Maximum Sustainable Yield Estimates of Ladypees,Sillago sihama(Forsskl),Fishery in Pakistan Using the ASPIC and CEDA Packages

Using surplus production model packages of ASPIC(a stock-production model incorporating covariates) and CEDA(Catch effort data analysis),we analyzed the catch and effort data of Sillago sihama fishery in *** estimates the pa-rameters of MSY(maximum sustainable yield),Fmsy(fishing mortality),q(catchability coefficient),K(carrying capacity or unexploited biomass) and B1/K(maximum sustainable yield over initial biomass).The estimated non-bootstrapped value of MSY based on logistic was 598 t and that based on the Fox model was 415 t,which showed that the Fox model estimation was more conservative than that with the logistic *** R2 with the logistic model(0.702) is larger than that with the Fox model(0.541),which indicates a better *** coefficient of variation(cv) of the estimated MSY was about 0.3,except for a larger value 88.87 and a smaller value of *** contrast to the ASPIC results,the R2 with the Fox model(0.651-0.692) was larger than that with the Schaefer model(0.435-0.567),indicating a better *** key parameters of CEDA are:MSY,K,q,and r(intrinsic growth),and the three error assumptions in using the models are normal,log normal and *** estimates from the Schaefer and Pella-Tomlinson models were *** MSY estimations from the above two models were 398 t,549 t and 398 t for normal,log-normal and gamma error distributions,*** MSY estimates from the Fox model were 381 t,366 t and 366 t for the above three error assumptions,*** Fox model estimates were smaller than those for the Schaefer and the Pella-Tomlinson *** the light of the MSY estimations of 415 t from ASPIC for the Fox model and 381 t from CEDA for the Fox model,MSY for *** is about 400 *** the catch in 2003 was 401 t,we would suggest the fishery should be kept at the current *** models used here depend on the assumption that CPUE(catch per unit effort) data used in the study can reliably quantify temporal vari

Objective:To delineate immunomodulatory role of histamine on antibody generation pr of ile in rabbit in the present dose-dependent histamine ***:The cohort comprised of three groups(Ⅲ,ⅣandⅤ),containing six rabbits each,and received subcutaneous histamine 50μg/kg×bis in die(b.i.d.),100μg/kg×*** 200μg/kg X b.i.d.,respectively for 10 days (starting from the 1st day).They were subsequently immunized on the 3rd day with intravenous injection of sheep blood cell(SRBC)(1×10 cells/mL).GroupⅡ(positive control)(n=6) received vehicle(sterile distilled water) and immunized at day 3 similarly while groupⅠ(negative control) (n=6) remained non-immunized and received only *** experimentations were performed in *** samples were collected on pre-immunization(pre-I)(day 0),as well as on days 7-,14-,21-,28- and 58- post-immunization(post-I).Immunological parameters[total immunoglobulins(Igs),IgM and IgG]were analyzed by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) ***:Histamine could influence a detectable antibody response to SRBC as early as day 7-post-I,which lasted until day 58- *** results were found statistically significant(P< 0.05).Conclusions:Our results provide evidence that histamine has a short-term effect on antibody generation(until its presence in the body),and the antibody generation titer in vivo were affected by the concentration of histamine.

Antibiotic susceptibility profiling and virulence potential of Campylobacter jejuni isolates from different sources in Pakistan

Objective:To determine antibiotic resistance patterns and virulence potential of Campylobacter jejuni(***) isolates from clinical human diarrheal infections,cattle and healthy ***:Antibiotic sensitivity patterns of *** isolates were determined by Kirby Bauer Disc Diffusion *** isolates were then subjected to virulence profiling for the detection of map A(membrane-associated protein).cadF(fibronectin binding protein).wlaN(beta-1.3-galaclosyltransferase) and neu AB(sialic acid biosynthesis gene).Further *** isolates were grouped by random amplification of polymorphic DNA(RAPD) ***:A total of436 samples from poultry(n=88).cattle(n=216) and humans(n=132) from different locations were *** revealed percentage of *** isolates were 35.2%(31/88).25.0%(54/216) and 11.3%(15/132) among poultry,cattle and clinical human samples *** susceptibility results showed that similar resistance patterns to cephalothin was ie.87.0%,87.1%and 89%among humans,poultry and cattle respectively,followed by sulfamethoxazolc+trimcthoprim 40.0%,38.7%and 31.0%in humans,poultry and cattle and Ampicillin 40%,32%and 20%in humans,poultry and cattle ***-lactamase activity was detected in 40.00%humans.20.37%cattle and 32.25%in poultry *** *** and mapA were present in all poultry,cattle and human C jejuni *** was not detected in any isolate and neu AB was found in 9/31(36%) poultry *** profiling results suggested high diversity of *** ***:Detection of multidrug resistant *** strains from poultry and cattle is alarming as they can be potential hazard to ***,predominant association of virulence factors,cadF and map A(100%each) in *** isolates from all sources and neuAB(36%) with poultry isolates suggest the potential source of transmission of diverse types of *** to humans.

