Chaos-based encryption for fractal image coding

A chaos-based cryptosystem for fractal image coding is proposed. The Renyi chaotic map is employed to determine the order of processing the range blocks and to generate the keystream for masking the encoded sequence. Compared with the standard approach of fraetal image coding followed by the Advanced Encryption Standard, our scheme offers a higher sensitivity to both plaintext and ciphertext at a comparable operating efficiency. The keystream generated by the Renyi chaotic map passes the randomness tests set by the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology, and so the proposed scheme is sensitive to the key.

Microalgae are unicellular photosynthetic microorganisms that are commonly found in saline or freshwater *** the years,microalgae represent promising sources of sustainable bioactivities with past literatures reflecting a growing interest in algae-based dietary supplements in the form of whole ***,the bioactive molecules that can be identified and extracted in microalgae have scientifically proven to contain therapeutic properties which can be beneficial to human *** the increasing occurrence of global health threats such as antimicrobial resistance and cancer,this has resulted in considerable attention for microalgae study especially in the medicinal *** studies have proved the therapeutic potentials of high-value bioproducts in microalgae,however,there is still room to understand their potential therapeutic properties on humans’health,discovering novel microalgae-derived bioactive compounds,as well as translating the lab-based evidence to clinical trial *** review will focus on accessing the biochemical compositions of commercialised microalgae species from 2007 to 2020,and the activity of their biologically active molecules in eliciting selected therapeutic potentials which are anti-oxidative,anti-inflammatory,anti-microbial and anti-cancer *** review article will also be looking at the research gaps in addition to the above four major selected therapeutic potentials,and future prospective.

We present the first numerical solution that corresponds to a pair of Cho–Maison monopoles and antimonopoles(MAPs) in the SU(2) × U(1) Weinberg–Salam(WS) *** monopoles are finitely separated,while each pole carries a magnetic charge ±4π/*** positive pole is situated in the upper hemisphere,whereas the negative pole is in the lower *** Cho–Maison MAP is investigated for a range of Weinberg angles,0.4675≤ tan θ_(W)≤10,and Higgs self-coupling,0 ≤ β ≤ *** magnetic dipole moment(μm) and pole separation(d_(z)) of the numerical solutions are calculated and *** total energy of the system,however,is infinite due to point singularities at the locations of monopoles.

The purpose of this paper is to propose and study a class of quasi-interpolating operators in multivariate spline space S-1/2(Delta(mn)(2*)) on non-uniform type-2 triangulation. Based on the operators, we construct cubature formula for two-dimensional hypersingular integrals. Some computing work have been done and the results are quite satisfactory.

AIM: To compare quality of life (QoL) outcomes in Chinese patients after curative laparoscopic vs open surgery for rectal cancer. METHODS: Eligible Chinese patients with rectal cancer undergoing curative laparoscopic or open sphincterpreserving resection between July 2006 and July 2008 were enrolled in this prospective study. The QoL outcomes were assessed longitudinally using the validated Chinese versions of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer QLQ-C30 and QLQCR38 questionnaires before surgery and at 4, 8, and 12 mo after surgery. The QoL scores at the different time points were compared between the laparoscopic and open groups. A higher score on a functional scale indicated better functioning, whereas a higher score on a symptom scale indicated a higher degree of ***: Seventy-four patients (49 laparoscopic and 25 open) were enrolled. The two groups of patients were comparable in terms of sociodemographic data, types of surgery, tumor staging, and baseline mean QoL scores. There was no significant decrease from baseline in global QoL for the laparoscopic group at different time points, whereas the global QoL was worse compared to baseline beginning at 4 mo but returned to baseline by 12 mo for the open group (P = 0.019, Friedman test). Compared to the open group, the laparoscopic group had significantly better physical (89.9±1.4 vs 79.2±3.7, P = 0.016), role (85.0±3.4 vs 63.3±6.9, P = 0.005), and cognitive (73.5±3.4 vs 50.7±6.2, P = 0.002) functioning at 8 mo, fewer micturition problems at 4-8 mo (4 mo: 32.3±4.7 vs 54.7±7.1, P = 0.011; 8 mo: 22.8±4.0 vs 40.7±6.9, P = 0.020), and fewer male sexual problems from 8 mo onward (20.0±8.5 vs 76.7±14.5, P = 0.013). At 12 mo after surgery, no significant differences were observed in any functional or symptom scale between the two groups, with the exception of male sexual problems, which remained worse in the open group (29.2±11.3 vs 80.0±9.7, P = 0.026). Drug-resistant varieties of pathogens are now a recognized global threat. Insights into the routes for drug resistance in these pathogens are critical for developing more effective antibacterial drugs. A systems-level analysis of the genes, proteins, and interactions involved is an important step to gaining such insights. This paper discusses some of the computational challenges that must be surmounted to enable such an analysis; viz., unreliability of bacterial interactome maps, paucity of bacterial interactome maps, and identification of pathways to bacterial drug resistance.

BACKGROUND Liver transplantation(LT) is regarded as the best treatment for both primary and recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Post-transplant HCC recurrence rate is relatively low but significant, ranging from 10%-30% according to different series. When recurrence happens, it is usually extrahepatic and associated with poor prognosis. A predictive model that allows patient stratification according to recurrence risk can help to individualize post-transplant surveillance protocol and guidance of the use of anti-tumor immunosuppressive *** To develop a scoring system to predict HCC recurrence after LT in an Asian *** Consecutive patients having LT for HCC from 1995 to 2016 at our hospital were recruited. They were randomized into the training set and the validation set in a60:40 ratio. Multivariable Cox regression model was used to identity factors associated with HCC recurrence. A risk score was assigned to each factor according to the odds ratio. Accuracy of the score was assessed by the area under the receiver operating characteristic *** In total, 330 patients were eligible for analysis(183 in training and 147 invalidation). Recurrent HCC developed in 14.2% of them. The median follow-up duration was 65.6 mo. The 5-year disease-free and overall survival rates were78% and 80%, respectively. On multivariate analysis, alpha-fetoprotein > 400 ng/mL [P = 0.012, hazard ratio(HR) 2.92], sum of maximum tumor size and number(P = 0.013, HR 1.15), and salvage LT(P = 0.033, HR 2.08) were found to be independent factors for disease-free survival. A risk score was calculated for each patient with good discriminatory power(c-stat 0.748 and 0.85, respectively,in the training and validation sets).
