A comprehensive comparison of different regression techniques and nature-inspired optimization algorithms to predict carbonation depth of recycled aggregate concrete

The utilization of recycled aggregates(RA)for concrete production has the potential to offer substantial environmental and economic ***,RA concrete is plagued with considerable durability concerns,particularly *** advance the application of RA concrete,the establishment of a reliable model for predicting the carbonation is *** the one hand,concrete carbonation is a long and slow process and thus consumes a lot of time and energy to *** the other hand,carbonation is influenced by many factors and is hard to *** this,this paper proposes the use of machine learning techniques to establish accurate prediction models for the carbonation depth(CD)of RA *** types of regression techniques and meta-heuristic algorithms were employed to provide more alternative predictive *** was found that the best prediction performance was obtained from extreme gradient boosting-multi-universe optimizer(XGB-MVO)with R^(2) value of 0.9949 and 0.9398 for training and testing sets,***-MVO was used for evaluating physical laws of carbonation and it was found that the developed XGB-MVO model could provide reasonable predictions when new data were *** also showed better generalization capabilities when compared with different models in the ***,this paper emphasizes the need for sustainable solutions in the construction industry to reduce its environmental impact and contribute to sustainable and low-carbon economies.

A hierarchical multi-UAV cooperative framework for infrastructure inspection and reconstruction

Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)are emerging as a powerful tool for inspections and repair works in large-scale and unstructured 3D infrastructures,but current approaches take a long time to cover the entire *** using UAVs for inspections and repair works puts forward a requirement of improving time efficiency in large-scale and cluster *** paper presents a hierarchical multi-UAV cooperative framework for infrastructure inspection and reconstruction to balance the workload and reduce the overall task completion *** proposed framework consists of two stages,the exploration stage and the exploitation stage,resolving the task in a sequential *** the exploration stage,the density map is developed to update global and local information for dynamic load-balanced area partition based on reconstructability and relative positions of UAVs,and the Voronoi-based planner is used to enable the UAVs to reach their best *** obtaining the global map,viewpoints are generated and divided while taking into account the battery capacity of each ***,a shortest path planning method is used to minimize the total traveling cost of these viewpoints for obtaining a high-quality *** experiments are conducted in both a simulated and real environment to show the time efficiency,robustness,and effectiveness of the proposed ***,the whole system is implemented in real applications.

Structural Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Carbon Emission Spatial Association Network:A Case Study of Yangtze River Delta City Cluster,China

City cluster is an effective platform for encouraging regionally coordinated *** reduction of carbon emissions within city cluster via the spatial association network between cities can help coordinate the regional carbon emission management,realize sustainable development,and assist China in achieving the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality *** paper applies the improved gravity model and social network analysis(SNA)to the study of spatial correlation of carbon emissions in city clusters and analyzes the structural characteristics of the spatial correlation network of carbon emissions in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD)city cluster in China and its influencing *** results demonstrate that:1)the spatial association of carbon emissions in the YRD city cluster exhibits a typical and complex multi-threaded network *** network association number and density show an upward trend,indicating closer spatial association between cities,but their values remain generally ***,the network hierarchy and network efficiency show a downward trend but remain high.2)The spatial association network of carbon emissions in the YRD city cluster shows an obvious‘core-edge’distribution *** network is centered around Shanghai,Suzhou and Wuxi,all of which play the role of‘bridges’,while cities such as Zhoushan,Ma'anshan,Tongling and other cities characterized by the remote location,single transportation mode or lower economic level are positioned at the edge of the network.3)Geographic proximity,varying levels of economic development,different industrial structures,degrees of urbanization,levels of technological innovation,energy intensities and environmental regulation are important influencing factors on the spatial association of within the YRD city ***,policy implications are provided from four aspects:government macro-control and market mechanism guidance,structural characteristics of the‘core-edge’network,reconfigura

Predication of Selective Ring-opening Hydrogenolysis for Furfuryl Alcohol to Produce Pentanediol over Dual-atom Catalysts

Selective activation of C-O bond is of fundamental importance in the precise conversion of oxygenates into value-added compounds in an atom-economic and sustainable manner, and meanwhile, the structurally well-defined dual-atoms catalysts (daCs) have been scarcely investigated in this field. In this study, a series of transition metal daCs anchored on nitrogen-doped graphene (TM2/NC, TM=Pt, Ir, Rh, Pd, Ru, Co, Ni and Cu) was constructed to make a comprehensive investigation of their selectivity in the hydrogenative transformation of furfuryl alcohol (FAL), an important biomass platform molecule, to 1,2-pentanediol (1,2-PeD) via selective cleavage of furanic C5-O bond, by density functional theory (DFT) calculations and microkinetic modeling. We found that Ir2/NC demonstrated a high selectivity for the cleavage of furanic C5-O bond to produce 1,2-PeD, while the production of THFAL or 1,5-pentanediol (1,5-PeD) on other TM2/NC catalysts are more favorable. Furthermore, we found that the selective C-O bond cleavage of FAL furan ring is affected by the orbital overlap between the d-orbitals of the anchored metal atoms and the p-orbitals of the adsorbed C atom in FAL, suggesting that the selectivity of the C-O bond cleavage is inextricably related with the electronic property of the anchored metals.

Efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal medicine as adjunctive therapy in sepsis patients with bloodstream infection:a propensity-matched analysis

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal medicine in treating sepsis patients with bloodstream ***:A 6-year retrospective study was carried out at a university hospital in *** sepsis patients with bloodstream infection were *** primary outcome was 28-day mortality after *** score method was used to adjust for possible confounding.28-day mortality was estimated by KaplanMeier analysis and compared using the log-rank *** regression analysis was carried out to identify factors impacting in-hospital mortality ***:Following the application of the propensity score method,a total of 176 patients were *** all-cause 28-day mortality in the control group and Chinese herbal medicine group was 21.6%and 14.8%,***-Meier survival analysis showed that Chinese herbal medicine was associated with a lower hazard ratio(HR)in all-cause 28-day death compared with the control group[HR=0.44,95%CI(0.22,0.90),Psimilar between the two groups(P>0.05).Blood-activating and stasis-eliminating herb administration was associated with reduced inhospital mortality among sepsis patients with bloodstream infection[HR=0.54,95%CI(0.34,0.94),PsiONS:Chinese herbal medicine,especially the blood-activating and stasis-eliminating herb,might have certain efficacy and safety in treating sepsis patients with bloodstream *** should prescribe blood-activating and stasis-eliminating herb in treating these two coalescent critical diseases as long as no contraindications ***,further studies are needed to validate our results.

With the rapid development of 5G information technology,thermal conductivity/dissipation problems of highly integrated electronic devices and electrical equipment are becoming *** this work,“high-temperature solid-phase&diazonium salt decomposition”method is carried out to prepare benzidine-functionalized boron nitride(m-BN).Subsequently,m-BN/poly(pphenylene benzobisoxazole)nanofiber(PNF)nanocomposite paper with nacremimetic layered structures is prepared via sol–gel film transformation *** obtained m-BN/PNF nanocomposite paper with 50 wt%m-BN presents excellent thermal conductivity,incredible electrical insulation,outstanding mechanical properties and thermal stability,due to the construction of extensive hydrogen bonds andπ–πinteractions between m-BN and PNF,and stable nacre-mimetic layered ***λ∥andλ_(⊥)are 9.68 and 0.84 W m^(-1)K^(-1),and the volume resistivity and breakdown strength are as high as 2.3×10^(15)Ωcm and 324.2 kV mm^(-1),***,it also presents extremely high tensile strength of 193.6 MPa and thermal decomposition temperature of 640°C,showing a broad application prospect in high-end thermal management fields such as electronic devices and electrical equipment.

High-responsivity on-chip waveguide coupled germanium photodetector for 2 μm waveband

Recently,the emerging 2μm waveband has gained increasing interest due to its great potential for a wide scope of *** with the existing optical communication windows at shorter wavelengths,it also offers distinct advantages of lower nonlinear absorption,better fabrication tolerance,and larger free carrier plasma effects for silicon photonics,which has been a proven device *** much progress has been witnessed for silicon photonics at the 2μm waveband,the primary challenge still exists for on-chip *** the maturity and compatibility of the waveguide coupled photodetectors made of germanium,the 2μm regime is far beyond its cutoff *** this work,we demonstrate an efficient and high-speed on-chip waveguidecoupled germanium photodetector operating at the 2μm *** weak sub-bandgap absorption of epitaxial germanium is greatly enhanced by a lateral separation absorption charge multiplication *** detector is fabricated by the standard process offered by a commercial *** device has a benchmark performance with responsivity of 1.05 A/W and 3 dB bandwidth of 7.12 GHz,which is able to receive high-speed signals with up to 20 Gbit/s data *** availability of such an efficient and fast on-chip detector circumvents the barriers between silicon photonic integrated circuits and the potential applications at the 2μm waveband.

Fault Identification for Shear-Type Structures Using Low-Frequency Vibration Modes

Shear-type structures are common structural forms in industrial and civil buildings,such as concrete and steel frame *** diagnosis of shear-type structures is an important topic to ensure the normal use of *** main drawback of existing damage assessment methods is that they require accurate structural finite element models for damage ***,for many shear-type structures,it is difficult to obtain accurate *** order to avoid finite elementmodeling,amodel-freemethod for diagnosing shear structure defects is developed in this *** method only needs to measure a few low-order vibration modes of the *** proposed defect diagnosis method is divided into two *** the first stage,the location of defects in the structure is determined based on the difference between the virtual displacements derived from the dynamic flexibility matrices before and after *** the second stage,damage severity is evaluated based on an improved frequency sensitivity *** innovations of this method lie in two *** first innovation is the development of a virtual displacement difference method for determining the location of damage in the shear *** second is to improve the existing frequency sensitivity equation to calculate the damage degree without constructing the finite *** has been verified on a numerical example of a 22-story shear frame structure and an experimental example of a three-story steel shear *** on numerical analysis and experimental data validation,it is shown that this method only needs to use the low-order modes of structural vibration to diagnose the defect location and damage degree,and does not require finite element *** proposed method should be a very simple and practical defect diagnosis technique in engineering practice.
