Detecting the nerve function of fibril in patients with cervicalspondylotic radiculopathy using quantitative sensory testing

BACKGROUND: Pain and sensory disability are greatly affected by subjective factors, there are no quantitative indexes to evaluate cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR). The judgment on clinical body examination and chief complaint always causes nonobjective results with great individual differences. Quantitative sensory testing (QST) can be used to judge the nerve function of fibril. The application of QST for the quantitative evaluation of peripheral nervous system disease needs to be further studied. OBJECTIVE: The cold-thermal sensation and pain of patients with CSR are quantitatively analyzed by using QST technology in order to evaluate the nerve function of fibril in patients with CSR. DESIGN: Case-control observation. SETTING: Pain Center of Beijing Hospital of Ministry of Health. PARTICIPANTS: Twenty patients with CSR, including 8 males and 12 females, aged from 33 to 70 years, who received treatment between January and April 2005 in Pain Center of Beijing Hospital of Ministry of Health were involved in CSR group. All the involved patients presented symptoms in unilateral upper extremity (left side 10 patients, right side 10 patients). They did not undergo physical therapy or nerve block therapy in 1 week before examination. Eight non-CSR patients who received treatment in Pain Center concurrently were involved in the control group (2 patients with trigeminal neuralgia, 4 with osteoarthrosis of knee joint and 2 with lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion), and another 12 healthy volunteers were involved. Four non-CSR patients and 12 healthy volunteers, 8 male and 12 female, were aged from 23 to 75 years. The informed consents were obtained from all the involved subjects. METHODS: The volar thresholds of cold sensation, thermal sensation, cryalgesia of thenar eminence of both upper extremities of all the subjects were examined separately by limit method with type TSA-Ⅱ temperature sensation analysator made by Medco Company (Israel). High performance sandwich structured Si thin film anodes with LiPON coating

The sandwich structured silicon thin film anodes with lithium phosphorus oxynitride （LiPON） coating are synthesized via the radio frequency magnetron sputtering method, whereas the thicknesses of both layers are in the nanometer range, i.e. between 50 and 200 nm. In this sandwich structure, the separator simultaneously functions as a flexible substrate, while the LiPON layer is regarded as a protective layer. This sandwich structure combines the advantages of flexible substrate, which can help silicon release the compressive stress, and the LiPON coating, which can provide a stable artificial solid- electrolyte interphase （SEI） film on the electrode. As a result, the silicon anodes are protected well, and the cells exhibit high reversible capacity, excellent cycling stability and good rate capability. All the results demonstrate that this sandwich structure can be a promising option for high performance Si thin film lithium ion batteries.

Reaction of CuBr2 with TabHPF6/Et3N in methanol followed by dissolving the resulting precipitate in hydrobromic acid yielded purple blocks of the title complex [Tab-Tab][CuBr4] 1 （C18H26CuBraN2S2）. 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2 1/n with a = 9.686（3）, b = 19.257（5）, c = 13.399（4） ,A, β= 93.610（9）°, V= 2494.2（13） ,A^3, Z= 4, Dc = 1.911 g/cm^3, T= 193（2） K, Mr = 717.71, F（000） = 1396,μ = 74.58 cm^-1, S = 1.126, R = 0.0748 and wR = 0.1736 for 2921 observed reflections with 1 〉 2σ（I）. The structure of 1 contains a discrete [CuBr4]^2- dianion and a [Tab-Tab]^2＋ dication. In the dianion, the Cu atom is coordinated to four Br atoms forming a distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry. The bromides of the dianion interact with the H atoms of the phenyl and methyl groups of the dications to form a 1D hydrogen-bonded chain.

Oil-mediated high-throughput generation and sorting of water-in-water droplets

Aqueous two-phase system(ATPS)droplets have demonstrated superior compatibility over conventional water-in-oil droplets for various biological ***,the ultralow interfacial tension hampers efficient and stable droplet generation,limiting further development and more extensive use of such ***,we present a simple strategy to employ oil as a transient medium for ATPS droplet *** methods based on passive flow focusing and active pico-injection are demonstrated to generate water-water-oil double emulsions,achieving a high generation frequency of~2.4 *** evaporation of the oil to break the double emulsions,the aqueous core can be released to form uniform-sized water-in-water ***,this technique can be used to fabricate aqueous microgels,and the introduction of the oil medium enables integration of droplet sorting to produce single-cell-laden hydrogels with a harvest rate of over 90%.We believe that the demonstrated high-throughput generation and sorting of ATPS droplets represent an important tool to advance droplet-based tissue engineering and single-cell analyses.

