Mutations in the protocadherin-19(PcDH19)gene(Xq22.1)cause the X-linked syndrome known as developmental and epileptic encephalopathy 9(DEE9,OMIM#300088)(Dibbens et al.,2008).DEE9 is characterized by early-onset clustering epilepsy associated with intellectual disability ranging from mild to profound,autism spectrum disorder,and other neuropsychiatric features including schizophrenia,anxiety,attentiondeficit/hyperactivity,and obsessive or aggressive *** seizures may become less frequent in adolescence,psychiatric comorbidities persist and often worsen with age(Dibbens et al.,2008;Kolc et al.,2020).

Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection is a wellestablished risk factor for the development of gastric cancer(Gc), one of the most common and deadliest neoplasms worldwide. H. pylori infection induces chronic inflammation in the gastric mucosa that, in the absence of treatment, may progress through a series of steps to Gc. Gc is only one of several clinical outcomes associated with this bacterial infection, which may be at least partially attributed to the high genetic variability of H. pylori. The biological mechanisms underlying how and under what circumstances H. pylori alters normal physiological processes remain enigmatic. A key aspect of carcinogenesis is the acquisition of traits that equip preneoplastic cells with the ability to invade. Accumulating evidence implicates H. pylori in the manipulation of cellular and molecular programs that are crucial for conferring cells with invasive capabilities. We present here an overview of the main findings about the involvement of H. pylori in the acquisition of cell invasive behavior, specifically focusing on the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, changes in cell polarity, and deregulation of molecules that control extracellular matrix remodeling.

Durability and reliability have been studied for decades through intensive trial-error ***,there are numerous fields of application where the costs associated with this approach are not *** lubricated machines with severe dynamic loads,such as high-power-density engines,simulation tools offer clear advantages over intensive *** and multiple scenarios can be cost-effectively simulated to assess different lubricants and engine *** work presented here details the study of wear based on a validated elastohydrodynamic(EHD)simulation model of the connecting rod journal *** model accounts for elastic deformation through a connecting rod finite element model(FEM).In addition,multiple lubricant rheological and tribological dependences,determined by specific experimental tests,are applied in the model through their interaction with the simulation ***,a novel wear algorithm is proposed to predict wear depth over time evolution along a proposed wear cycle based on the typical working ranges of high-performance engines.A final assessment is presented to compare 4 different ultralow-viscosity lubricants in their protective performance under severe *** results show the evolution of the wear load and wear depth over the wear *** evaluation is key to describing a lubricant selection procedure for high-power-density engines.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a common degenerative vascular disease with a prevalence up to 8% in males over 60 years of age.1 This is a complex disorder characterized by permanent and focal dilation of abdominal aorta that exceeds at least 50% of the normal diameter. In these patients, the aortic diameter progressively expands boosted by smoking and aging as major risk factors. Unfortunately, aneurysm growth increases the risk of aortic rupture, a life-threatening emergency that carries a mortality rate of 80%. Despite the increasing effort of the scientific community to identify therapeutic strategies for AAA, there are currently no pharmacological tools that ameliorate aneurysm expansion, while the underlying mechanisms involved in this disease are not completely understood.

Granular materials composed of different-sized grains may experience undesired *** is detrimental for a lot of industries because it leads to an increase in production costs and *** these reasons,the segregation phenomena have been intensively studied in the last decades,and a lot of models have been provided by many ***,these models are mainly based on empirical relations rather than physical *** paper aims to confirm the main assumptions made by Volpato,Tirapelle,and Santomaso(2020)in their percolation theory by means of DEM *** simulated geometry is a tilting shear box filled with few tracer particles in a bed of coarser sized grains,and simulations are performed for a range of tilting frequencies and size *** results provide meaningful insight on the mathematical model parameters and allow us to say that the percolation theory relies on physically consistent assumptions.

Background and Aims:Hepatitis B virus(HBV)biomark-ers have been used for a better categorization of patients,even though the lack of simple algorithms and the impact of genotypes limit their *** aim was to assess the usefulness of noninvasive markers for the identification of HBV inactive carriers(Ics)in a single-point evaluation and to design a predictive model for their ***-ods:This retrospective-prospective study included 343 consecutive HBeAg-negative ***,analytical,and virological data were collected,and a liver biopsy was performed if *** were classified at the end of follow-up as Ics,chronic hepatitis B and gray zone.A pre-dictive model was constructed,and validated by 1000-boot-strap ***:After 39 months of follow-up,298 subjects were Ics,36 were chronic hepatitis B cHB,and nine were gray ***-nine(25.9%)individuals re-quired a liver *** HBV DNA hazard ratio(HR)6.0,pcore-related antigen(HBcrAg)(HR 6.5,pciated with the Ic *** AcE score(HBV DNA,HBcrAg,elastography),obtained by bootstrapping,yielded an area under the receiver operating characteris-tics(AUROc)of 0.925(95%cI:0.880-0.970,pcation of *** AUROc for genotype D was 0.95,0.96 for A,0.90 for E,and 0.88 for H/*** AcE score ofctive value of 99.5%,and a score≤12 points had a diagnostic accuracy of 93.8%.conclusions:Low baseline HBV DNA,HBcrAg,and liver stiffness were in-dependently associated with the Ic phase.A score including those variables identified Ics at a single-point evaluation,and might be applied to implement less intensive follow-up strategies.
