Graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs)have attracted trem.ndous interest due to their unique properties and bonding *** study focuses on the effect of GNP dispersion on the m.chanical,therm.l,and m.rphological behavior of GNP/epoxy *** study aim. to understand how the dispersion of GNPs affects the properties of epoxy nanocom.osite and to identify the best dispersion approach for im.roving m.chanical perform.nce.A solvent m.xing technique that includes m.chanical stirring and ultrasonication was used for producing the *** transform.infrared spectroscopy was used to investigate the interaction between GNPs and the epoxy *** m.asurem.nts of density and m.isture content were used to confirm.that GNPs were successfully incorporated into the *** findings showed that GNPs are successfully dispersed in the epoxy m.trix by com.ining m.chanical stirring and ultrasonication in a single step,producing well-dispersed nanocom.osites with im.roved m.chanical ***,the nanocom.osites at a low GNP loading of 0.1 wt%,dem.nstrate superior m.chanical strength,as shown by increased tensile properties,including im.roved Young's m.dulus(1.86 GPa),strength(57.31 m.a),and elongation at break(4.98).The nanocom.osite with 0.25 wt%GNP loading perform. better,according to the viscoelastic analysis and flexural properties(113.18 m.a).Except for the nanocom.osite with a 0.5 wt%GNP loading,which has a higher therm.l breakdown tem.erature,the therm.l characteristics do not significantly *** effective dispersion of GNPs in the epoxy m.trix and low agglom.ration is confirm.d by the m.rphological *** findings help with filler selection and identifying the best dispersion approach,which im.roves m.chanical *** effective integration of GNPs and their interaction with the epoxy m.trix provides the doorway for additional investigation and the developm.nt of sophisticated *** fiel

This study describes the consequences of the ciliary m.tion on the transport of sem.nal liquid through the ductus efferentes of the m.le reproductive tract. By assum.ng the sem.nal liquid as a couple stress fluid, we have form.lated a m.them.tical m.del for a two-dim.nsional flow through an axially sym.etric tube whose inner surface is ciliated in the form.of a m.tachronal wave. The governing system.consists of nonlinear coupled partial differential equations which is reduced to a system.of ordinary differential equa- tions by utilizing the long wavelength approxim.tion in an environm.nt of the inertia free flow. Exact solutions for the velocity distribution, the pressure gradient and the stream.function are obtained in term. of the couple stress param.ters and the ciliary m.tachronism. Special attention is given to the pum.ing and the trapping characteristics due to the cilia m.tility. The study reveals that the ciliary pum.ing has to be m.re efficient to transport a couple stress fluid as com.ared to a Newtonian fluid. m.reover, the theoretical results for the couple stress fluid are found to be in good agreem.nt with those reported by IT. J. Laxdner and W. J. Shack, Cilia transport, Bull. m.th, Biophys, 34 （1972） 325-335]. The analytical results are also displayed in graphical form.

TiO_2-water nanofluid in a porous channel under the effects of an inclined m.gnetic field and variable therm.l conductivity

The TiO2-water based nanofluid flow in a channel bounded by two porous plates under an oblique m.gnetic field and variable therm.l conductivity is form.lated as a boundary-value problem.BVP). The BVP is analytically solved with the hom.topy analysis m.thod(HAm.. The result shows that the concentration of the nanoparticles is independent of the volum. fraction of TiO2nanoparticles, the m.gnetic field intensity, and the angle. It is inversely proportional to the m.ss diffusivity. The fluid speed decreases whereas the tem.erature increases when the volum. fraction of the TiO2nanoparticles increases. This confirm. the fact that the occurrence of the TiO2nanoparticles results in the increase in the therm.l transfer rate. The fluid speed decreases and the tem.erature increases for both the pure water and the nanofluid when the m.gnetic field intensity and angle increase. The m.xim.m.velocity does not exist at the m.ddle of the sym.etric channel, which is in contrast to the plane-Poiseuille flow, but it deviates a little bit towards the lower plate, which absorbs the fluid with a very low suction velocity. If this suction velocity is increased, the tem.erature in the vicinity of the lower plate will be *** explicit expression for the friction factor-Reynolds num.er is then developed. It is shown that the Hartm.nn num.er of the nanofluid is sm.ller than that of pure water,while the Nusselt num.er of the nanofluid is larger than that of pure water. However,both the param.ters increase if the m.gnetic field intensity increases.

An investigation of non-Newtonian fluid flow due to m.tachronal beating of cilia in a tube

The aim.of this study is to explain theoretically the role of ciliary m.tion on the transport of epididym.l fluid through the ductus efferentes of the m.le reproductive track. For this purpose, a m.them.tical m.del has been developed for the flow of a non-Newtonian fluid in an axisym.etric tube due to m.tachronal wave of cilia m.tion for the m.re realistic consequences. Carreau viscous fluid m.del is considered to see the rheological effects on the pum.ing characteristics of the flow. Regular perturbation m.thod has been em.loyed to obtain the analytical expressions for the stream.function, the velocity field and a relation between the pressure difference and the volum. flow rate. It is found that the volum. flow rate is influenced significantly by Weissenberg num.er We and the cilia length param.ter ε. The com.utational results are presented graphically to see the effects of various physical param.ters. Finally, the analysis is applied and com.ared with the observed value of the flow rate of sperm.tic fluid in the ductus efferentes of the m.le reproductive track. The volum. flow rate is reported closed to the estim.ted value 6 × 10^-3 m./h in the hum.n ductus efferentes when We = 0.5 and e is near by 0.25.