Object detection plays an important role in the sorting process of mechanical *** object detection has been studied for many years,it has always been an industrial ***-based model matching is only suitable for a small range of illumination changes,and the matching accuracy is *** optical flow method and the difference method are sensitive to noise and light,and camshift tracking is less effective in complex *** this paper,an improved target detection method based on YOLOv3-tiny is *** redundant regression box generated by the prediction network is filtered by soft nonmaximum suppression(NMS)instead of the hard decision NMS *** not only increases the size of the network structure by 52×52 and improves the detection accuracy of small targets but also uses the basic structure block MobileNetv2 in the feature extraction network,which enhances the feature extraction ability with the increased network layer and improves network *** experimental results show that the improved YOLOv3-tiny target detection algorithm improves the detection ability of bolts,nuts,screws and *** accuracy of a single type has been improved,which shows that the network greatly enhances the ability to learn objects with slightly complex *** detection result of single shape features is slightly improved,which is higher than the recognition accuracy of other *** average accuracy is increased from 0.813 to 0.839,an increase of two percentage *** recall rate is increased from 0.804 to 0.821.

Interface Reconstruction Study by Functional Scanning Probe Microscope in Li-ion Battery Research

Interfacial reaction is a critical factor of lithium ion battery, but is also complicated and difficult to characterize. Scanning probe microscope(SPM) is one of the most effective tools to reveal the interface reconstruction and interfacial properties(including the morphologies, mechanical properties and electricity properties) of energy material at nanoscale and at real time. In this paper, we briefly summarized the principles of AFM, conductive AFM(C-AFM) and Kelvin probe force microscope(KPFM), as well as their application to investigate the interface reconstruction of lithium-ion battery electrode material.

Numerical Prediction and Performance Experiment in a Deep-well Centrifugal Pump with Different Impeller Outlet Width

The existing research of the deep-well centrifugal pump mainly focuses on reduce the manufacturing cost and improve the pump performance, and how to combine above two aspects together is the most difficult and important topic. In this study, the performances of the deep-well centrifugal pump with four different impeller outlet widths are studied by the numerical, theoretical and experimental methods in this paper. Two stages deep-well centrifugal pump equipped with different impellers are simulated employing the commercial CFD software to solve the Navier-Stokes equations for three-dimensional incompressible steady flow. The sensitivity analyses of the grid size and turbulence model have been performed to improve numerical accuracy. The flow field distributions are acquired and compared under the design operating conditions, including the static pressure, turbulence kinetic energy and velocity. The prototype is manufactured and tested to certify the numerical predicted performance. The numerical results of pump performance are higher than the test results, but their change trends have an acceptable agreement with each other. The performance results indicted that the oversize impeller outlet width leads to poor pump performances and increasing shaft power. Changing the performance of deep-well centrifugal pump by alter impeller outlet width is practicable and convenient, which is worth popularizing in the engineering application. The proposed research enhances the theoretical basis of pump design to improve the performance and reduce the manufacturing cost of deep-well centrifugal pump.

CO_2 capture from binary mixture via forming hydrate with the help of tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide

Hydrate formation rate and separation effect on the capture of CO2 from binary mixture via forming hydrate with 5 wt% tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide （TBAB） solution were studied. The results showed that the induction time was 5 min, and the hydrate formation process finished in 1 h at 4.5 ℃ and 4.01 MPa. The hydrate formation rate constant reached the maximum of 1.84× 10^-7 molZ/（s.J） with the feed pressure of 7.30 MPa. The CO2 recovery was about 45 % in the feed pressure range from 4.30 to 7.30 MPa. Under the feed pressure of 4.30 MPa, the maximum separation factor and CO2 concentration in hydrate phase were 7.3 and 38.2 mol%, respectively. The results demonstrated that TBAB accelerated hydrate formation and enriched CO2 in hydrate phase under the gentle condition.
