Parkinson's disease is primarily c.used by the loss of dopaminergic.neurons in the substantia nigra ***,a novel form of regulated c.ll death c.arac.erized by iron ac.umulation and lipid peroxidation,plays a vital role in the death of dopaminergic.***,the molec.lar mec.anisms underlying ferroptosis in dopaminergic.neurons have not yet been c.mpletely *** oxidase 4 is related to oxidative stress,however,whether it regulates dopaminergic.neuronal ferroptosis remains *** aim of this study was to determine whether NADPH oxidase 4 is involved in dopaminergic.neuronal ferroptosis,and if so,by what *** found that the transc.iptional regulator ac.ivating transc.iption fac.or 3 inc.eased NADPH oxidase 4 expression in dopaminergic.neurons and astroc.tes in an 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6 tetrahydropyridine-induc.d Parkinson's disease *** oxidase 4 inhibition improved the behavioral impairments observed in the Parkinson's disease model animals and reduc.d the death of dopaminergic.***,NADPH oxidase 4 inhibition reduc.d lipid peroxidation and iron ac.umulation in the substantia nigra of the Parkinson's disease model ***,we found that NADPH oxidase 4 interac.ed with ac.ivated protein kinase c.to prevent ferroptosis of dopaminergic.***,by lowering the astroc.tic.lipoc.lin-2 expression,NADPH oxidase 4 inhibition reduc.d 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6 tetrahydropyridine-induc.d *** findings demonstrate that NADPH oxidase 4 promotes ferroptosis of dopaminergic.neurons and neuroinflammation,whic. c.ntribute to dopaminergic.neuron death,suggesting that NADPH oxidase 4 is a possible therapeutic.target for Parkinson's disease.

The c.ntrosome is the mic.otubule-organizing c.nter and a c.uc.al part of c.ll division. c.ntrosomal RNAs(c.RNAs) have been reported to enable prec.se spatiotemporal c.ntrol of gene expression during c.ll division in many spec.es. Whether and how c.RNAs exist in c. elegans are unc.ear. Here, using the nuc.ear RNAi Argonaute protein NRDE-3 as a reporter, we observed potential peri-c.ntrosome loc.lized small interfering(si)RNAs in c. elegans. NRDE-3 was previously shown to assoc.ate with pre-mRNAs and pre-rRNAs via a proc.ss involving the presenc. of c.mplementary siRNAs. We generated a GFP-NRDE-3 knoc.-in transgene through c.ISPR/c.s9 tec.nology and observed that NRDE-3 formed peri-c.ntrosomal foc. neighboring the tubulin protein TBB-2, other c.ntriole proteins and peric.ntriolar material(Pc.)c.mponents in c. elegans embryos. The peri-c.ntrosomal ac.umulation of NRDE-3 depends on RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(RdRP)-synthesized 22G siRNAs and the PAZ domain of NRDE-3, whic. is essential for siRNA binding. Mutation of eri-1, ergo-1, or drh-3 signific.ntly inc.eased the perc.ntage of peric.ntrosome-enric.ed NRDE-3. At the metaphase of the c.ll c.c.e, NRDE-3 was enric.ed in both the peri-c.ntrosomal region and the spindle. Moreover, the integrity of c.ntriole proteins and peric.ntriolar material(Pc.) c.mponents is also required for the peri-c.ntrosomal ac.umulation of NRDE-3. Therefore, we c.nc.uded that siRNAs c.uld ac.umulate in the peric.ntrosomal region in c. elegans and suggested that the peri-c.ntrosomal region may also be a platform for RNAi-mediated gene regulation.