An investigation of non-Newtonian fluid flow due to metachronal beating of cilia in a tube

The aim of this study is to explain theoretically the role of ciliary motion on the transport of epididymal fluid through the ductus efferentes of the male reproductive track. For this purpose, a mathematical model has been developed for the flow of a non-Newtonian fluid in an axisymmetric tube due to metachronal wave of cilia motion for the more realistic consequences. Carreau viscous fluid model is considered to see the rheological effects on the pumping characteristics of the flow. Regular perturbation method has been employed to obtain the analytical expressions for the stream function, the velocity field and a relation between the pressure difference and the volume flow rate. It is found that the volume flow rate is influenced significantly by Weissenberg number We and the cilia length parameter ε. The computational results are presented graphically to see the effects of various physical parameters. Finally, the analysis is applied and compared with the observed value of the flow rate of spermatic fluid in the ductus efferentes of the male reproductive track. The volume flow rate is reported closed to the estimated value 6 × 10^-3 ml/h in the human ductus efferentes when We = 0.5 and e is near by 0.25.

Early colonoscopy in patients with acute diverticular bleeding is associated with improvement in healthcare-resource utilization

Background:Diverticular bleeding(DB)is the most common cause of severe acute lower gastrointestinal bleeding(GIB)in developed *** role of early colonoscopy(<24 hours)continues to remain controversial and data on early colonoscopy in acute DB are *** aimed to evaluate the effect of timing of colonoscopy on outcomes in patients with acute DB using a nationwide inpatient ***:Data from the nationwide inpatient sample from 2012 to 2014 were *** ninth version of the International Classification of Diseases coding system ICD 9 was used for patient *** included discharges with the primary and secondary inpatient diagnosis of diverticulosis with bleeding and diverticulitis with *** with no primary or secondary diagnosis of diverticulosis with bleeding,diverticulitis with bleeding,patients who were less than 18 years old and those who did not undergo colonoscopy during the admission were *** primary outcomes were length of stay(LOS)and total hospitalization ***:A total of 88600 patients were included in our analysis,amongstwhom 45020(50.8%)had colonoscopy within 24hours of admission(early colonoscopy),while 43580(49.2%)patients had colonoscopy after 24hours of admission(late colonoscopy).LOS was significantly lower in patients with early colonoscopy as compared to those with late colonoscopy(3.7 vs 5.6days,P<0.0001).Total hospitalization costs were also significantly lower in patients with early colonoscopy($9317 vs$11767,P<0.0001).There was no difference inmortality between both groups(0.7 vs 0.8%).After adjusting for potential confounders,the differences in LOS and total hospitalization costs between early and late colonoscopy remained statistically ***:Early colonoscopy in acute DB significantly reduced LOS and total hospitalization *** was no significant difference inmortality *** of early colonoscopy in the appropriate patients presenting with acute DB

Rice varieties having high Fe concentration in the endospermic region can be used as a good source for Fe deficit *** this study,303 Oryza sativa varieties and 1 Oryza rufipogon accession were assessed for spatial Fe accumulation in grains by Prussian blue staining *** ferritin protein distribution in grains was visualized by immunohistochemistry,and ferritin expression was assessed in selected rice varieties using semi-quantitative reverse transcription *** popular rice varieties,namely Sarjoo 52,Madhukar and Jalmagna,and the *** variety showed Fe in all the regions of grains,and the highest Fe concentration was observed in the embryo *** high-yielding varieties like Swarna,Swarna Sub 1,CSR13 and NDRR359 had lower Fe concentration in the embryo *** highest Fe concentration was detected in ***(49.8μg/g),followed by Sarjoo 52(26.1μg/g)and Madhukar(25.7μg/g).Phytic acid concentration was the minimum in ***(5.75 mg/g)followed by Sarjoo 52(5.83 mg/g).Western blot and semi-quantitative reverse transcription PCR showed higher expression of ferritin gene in ***,Sarjoo 52 and *** conclusion,*** and Sarjoo 52 had higher Fe concentration in the embryo regions as well as endosperm and aleurone layer,whereas the other varieties had lower Fe concentration in the *** 52 could be used as a donor in the rice breeding program for the generation of new varieties with elevated grain Fe concentration.

Determining the component-based operative time learning curve for robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy

Objectives:To determine the learning curve(LC)of total operative time and the discrete components of the robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy(RARP)for a recent robotic fellowship-trained urologic *** and methods:We performed a retrospective analysis of RARP procedures performed by a single new attending surgeon from August 2015 to April ***'demographics and operative details were *** operative time was divided and prospectively recorded in 7 parts:(a)docking robot,(b)dissecting seminal vesicles(SVs)(c)dissecting endopelvic fascia(EPF),(d)incising bladder neck(BN),(e)completing the dissection,(f)lymph node dissection,and(g)urethrovesical anastomosis(UVA)and robot *** sum analysis was used to ascertain the LC for total operative time and the 7 parts of the ***:One hundred twenty consecutive RARPs were *** LC was overcome at 25 cases for total operative time,13 cases for docking the robot,33 cases for dissecting SVs,31 cases for dissecting EPF,46 cases for incising BN,38 cases for prostate dissection,25 cases for lymph node dissection,and 52 cases for *** operative time was decreased 22.8%(p<0.0001)and time for robot docking,dissecting SVs,dissecting EPF,incising BN,completing prostate dissection,lymph node dissection,and UVA were decreased 16.7%,30.5%,29.5%,36.2%,37.3%,32.2%,and 26.9%,respectively(all p<0.05).Conclusions:We observed a 25-case LC for a fellowship-trained urologist to achieve stable operative performance of RARP *** components demonstrated variable LCs including the UVA that required upward of 52 cases.
