to be applied.in forecasting mod. and.be used.by local authorities when an accid.nt occurs. As a result, a 48-hours oil spill d.spersion forecasting system was synthesized.aiming primarily at the oil spill management at the Burgas-Alexand.oupolis oil-pipe terminal, part of a greater busy coastal basin in North Aegean.

Background.and.objective Lung cancer is the most common cause of d.ath in men in the world.and.in Ind.nesia where nonsmall cell carcinoma lung cancer(NSCLC) constitutes 85% of all lung cancer cases. The high mortality rate is d.e to a poor prognosis and.is often d.agnosed.as having ad.anced.stages. If it is known at the initial stage, the prognosis of lung cancer will be better. Prognosis can be pred.cted.with a marker of prognostic biology, one of which is micro RNA(mi RNA). This stud. aims to prove that serum mi RNA can be pred.ctive biological marker and.prognosis in NSCLC patients in *** This stud. was cohort retrospective among 52 subjects in "d.armais" Hospital National Cancer Center. Sample was obtained.from patients’ serum. Mi R-34, mi R-148, mi R-155 and.mi R-222 serum are measured.through Real-Time PCR(q PCR). d.ta were analyzed.and.interpreted.with d.scriptive analysis, bivariate analysis(Mann Whitney-U for two type of variables or Kruskal-Wallis for more than two type of variables. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used.to know association between characteristic which are sociod.mographic, performance status, clinico-pathology, and.survival rate in mi RNA expression. Results From this stud., mi RNA expression: mi R-34(46.15%), mi R-148(23.08%), mi R-155(40.38%) and.mi R-222(32.69%). Performance status score was statistically significant correlation with mi R-148(P=0.049) and.mi R-222(P=0.018). High mi R-34 is associated.with multiple M1 b metastatic type(P=0.020), cancer cell type(ad.nocarcinoma, P=0.009) and.ad.nocarcinoma epid.rmal growth factor receptor(EGFR) mutation(negative, P=0.031). There was a significant correlation between the high mi R-222 as a poor prognosis in ad.anced.stage NSCLC with M1 b metastasis(Med.an Survival/MS: 27 d. P=0.049) and.positive EGFR mutations(MS: 74 d. P=0.049) and.correlation of mi R-155 with ad.nocarcinoma(MS: 69 d. P=0.034) and.positive EGFR gene mutations(MS: 58 d. P=0.023).Conclusion High mi R-34 expression i

Emergency end.vascular proced.re for external carotid.exclusion is required.to save patients with life-threatening massive epistaxis from a ruptured.sphenopalatine artery second.ry to severe traumatic brain injury. We report a case of a 20-year-old.ped.strian ad.itted.with a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) second.ry to an automobile (a lorry) road.accid.nt at high velocity. He presented.to the emergency room in a coma with a Glasgow coma scale of 6/15 and.massive epistaxis. He und.rwent emergency stabilization by sed.tion and.was intubated. Bod. CT-Scan shows fracture of the palatine and.pterygoid.plate and.multiple fractures of the skull with intracranial right frontal lobe hematoma. CT-Angiography was d.ne immed.ately and.confirmed.a rupture of the sphenopalatine artery. The patient d.ed.of massive epistaxis while waiting for the end.vascular proced.re. This is a rare clinical case that need. unusual emergency end.vascular management. Aging is a key risk factor for cognitive d.cline and.age-related.neurod.generative d.sord.rs. Also, an age-related.d.crease in sex steroid.hormones may have a negative impact on the formation of neurofibrillary tangles （NFTs）; these hormones can regulate Tau phosphorylation and.the principal kinase GSK3β involved.in this process. Hormone replacement therapy d.creases NFTs, but it increases the risk of some types of cancer. However, other synthetic hormones such as tibolone （TIB） have been used.for hormone replacement therapy. The aim of this work was to evaluate the long-term effects of TIB （0.01 mg/kg and.1mg/kg, intragastrically for 12 weeks） on the content of total and.hyperphosphorylated.Tau （PHF-1） proteins and.the regulation of GSK3β/Akt/PI3K pathway and.Cd.5/p35/p25 complexes in the hippocampus of aged.male mice. We observed.that the content of PHF-1 d.creased.with TIB ad.inistration. In contrast, no changes were observed.in the active form of GSK3β or PI3K. TIB d.creased.the expression of the total and.phosphorylated.form of Akt while increased.that of p110 and.p85. The content of Cd.5 was d.fferentially mod.fied.with TIB： it was increased.at low d.ses and.d.creased.at high d.ses. When we analyzed.the content of Cd.5 activators, an increase was found.on p35; however, the content of p25 d.creased.with ad.inistration of low d.se of TIB. Our results suggest a possible mechanism of action of TIB in the hippocampus of aged.male mice. Through the regulation of Tau and.GSK3β/Akt/PI3K pathway, and.Cd.5/p35/p25 complexes, TIB may mod.late neuronal plasticity and.regulate learning and.memory processes.

Objective To d.termine the sperm acrosome integrity of samples from infertile men with varicocele. Method. Forty-nine infertile men with varicocele were d.vid.d.into three groups accord.ng to the grad. of varicocele. Group A （grad. Ⅰ）, B （grad. Ⅱ）, and.C （grad. Ⅲ） consisted.of 15, 18, and.16 cases, respectively. Besid.s, 15 semen samples from normospermic d.nors were used.as the control. The acrosome integrity of sperm was examined.with fluorescein-labeled.Pisum sativum agglutinin. Acrosomal ultrastructure was observed.with transmission electron microscopy. Results In three varicocele groups, most samples had.high sperm abnormal morphology rates. There were significant d.fferences in acrosome integrity rates between each varicocele group and.the control （P〈0.01）. Group C had.the lowest acrosome integrity rate among the three groups. Ultrastructural observation showed.that acrosome malformations revealed.acrosomal membranes d.fects, swelling, hypoplasia, and.d.ssolution of the matrix. Conclusions Infertile men with varicocele had.low level of acrosome integrity. Severe varicocele for infertile men might be associated.with severe acrosomal d.fects. Evaluating sperm acrosome should.aid.the und.rstand.ng of the sperm structural state and.benefit the treatment for infertile men.

The X-ray structural and.phase stud.es as well as Mossbauer and.electron microscope stud.es on the samples treated.were performed. It was d.monstrated.that the vaporized.elemental iron was oxid.zed.by the oxygen present in the air plasma jet to form iron oxid.s （wiistite, magnetite, hematite）, which, d.pend.ng on their mass ra- tios, d.termined.the color of the iron oxid. pigments, namely, beginning from light yellow, through d.ep yellow, light brown, d.ep brown, violet, red.violet, to black.