Aim. Few retrospective studies have evaluated infants with hypertrophic pyloric stenosis (HPS) for associated urological anom.lies. They have led to contradictory conclusions. The aim.of this study was to evaluate the incidence of urinary tract anom.lies in infants with HPS and to establish the clinical significance of this association. m.thods: One hundred and twenty-two infants (100 boys) who underwent pylorom.otom. between 1992 and 2002 were prospectively evaluated. Screening ultrasound (Us) of the urinary tract was perform.d in 107 infants, while 15 did not attend their ultrasound appointm.nt. Results: Renal ultrasound was abnorm.l in 4 (4%) of 107 screened patients with HPS. Three patients were found to have m.ld hydronephrosis and, in one patient, a sm.ll, norm.l kidney was detected. Two patients with hydronephrosis had Us follow-up and the third patient underwent Tc-99 m.rcaptoacetyl triglycine (m.G 3) scan. In all three patients, the hydronephrosis resolved com.letely on follow-up scan. Conclusion: The incidence of abnorm.l renal ultrasound in children with HPS is sim.lar to the reported incidence of 3-6%determ.ned with routine ultrasound screening of healthy newborns. The abnorm.lities detected were not clinically relevant and did not require surgical intervention. We do not recom.end screening of the urinary tract in infants with HPS.

Fallopian tube assessm.nt of the peristaltic-ciliary flow of a linearly viscous fluid in a finite narrow tube

The present theoretical assessm.nt deals with the peristaltic-ciliary trans- port of a developing em.ryo within a fallopian tubal fluid in the hum.n fallopian tube. A m.them.tical m.del of peristalsis-cilia induced flow of a linearly viscous fluid within a fallopian tubal fluid in a finite two-dim.nsional narrow tube is developed. The lubrica- tion approxim.tion theory is used to solve the resulting partial differential equation. The expressions for axial and radial velocities, pressure gradient, stream.function, volum. flow rate, and tim. m.an volum. flow rate are derived. Num.rical integration is perform.d for the appropriate residue tim. over the wavelength and the pressure difference over the wavelength. m.reover, the plots of axial velocity, the appropriate residue tim. over wavelength, the vector, the pressure difference over wavelength, and the stream.ines are displayed and discussed for em.rging param.ters and constants. Salient features of the pum.ing characteristics and the trapping phenom.non are discussed in detail. Yhrther- m.re, a com.arison between the peristaltic flow and the peristaltic-ciliary flow is m.de as the special case. Relevance of the current results to the transport of a developing em.ryo within a fallopian tubal fluid from.am.ulla to the intram.ral in the fallopian tube is also explored. It reveals the fact that cilia along with peristalsis helps to com.lete the required m.totic divisions while transporting the developing em.ryo within a fallopian tubal fluid in the hum.n fallopian tube.

Petrogenesis of the Late Cretaceous Tholeiitic Volcanism.and Oceanic Island Arc Affinity of the Chagai Arc, Western Pakistan

The Late Cretaceous Chagai arc outcrops in western Pakistan, southern Afghanistan and eastern Iran. It is in the Tethyan convergence zone, form.d by northward subduction of the Arabian oceanic plate beneath the Afghan block. The oldest unit of the Chagai arc is the Late Cretaceous Sinjrani Volcanic Group. This is com.osed of porphyritic lava flows and volcaniclastic rocks, and subordinate shale, sandstone, lim.stone and chert. The flows are fractionated low-K tholeiitic basalts, basaltic- andesites, and andesites. Relative enrichm.nt in their LILE and depletion in HFSE, and negative Nb and Ta and positive K, Ba and Sr anom.lies point to a subduction-related origin. Com.ared to m.RB, the least fractionated Chagai basalts have low Na2O, Fe2O3^T, CaO, Ti, Zr, Y and ^87Sr/^86Sr. Rather than an Andean setting, these results suggest derivation from.a highly depleted m.ntle in an intraoceanic arc form.d by Late Cretaceous convergence in the Ceno-Tethys. The segm.nted subduction zone form.d between Gondwana and a collage of sm.ll continental blocks （Iran, Afghan, Karakoram. Lhasa and Burm.） was accom.anied by a chain of oceanic island arcs and suprasubduction ophiolites including Sem.il, Zagros, Chagai-Raskoh, Kandahar, m.slim.Bagh, Waziristan and Kohistan-Ladakh, Nidar, Nagaland and m.nipur. These com.lexes accreted to the southern m.rgin of Eurasia in the Late Cretaceous.

Hydrodynam.cs of viscous fluid through porous slit with linear absorption

The exact solutions for the viscous fluid through a porous slit with linear ab- sorption are obtained. The Stokes equation with non-hom.geneous boundary conditions is solved to get the expressions for the velocity com.onents, pressure distribution, wall shear stress, fractional absorption, and leakage flux. The volum. flow rate and m.an flow rate are found to be useful in obtaining a convenient form.of the longitudinal velocity com.onent and pressure difference. The points of the m.xim.m.velocity com.onents for a fixed axial distance are identified. The value of the linear absorption param.ter is ran- dom.y chosen, and the rest available data of the rat kidney to the tabulate pressure drop and fractional absorption are incorporated. The effects of the linear absorption, uniform.absorption, and flow rate param.ters on the flow properties are discussed by graphs. It is found that forward flow occurs only if the volum. flux per unit width is greater than the absorption velocity throughout the length of the slit, otherwise back flow m.y occur. The leakage flux increases with the increase in the linear absorption param.ter. Stream.ines are drawn to help the analysis of the flow behaviors during the absorption of the fluid flow through the renal tubule and purification of blood through an artificial kidney.
