One of the most dangerous safety hazard in underground coal mines is roof falls during retreat *** falls may cause life-threatening and non-fatal injuries to miners and impede mining and transportation *** a result,a reliable roof fall prediction model is essential to ta.k.e such *** parameters that substantially impact roof falls are ill-defined and intangible,making this an uncertain and challenging research *** National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health assembled a national database of roof performance from 37 coal mines to explore the factors contributing to roof *** acquired for 37 mines is limited due to several restrictions,which increased the likelihood of *** logic is a technique for coping with ambiguity,incompleteness,and ***,In this paper,the fuzzy inference method is presented,which employs a genetic algorithm to create fuzzy rules based on 109 records of roof fall data and pattern search to refine the membership functions of *** performance of the deployed model is evaluated using statistical measures such as the Root-Mean-Square Error,Mean-Absolute-Error,and coefficient of determination(R_(2)).Based on these criteria,the suggested model outperforms the existing models to precisely predict roof fall rates using fewer fuzzy rules.

Purpose: This review article provides the readers with an in-depth insight in understanding and interpreting various research literatures on the masseter vestibular evoked myogenic potentials(mVEMP). The article also reviews the contemporary researches involving the clinical applications of the mVEMP. Conclusions: Masseter VEMP is an evolving yet clinically promising neuro-otology test tool that has recently gained more research interest and is considered an additional tool to diagnose various vestibular disorders. Masseter VEMP assesses the functional integrity of the acoustic-masseteric and vestibulo-masseteric reflex pathways. The mVEMP could be used as a complementary test to evaluate the same peripheral generator as the cervical VEMP but a different central pathway i.e., vestibulo-trigeminal pathway. Various research studies that have experimented on parameters such as the effect of different electrode montages(zygomatic vs mandibular configurations), stimulation rates, filter settings and stimuli used to evoke mVEMP have been discussed in this article that could assist in the optimization of a comprehensive clinical protocol. The latency and the amplitude of mVEMP waveforms serve as significant parameters in differentiating normals from those of the clinical populations. Along with the cVEMPs and oVEMPs, mVEMP might help diagnose brainstem lesions in REM Sleep behaviour disorders, Multiple Sclerosis and Pa.k.nson's disease. However, further studies are required to probe in this area of research.

Ba.k.round Polyglactin(PG)and polydioxanone(PDS)sutures are extensively used based on the surgeon's *** development of post-reconstruction urethrocutaneous fistula(UCF)is variably attributed to the choice of suture material for *** meta-an alysiscompares complications of hypospadia srepair using PGand PDS *** The systematic review and meta-analysis were performed as per the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses *** authors conducted thorough searches in databases including MEDLINE,EMBASE,CENTRAL,Scopus,Google Scholar,and clinical trial *** measures included UCF,meatal stenosis,wound infection,urethral stricture,glans dehiscence,and overall *** analysis was used with fixed or random-effect models to find the pooled risk ratio and I2 *** The criteria for inclusion were met by five comparative studies with the inclusion of 1244 children *** analysis failed to show a statistically significant difference in the incidence of meatal stenosis,urethral stricture,wound infection,and total complications using PG and PDS ***,it showed a reduction in the incidence of UCF with PDS suture hypospadias repairs(risk ratio=0.66,95%Cl 0.48 to 0.92).Conclusions PDS sutures are associated with decreased incidence of UCF than PG after hypospadias *** incidence of meatal stenosis,urethral stricture,wound infection,and total complications was not affected by the type of suture material used for *** implications This meta-analysis suggests decreased incidence of UCF when PDS sutures are used for hypospadias repair which may impact the choice of suturematerialforrepair.

Aim: To assess the reproducibility of, and determine normative data for, flow volume measurements from the right common carotid artery (CCA) and its relation to left ventricular output (LVO) in stable term and preterm babies using Doppler ultrasound. Methods: Right CCA flow volume was measured using a near focus, hig h frequency transducer by obtaining intensity weighted mean velocity and right C CA diameter. LVO was determined using standard Doppler techniques. Reproducibili ty studies were performed on 30 newborn infants by two observers. Normative data were obtained from 40 spontaneously bre athing preterm babies and 21 term babies. Results: The intraobserver coefficient of variation for CCA flow measurements was 10.5%for observer 1 and 15.4%for o bserver 2, whereas the interobserver coefficient of variation was 16.4%. In ter m and preterm infants, right CCA flow was about 20 ml/kg/min, accounting for 11 %of cardiac output. Among the preterm infants, there was a positive correlation of right CCA flow with gestation (r = 0.61, p kg body weight. Conclusions: It is possible to perform reprodu cible measurements of flow volume in the CCA of newborn infants. In stable, spon taneously breathing babies, both cardiac output and carotid flow increased with gestation and body weight. The proportion of cardiac output distributed to the r ight CCA remained relatively constant across gestation.