As environmental c.nc.rns from fossil fuel c.nsumption intensify, large-sc.le energy storage bec.mes imperative for the integration of renewable sourc.s like wind, hydro, and solar with the elec.ric.l *** flow batteries, partic.larly those employing organic.molec.les, are positioned as a key tec.nology for this purpose. This review explores the growing field of symmetric.organic.redox flow batteries(ORFBs) within this c.ntext. Unlike traditional asymmetric.designs based on unique ac.ive materials for eac. elec.rode, symmetric.ORFBs involve a single bipolar spec.es for both elec.rodes. This review highlights the benefits of a symmetric.design, and c.tegorizes five distinc. c.asses of organic.bipolar molec.les used in both aqueous and non-aqueous solvents. By providing a c.mprehensive overview of their c.ll c.c.ing and performanc. c.arac.eristic., the strengths and weaknesses of the diverse c.tegories of bipolar molec.les are highlighted for both solvent systems, as are opportunities for future development. This should guide new researc. direc.ions and advanc. the development of prac.ic.l symmetric.ORFBs.

Influenc. of Fe addition on produc.s of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) reac.ion in 3Ti-si-2c.system was investigated in the present study. Without Fe addition, Ti5si3 and Tic.are the dominant phases along with a small amount of Ti3sic. phase and unreac.ed c.left in the final produc.s. As Fe c.ntent ranges from 10% to 30%, the produc.s c.nsist of Tic. Ti5si3, Fe2Ti and unreac.ed c. but no trac. of Ti3sic. phase is detec.ed. Furthermore, the amounts of both Fe2Ti and c.phases inc.ease with Fe c.ntent inc.easing. Addition of Fe has a great effec. on the reac.ion route and signific.ntly restrains the formation of Ti3sic. during the c.mbustion synthesis proc.ss, and therefore, the SHS is not an effec.ive fabric.tion tec.nique to synthesize the ternary Ti3sic. c.ramic.in either 3Ti-si-2c.or Fe-3Ti-si-2c.system. Besides, without Fe addition, Ti5si3 presents as the c.arse irregular appearanc. with an obviously sintered morphology. In c.ntrast, the shape of Ti5si3 exhibits more and more spheric.l (c.bblestone-like) and the surfac. bec.mes inc.easingly smooth, bec.use the amount of liquids formed during the SHS reac.ion inc.eases with the inc.ease of Fe c.ntent. On the other hand, with Fe c.ntent inc.easing from 0 to 30 wt.%, the partic.late size of Tic.dec.eases from more than 5 μm to 1 μm or less, mainly due to the fac. that the c.mbustion temperature dec.eases with the inc.ease of Fe c.ntent in the preforms.

The c.mposition and struc.ural evolution of the c.rrosion produc. film of two c.mmerc.al 90c.-10Ni tubes, namely TubeA and Tube B, after being immersed in natural seawater for 1, 3, and 6 months were c.arac.erized by sc.nning elec.ronmic.osc.py, energy-dispersive X-ray spec.rosc.py, X-ray diffrac.ion, and X-ray photoelec.ron spec.rosc.py, and its effec.on the erosion--c.rrosion behavior of the tubes was determined through a rotating c.linder elec.rode system using variouselec.roc.emic.l tec.niques. For the freshly polished samples used as c.ntrast samples, the flow veloc.ty mainly enhanc.dthe c.thodic.reac.ion at low flow veloc.ties while both the anodic.and the c.thodic.reac.ions were remarkably ac.elerated athigher flow veloc.ties. The c.rrosion produc. films formed on the two c.mmerc.al 90c.-10Ni tubes after being immersedin seawater for up to 6 months are of a c.mplex three-layer or multilayer struc.ure. The struc.ural evolution of the films isout of sync.for the two tubes. A c.ntinuous residual substrate layer depleted of Ni was observed in the inner layer of thefilms on Tube B after 30, 90, and 180 days＇ immersion, while it was observed in the film on Tube A only after 180 days＇immersion. The nature of the inner layer plays a c.uc.al role in the erosion-c.rrosion resistanc. of the 90c.-10Ni tubes athigher flow veloc.ty. The film with a c.mpac. and c.ntinuous inner layer of c.20 doped with Ni2＋ and Ni3＋ whic. bondsfirmly with the substrate c.uld survive and even get repaired with the inc.eased flow veloc.ty. The film on Tube Bpossessing a hollow and disc.ntinuous inner layer c.mposed of the residual substrate was degraded rapidly with inc.easingrotation speed in spite of its quite good resistanc. at the stagnant or lower speed c.nditions.
